Ideal location if passing through Paddington Station and need somewhere to stay overnight. A bit tired and dated, but good value for money. Left very early in the morning, so cannot coment on the breakfast. The online reviews were accurate in this case.

This has to be the best value for money hotel anywhere in the South-East of England. The staff were very friendly; the room was quiet and perfectly comfortable; and the breakfast was really good too. And when you leave the hotel... you're a few minutes away from Marble Arch Tube Station. Brilliant.

Very clean, comfortable room and bathroom (despite it being shared) which were sufficient for my needs, excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. And all for £55 a night in Central London The room was a bit small and right at the top of 80 steps so it was quite tiring getting there.

I was actually given room in their sister hotel, The George, because of accidental overbooking on their part. However, as they assured me that the facilities were identical and other guests may also be relocated sometimes, I'm giving my evaluation anyway. The best thing was the central location and the inclusion of WiFi connectivity in the room price. The lady at the reception when I checked in was extremely friendly and helpful, the other staff being polite as well. The room had well-supplied tea/coffee making facilities which were apparently refilled daily. I also liked the possibility to leave my suitcase with the reception for safekeeping for the day after checking out as the check-out time was 10:30 and my flight left only at 20:30. Even though I was able to connect the WiFi itself and see the other computers in the local network, I was unable to access the Internet with both my laptop and my WiFi-enabled phone for the whole weekend. In addition, I found and exterminated two moth-like insects flying around in the room. The breakfast room was extremely crowded both days because of its small size and the short breakfast time.

Location is fantastic, within a few seconds of Marble Arch, and thus Oxford Street, Park Lane, Hyde Park etc etc. The room was a noisy - the drains from upper floors constantly rattle. Would only be a problem on rainy days of course, though there will be lots of them in the UK!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was basic and small but very quiet-no street noise. Location-200 yards from the tube station and the decent end of Oxford Street. Generous and freshly cooked breakfast with encouragement to ask for more! Blinds in the bathroom please

Wonderful staff, great location, superb breakfast. This hotel is exactly where you want to be in London, 20metres from Hide Park at the top of Oxford Street, excellent. The room was small and in need of a bit of TLC, it was clean but not well decorated.

great location, helpful staff, very cheap, great breakfast This is a cheap B&B, so the rooms are small, no elevator, everything is rather shabby. But you can't complain as the price is adequate and they do not try to sell you more than they have

“The Mornington included a breakfast in the price of the room. The breakfast was very nice indeed and really set us up for the day. If we had been paying for a breakfast separately I'm sure it would have been £10 or £15 each per day. Also the hotel was situated very close to the Lancaster Gate tube station and we were also able to walk across Hyde Park to get to Harrods etc.” Jeff, Newtownards |
