The Crown Manor House Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lyndhurst Village, the capital of the New Forest National Park. This boutique hotel offers spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking....
Score from 441 reviews Very good
Built by King Edward VII in 1877 for his mistress, Lillie Langtry, this listed Edwardian manor is a 5-minute walk from Bournemouth's cliff tops and approximately 1 mile from Bournemouth town centre.
Score from 164 reviews Fabulous
Nestled within beautifully maintained gardens, the South Lawn Hotel is located on the edge of the New Forest National Park, while only a mile from the beach and the Jurassic Coastline of Hampshire.
Score from 309 reviews Good
Great location. Good staff.
Needs some updating and investment to turn the slightly dating hotel into something really special as i think it once was. Still stuck in the 1980s in some ways...which is sometimes nice amd traditional, other times just outdated
Good menu and service in restaurant - though a trifle pricey. Beautiful gardens.
Allocated room was at front of hotel and above bar so was quite noisy until around 11pm when things settled down. Indoor pool has a shallow end only 2ft deep which makes swimming lengths a little difficult.
Beautiful gardens, excellent food, friendly staff, great location
Room was small, plumbing was temperamental, and mattress was so solid that it was difficult to sleep
excellent service good food peaceful friendly
The easy, friendly atmosphere. The tree swings and tree house with no notices everywhere. The lovely extensive grounds to explore and the amazing pool. We had a perfect 50th wedding anniversary day and weekend.
The bathroom door very difficult to open and the roman blind in the bathroom.
The setting was lovely - gardens, ponds and a country walk. The four poster room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the staff friendly and helpful.
The menu was a little rich for our taste both in food and price (surely you can have fish and chips without spinach!) - but there are plenty of good places to eat in the area.
A really good location, very pretty
No laundry service that I was aware of A slightly older clientele than I would prefer
Location, rooms were very comfortable and bathroom was well equipped. Breakfast was excellent
it is like a home from home
The setting of the hotel was beautiful The atmosphere was also very good
The amount of stairs and distance to our room - 119
Clean old but very nice friendly staff and we'll trained
Had small room but booked late
The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the heart of the New Forest. Facilities in the hotel were excellent and were the staff!
Hotel bar could have been better stocked, but that's me being picky!
The a la carte meal was excellent and reasonably priced though we did not look at the wine list. The gardens are delightful.
The beds were soft and lumpy
The facilities were good and the location was good
No outdoor pool which would be a real asset were it to be repaired. The evening menu was limited and the food was overpriced. The whole place seemed rather tired and could do with a makeover!
Lovely hotel and grounds that we both enjoyed. Stayed in a Superior Double Room that exceeded our expectations, especially the bathroom. Very helpful and friendly staff, would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a romantic break.
Can't think of anything we did not like
The hotel was so pleasant to stay at! Very quiet! And the staff were outstanding!!
Great service with a smile, having meals in the lounge with the Dog was not an issue. Breakfast was fantastic. Gluten free Bread at Breakfast.
Very pleasant, the manager was very helpful & we even got a free upgrade - perfect!
Sauna was a lil ropey - pool area needs updating.
Good cooked breakfast, nice pool and sauna, nice location in the country.
The WiFi did not work well, especially in the evenings and with mobile devices. My iPad could not connect to the WiFi in the hotel room. Mobile phone coverage is bad though this is not the Hotel's fault!
What a nice find. Set in a lovely location within the New Forest. Easy reach to all parts of Lymington Brockenhurst Beauleiu and Lyndhurst. Lovely grounds and beautiful hotel. very peaceful stay with staff tending to all needs. Food was fantastic. Full English help yourself breakfast was to a high standard and the evening meal with the scallops and black pudding was exceptional as was the steak, second to none. Faultless. Had a small problem with the shower head which we reported to reception who were fantastic by getting it sorted by the time we returned after our day out in the forest. We both had use of the gym, pool and sauna very quiet on both occasions it was lovely. overall a great stay in a lovely hotel with great food, surroundings and peace. Would deffinately recommend and stay again.
Everything about the hotel. In particular the staff. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional.
The evening meal wasn't great. The 'special' we had was overcooked and seemed like it had been prepared and then reheated.
Exceptionally good food in restaurant, but tad expensive. Polite restaurant manager. Nice breakfast service. Beautiful gardens. Maybe some lights in the Monet garden in the night would be nice for evening walks. Very polite/interactive housekeeper!
Socially awkward bell boy. Socially awkward/impolite receptionist. Awfully outdated background music throughout hotel. Lack of receptionist knowledge of area/unwillingness to help with restaurant/activity suggestions.
This hotel is in a great location and looks beautiful
My room hadn't been cleaned properly and parts of it were dusty and the last persons rubbish was still in the bin.
Cosy hotel with character. Definetley would stay here again.
Lovely hotel, beautiful surrounds. Nice view of courtyard from our bedroom. Nice food (bar) Friendly staff
Only downside we had afternoon tea which was not the best. Sandwiches a little dry. Cakes just looked like cut down mr Kipling (May suggest cup cakes or slices of cake, and a wider sandwich option)
