Steve and Jeni were wonderful hosts in a lovely surrounding. I can't fault anything about our experience, the room was very comfortable especially the bed, the shower was so refreshing and the breakfast set us up perfectly for the day.
Nothing - apart from leaving ;-).
Everything - the sevrice, the generous breakfast, the location. The house was beautifully furnished with great attention to detail. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile to make us feel at home.
The only downside to our stay, which was in winter, although the room had a radiator in, it didn't warm the room enough to be comfortable. Having said that the bathroom was cosy and warm.
The service was excellent, and the owners very informative of the local walks, and even lent us an OS map of the area. Great breakfast with plenty of choice.
Didn't like leaving!
Relaxed atmosphere, first class facilities and excellent service. We had three days there and felt years younger when we left.
The welcome was friendly, the large house was full of character & very clean. The facilities were excellent with modern multi-channelled TV in room, large en-suite and comfortable furnishings. Downstairs lounge available. Superb quality breakfast.
Slightly cold room but it was late October
Very warm welcome.
Rooms were beautiful. Beds very comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud! Breakfast lovely, table set beautifully. Surrounding area made for nice views
The house and grounds were beautiful. The hosts were friendly and helpful and local pub/restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Close to all main Lakes tourist areas. Will definitely return.
The bed was uncomfortable for me being an arthritis sufferer.
Well appointed room with beautiful views. Excellent breakfast. Warm welcome.
Could perhaps be a little warmer although when really cold I understand that the fire is lit in the lounge
Very comfortable with excellent host who made us feel very welcome and gave very good advise regarding evening meals. Local pub more than adequate. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked.
Everything. The accommodation was amazing, the owners were so friendly and made up feel right at home. The location was great, just a short drive into Windermere and a short walk to a great pub with lots of atmosphere and food.
Only that there was no wifi but not really a problem for a weekend.
The owners were very helpful from arrival. Felt at home as soon as we arrived. Room was perfect.
Beautifully decorated throughout. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Perfect venue for a relaxing break.
There is nothing I didn't like about the B&B, the only improvement I would suggest is adding a biscuit to the tea/coffee tray which is normally provided at other B&B's, however if oils etc... damage the furnishing then best left as it is.
We (young couple) loved this B&B, it was beautiful, Steve was very friendly and helpful, our room had great views and the bed was to die for! We did not want to leave. We will definitely be returning when we return to the Lake District.
My boyfriend & I decided to take a last minute 2-night break together in the Lakes, Parsonage House had the best reviews & from the photos, looked absolutely stunning, peaceful & picturesque...we were not disappointed. We had the 'Blue' room, very spacious, gorgeous 4-poster bed, shower for two & a roll top bath, a lovely full English breakfast which was served to us on our first morning sat by the window overlooking the beautiful scenery. Set in an ideal location, providing you have your own transport that is, close enough to many of the Lakes attractions...we spent a day in Coniston & the following morning in Windermere. We were looked after by Steve who was friendly & helpful without being intrusive. All in all a really lovely break in beautiful accommodation & a quiet peaceful location...it seems an injustice to refer to Parsonage House as a simple B&B as it's so much more. We will definitely be recommending it to our friends & if we're ever thinking of planning a break in the Lakes in the future, this will be our first stop.
It is a drive from the town of Windermere that may be a disadvantage for some, but we loved the quite of the country.
The Parsonage House was a delight from start to finish. The owners are warm and friendly with an extensive knowledge of the area. The house was built in mid 1800 and is well maintained with the look of a picture postcard. As there are only 4 rooms the conversation, at the well catered breakfast, is a treasure of information and chat from the previous days activities. The Parsonage House was exactly what we were looking for in our visit to the Lake District and we have boasted of it to all our friends.
Leaving the place.
Everything. The remoteness of the place adds to its charm. The owners were very hospitable, friendly and attentive. Would we come back again? Yes. Yes. Yes.
A very busy arterial road was about 400yds from the house. Although it was not near enough to disturb any guests those seeking real Lakeland solitude might seek accommodation in a property further from the beaten track.
The warmth and efficiency of the owners was outstanding. The rooms and furnishings were beautiful. The breakfasts were tasty. The immediate countryside around the house consisted of lovely rolling meadows. Mountains were in view.
Everything! We had a fabulous stay. The location is great and the staff very friendly. Plus the quality artwork around the house is a real bonus.
Extraordinary guest house from all the aspects. Looking forward to stay there again during next visit to Windermere.
Our stay at Parsonage House was perfect. The hosts are lovely people who couldn't be more helpful. The room was beautiful, clean & comfortable and the food was good.
quiet and away from the crowds of windermere. kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
It is a excellent place to stay.
We liked everything, but it would be unsuitable for anyone without their own transport.
We do nort normally stay in B&B,s but if they were all as good as Parsonage House we most certainly would more often. The rooms were better than many 4 star hotels that we have used. We were welcomed on arrival by Steve, who proved to be an excellent host throughout our two night stay. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.
Everything - beautiful views, spacious room and en suite, comfortable bed, quiet, good parking and access, friendly hosts and a great breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
