The Parliament House Hotel

Boede kun 1 nat på hotellet - special tilbud som gav rimelig lav pris for et superlækkert værelse. Følte os alligevel meget, meget velkomne og rigtig godt behandlet at et meget venligt personale, som alle (reception, morgenmadsrestaurant og en enkelt stuepige, som vi sagde godmorgen til) udstrålede en imødekommenhed og et godt humør, som fik os til at føle os meget veltilpasse i de ret fine omgivelser. Beliggenheden er prima og fra vores værelse var udsigten fantastisk.

Vedr. continental breakfast (købte ikke full Scottish breakfast her): et tag-selv udvalg af små forskellige indpakkede oste og evt. kødpålæg, ville have været dejligt. Nok fordi jeg føler mig lidt uhøflig, hvis jeg efterlader en bestemt slags pølse eller andet på en tallerken, fordi jeg ikke så godt kan lide lige den slags pålæg. Hvis man vælger selv, kommer man ud over det 'problem' (Der var stort tag selv-udvalg af alt andet til morgenmaden - meget lækkert!)

Quiet

getting to my room was a bit of a trek - awkward especially when no help with bags!

Quietly efficient, all facilities in place as promised. Housekeeping and room service responded well. Good value for money @ GBP 75/- night for two pax with full Scottish breakfast. Quite a "cute" hotel.

Though at a good location off Princes Street close to Waverley station, actually a difficult walk with luggage, because the last furlong is an uphill climb. Polite and capable staff, but impersonal. No smoking arrangements whasoever.

Excellent Customer Service! The front desk is very helpful in providing tourist information. The food and serving staff at the restaurant are just great!!! The room is clean and comfortable.

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night there and would stay there again. It offered a superior and better value experience than many of the mid market hotel chains. My room was lovely, spacious and quiet, and you are 5 minutes around the corner from the action. Lovely hotel. Very good value bistro below.

Rather a small quibble but it would be good to warn on the breakfast menu those items that take extra time to prepare. It was beautiful but did not have 20 minutes on the day I was there.

the receptionist was very helpful - she was very informative. the hotel is old with original features - easy less than 5 min walk from the station - our room was on the top floor, so had a fantastic view.

although everything was great the one down side was that we had to walk up those stairs - but nothing like a bit of exercise.
