Vriendelijk personeel, mooie locatie tussen old town en new town. Prima eten en schone nette kamers Geen parkeergelenheid en geen echte bar. Wel een soort lounge bij de ingang. |

Vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Zeer goede ligging tov de bezienswaardigheden(Carlton hill, Royal mile, new town) , shopping centra en openbaar vervoer Voor een prijs van 190 pound per nacht (weliswaar festivalprijs) hadden wij wel wat meer comfort verwacht, een breder bed, en een badkamer waarin minstens plaats is voor 2 personen. En dan was er nog de nieuwbouw bijna vlak onder ons kamervenster, waar, ook op zaterdag reeds voor 7 uur de werkzaamheden opgestart werden. |

Net personeel bij het ontbijt, vriendelijk. Kwamen vragen of je een eitje wilde en hoe (gekookt, gebakken, met spek). Verse pot thee. Er was geen bar aanwezig om wat te drinken. Er waren geen vleeswaren bij het ontbijt, alleen jam. |

Prettig hotel met een fraai uiterlijk. Het hondje op kamer 309 is een bijzondere aanvulling aan het interieur. Goede bedden! Momenteel wordt de straat verbouwd zodat het moeilijk bereikbaar/vindbaar is.o te zien wordt er ook gebouwd dus vraag om een kamer aan de achterzijde (voor het geval). Wij hebben er geen last van gehad. |

Een aangenaam rustig hotel in het centrum van de stad, dat uitstekend als basis kan fungeren om Edingburgh te verkennen. Onze kamer was ruim, de bedden sliepen prima en de kamer en badkamer werden keurig bijgehouden. Er werd een stevig ontbijt geserveerd. Kortom een aanrader! Er was geen lift die toegang gaf tot onze kamer, dat zou een obstakel kunnen zijn. |

De kamer was zeer netjes en sfeervol ingericht, het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en het ontbijt was uitstekend. De ligging is ook prima, je loopt zo het centrum binnen. Het dinner is het restaurant wat aan het hotel verbonden is was ok, maar niet geweldig. Het uitzicht uit sommige kamers is minder omdat men aan de overkant een nieuw kantoorgebouw aan het bouwen is. Hier hebben we echter geen last van gehad. |

Excellent staff in particular - in the restaurant I said I was gluten free and they found bread for me which is quite unusual. Room clean, sheets fresh, food excellent, location brilliant. |

Super friendly staff in the restuarant, Bistro prices and food excellent value especially the early bird offering. Breakfast was very nice and table service which is unusual these days. Extortionate bar prices £4 for a can of beer!!...why don't hotels price their bars sensibly - they would do much more business.Bed was pretty uncomfortable and pillows were like handkerchiefs!! |

I liked the fact that it was central to everything and beside the bus stop and train station. I did not like the fact that I choose the continental breakfast and was not advised at my time of ordering it that there were not any rolls or pastries or croissants left. This was half an hour before they stopped serving breakfast. When i advised reception of this on checking out they did waive the charge for breakfast on that day. |

Breakfasts were abundant, lots of choice, fresh croissants or chocolate-filled pastry, eggs, bacon, yogourt, fruits, porridge, good coffee or tea, etc. Very friendly staff. Their restaurant serves good international and scottish food for dinner. Nice old-fashioned lobby with daily paper to read, and a small bar that serves about 30 different single-malt whiskys for tasting. Rooms a bit cramped but had everything one likes including TV, bath and shower, fridge, desk. Location great--5 minutes from train station and Prince's/George streets, major shopping streets, and across a bridge from the Royal mile, Edinburgh castle, lots of wool shops and whisky shops, Holyrood palace the Queen's residence, etc. etc. Mattresses a bit too soft, could be larger rooms but we didn't spend too much time in room. TV only had a few channels but not really a problem for me. |

Very pleasant, clean, comfortable and nicely appointed room, with a subdued but welcoming decor. Great location just off main road at foot of Calton Hill, near New Town and a pretty stroll across North Bridge to Old Town/Royal Mile. Easy access to Waverly Rail Station, as well. Good value in the heart of what can be an expensive city. The only negative was the construction project across the (very narrow) street, which was under way by 7:30 on a Saturday morning. But that looks to be finished soon ... |

Quietly efficient, all facilities in place as promised. Housekeeping and room service responded well. Good value for money @ GBP 75/- night for two pax with full Scottish breakfast. Quite a "cute" hotel. Though at a good location off Princes Street close to Waverley station, actually a difficult walk with luggage, because the last furlong is an uphill climb. Polite and capable staff, but impersonal. No smoking arrangements whasoever. |

Excellent Customer Service! The front desk is very helpful in providing tourist information. The food and serving staff at the restaurant are just great!!! The room is clean and comfortable. -The room is too warm. |

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night there and would stay there again. It offered a superior and better value experience than many of the mid market hotel chains. My room was lovely, spacious and quiet, and you are 5 minutes around the corner from the action. Lovely hotel. Very good value bistro below. Rather a small quibble but it would be good to warn on the breakfast menu those items that take extra time to prepare. It was beautiful but did not have 20 minutes on the day I was there. |

room was nice, however bed was uncomfortable, room overlooked a cemetary but keep curtains shut and it was fine!! very quiet location for being city centre, easy access from train and bus station, excellent for shops, tourist attractions etc - would stay there again - woman on reception was a bit narky but the rest of the staff were excellent the receptionist was a bit rude when we arrived |

the receptionist was very helpful - she was very informative. the hotel is old with original features - easy less than 5 min walk from the station - our room was on the top floor, so had a fantastic view. although everything was great the one down side was that we had to walk up those stairs - but nothing like a bit of exercise. |
