We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Extremely charming, professional and attentive staff who clearly took pride in their work. Exceptionally clean and well maintained hotel. We particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast options. Our room was spacious and pleasant and very well laid out. Good pool and gym. Very pretty setting. Hotel owned Inn on site served a delicious and beautifully cooked carvery. Chef clearly knows how to cook. Quite a find. Will visit again if they can sort out the negatives............. Extraordinary but we witnessed the antisocial and unpleasant behaviour of some local over 70's (clearly regulars) who whilst using the bar, spa and pool facilities were exceptionally rude, aggressive and abusive both in the pool and the bar. They clearly thought it was their right to sit in the conservatory and swear loudly in the course of their conversation and dominate the pool by saying who could swim where and indeed how fast! You couldn't make it up. Suggest the management get a grip on this as they are a very vitriolic bunch. As a guest of the hotel, I don't expect to be on the receiving end of such unnecessary nastiness from people who are surely old enough to know how to behave.

Lovely large room and bed with refreshments available-always a must! Decor very good with modern colours. Plenty of space to move around. Friendly reception staff. The full English breakfast was rather meagre with the minimum of choice on the plate. It looked rather lost. The breakfast staff were very busy so had to wait ages for service. Maybe more staff on the rota to serve would help.

The view from the balcony was tremendous The bed had not been made with clean sheets - indeed there was a pair of underpants in the linen. When advising the staff I was told "well they're not mine. Next day there was no electricity - not the hotels fault but the staff were completely unconcerned that this could be a problem for some of the guests. I was attending the dedication of my sisters headstone she died late last year and had to go with no shower etc - I still haven't been advised what this debacle will cost!!

The location - absolutely fabulous views out across the estuary from a very nice room, well appointed and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay and would go again. Would have liked more menu choices for the evening meal -there were two menus to choose from but there was no change during our 3 day stay, perhaps one or two "specials" each night on a weekly rota.

the food was very POOR and far too expensive for the small amount on the plate. The vegetables allotted for two were minuscule. I would NEVER eat there again even if I stayed.

Breakfast swimming pool was empty Sunday morning which was good! Lack of information from staff when the fire alarm went off on Sunday morning in the pool area - when we saw a member of staff he said 'just carry on with what you are doing' surely he should of told us to evacuate?

The price and location The decor was out dated could do with a refurbishment as there is still a hint of many decades of smoking in the rooms
