The people running this hotel are lovely. They were so helpful and friendly! This makes a big difference to me and made my stay a real pleasure. I chose it for the location, which was brilliant, and the price, which was good value but it was the people that pushed it into the 'outstanding' category.

Slightly shabby, my room had cracked bathroom tiles coming away from the wall and a bath plug that didn't fit. However, room was clean, breakfast was good, convenient for Congress Theatre and Winter Gardens, good overall value.

Excellent location, opposite theatres and art gallery and just a few minutes walk from the seafront. Good shops and restaurants nearby. Staff were welcoming and breakfast was excellent. Fridge in the room was one of the quietest I have ever come across. I thought it wasn't working but it was fine. Room was a bit faded and the bed was very creaky!!

I stay away every week, and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest places I have stayed. A small, family run hotel, with a warm welcome, lovely rooms and excellent service.

We had our 5 year old granddaughter with us for a couple of days and having a separate area for her in the family room was ideal. Breakfast was good and staff friendly and welcoming. Room and furniture rather tatty. 'Adult' area rather small with no chairs and small (4'6") bed.

The owners were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The location was also excellent, across the road from the Congress Theatre and very close to the beach also. We would definitely stay there again. The bedding was spotless and the room was very clean and tidy.

I only stayed for one night, but it was very convenient for the bridge congress that I attended for the weekend. Located near the sea front, and there is a choice of restaurants within walking distance. Nice spacious room and comfortable bed. No complaints about the hotel itself, however, on settling my account I (and the others in my group) were informed that there was a surcharge as we had booked on the internet. Had we booked with the hotel direct, they would have charged £25 less per night, however when I telephoned the hotel before booking, I was informed that all the rooms were taken! This is contrary to previous experiences when booking hotels on the internet, which have worked out to be much cheaper than booking direct.

The proprietors were very welcoming and made us very comfortable. The room was clean and well equipped, with 2 comfy chairs in which we could relax and watch TV if we so wished. the shower cubicle could be bigger, but did the job.

The staff/owners were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had specifically booked the hotel for the parking facilities, and the owner had reserved a space for me and allowed me to stay before/after checking in/out times which was appreciated. I hope to stay there again.

“My wife and I spent 6 nights in the hotel during December 2011 and found it to be very comfotable and welcoming. The various lounges - some large and some small - add to the charm of the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location could not be better. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.” John, Aylesbury |
