We loved the location by the river and church, also walking distance to pubs and restaurants. We loved the breakfast and the beautiful building and sitting room was very comfy.
It was a beautiful hot day but the bedroom was unbearable at night we didn't sleep at all the first night but on the second we discovered there was a fan in the wardrobe but it didn't make much difference. I felt the tiny on suite could have done with updating but that's all really we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and will return.
peaceful and friendly. lovely view over the river and fields.
Meal times a little restrictive.
The history of the site and its surroundings was interesting and the farmhouse setting by the River Wye was very peaceful.
The owner Peter was very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast and the food in the Restaurant was lovely.
Friendly owners. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There was a good selection of breakfast (wife even had a bacon sandwich!) Ideal location for exploring the area.
Low pressure in the shower (we were in the top floor). The spread at breakfast was nasty marge stuff but I'm sure if I had asked proper butter would have been provided (my fault). Entrance on a very tight and semi blind bend caution needed!
Cosy and homely feel. Welcoming and friendly staff. Tremendous breakfast.
Only negative was our shower didn't really have any pressure so it wasn't really usable, lucky there was a bath.
The staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel setting was fantastic the rooms and hotel were very clean and well kept. The views were fab
Peter was fantastic and very knowledgable on the local area. They have a very friendly dog called Frodo who would wander around during breakfast to keep the place under control. Loved it.
The car park was a bit difficult to navigate a way out onto the main road, but we managed.
Beds and linen
Getting in and out of the driveway.
Warm welcome, bed very comfortable, food good.
We didn't like the village.of Tintern it was very untidy, and the road was very noisy. The surrounding area is nice though.
The quiet location close to the river. Nice clean en-suite room with a shower over the bath. Superb breakfast - cereals and cooked !
Entry road a bit difficult for the car & especially getting out onto main road. It was however a virtually private car park.
The owners were particularly helpful to our daughter who was on the route from Land's End to John o' Groats by bike. They provided a safe place for her bike and left her an early breakfast so that she could make a quick start. She found everything excellent.
Historical building Beautiful scenery in the Wye Valley View to the river
Potentially dangerous cat access to the main road due restricted view. A mirror needs to be fitted in the main road to give good view and reduce risk of accident Room on the second floor are very hot in the summer
Accommodation,the,the food,the hosts,location .
We only stayed for one day!
Inspiring place, clean and cosy.
Location, next to river and church. Available guests lounge and honesty bar. Good breakfasts and available evening meals.Size and view of room was great.
Room decor, not worn or unclean, just old fashioned.
car parking inconsiderate guests during one evening, loud talking etc.
The food was of such good quality at breakfast and dinner that we were bowled over. We also loved the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The location allowed us to walk up and down the riverside in both directions, including Tintern Abbey and Tintern Old Station, so no parking charges payable.
Friendly and welcoming. lovely area
Comfortable lounge, good food and friendly staff. Facilities very good and certainly up to the standard expected for this type of accomodation.
Nothing really. Parking is down a narrow laneway and probably only just adequate no of spots but this wasn't a big problem.
Location Choice of breakfast food Evening dinner conversation and interest in our well being
Exit from car park onto main road needed great care!
Very friendly owners. Lovely breakfast.
The hosts and excellent food
