The Carlton Hotel overlooks Swansea Bay in the center of Mumbles Village. Many rooms have sea views. The hotel has been recently been refurbished, and all rooms have a private bathroom.
Score from 269 reviews Good
This beachfront hotel has dramatic views of Swansea Bay, and is a short walk from the center of town. Highway M4, golf courses and the Gower Peninsula are nearby.
Score from 343 reviews Very good
Situated at the heart of Bishopston Valley, the family-run Gower Hotel is only 1.5 mile from the beach. It features a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and parking.
Score from 109 reviews Excellent
Clyne Farm Centre has 9 converted stone barns and cottages with modern facilities, 3 miles from central Swansea and the Gower beaches.
Score from 135 reviews Very good
Very welcoming and helpful staff and excellent breakfast, the room was very comfortable and tidied on a daily basis and supplies ie tea, coffee and water restocked. The wifi was most useful.
A shower screen would have been useful as water went on to the floor. A small fridge to keep drinks/milk cool. Armchairs as opposed to cane would have been more comfortable plus a larger table.
food and service first class position excellent for walking and getting to places to walk
lighting in room poor bedside lights were too small
Great location, beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Great breakfast.
No complaints. Restaurant closed on Sunday so we were disappointed not to eat there. Menu looked great!
Everything's in good condition. Very strong wifi signal, and excellent foods in the restaurant. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walk to taxi station, Joe's ice cream and supermarkets. Just at the beach, so everyday wake up with a good view over the sea. The staff are nice, and one of them provides me with many travel guide booklets.
Can't say anything disliked, but the duvet is kind of old and could be changed with a new and more clean one. The stay is still perfect.
Noise from traffic, birds and lorry collecting bottles early in morning
The room was very spacious and clean.
The restaurant menu was a little expensive and we did not have a sea view although we we were told there would be when we booked
Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Lots of space. Nice view.
The boathouse room facing the sea was noisy with the fans from the kitchens. Needs a little more TLC in the room (e.g. taps and plug sockets loose) but not a problem.
The room was very spacious. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Good breakfast.
The quality of the mattress was poor, very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs. Not good for sleeping with a bad back. It was the only thing we found fault with.
staff were very welcoming relaxed atmosphere lovely food
lack of parking on arrival
Lovely staff and light and airy rooms. Fantastic breakfast and evening meal.
Water pressure upstairs not great.
Excellent, friendly service from staff and owners. Large bedrooms very good restaurant with freshly cooked food for both breakfast and dinner.
Very little not to like here
The room was amazing, massive and with georgeous bathroom, complete with bath robes. Huge comfy bed overlooking the sea.
The price was a bit high and the meals in the restaurant were very expensive and choice was limited.
Fabulous two night stay. Clean friendly and excellent breakfast. Great location. Will definitely return.
spacious stylish room delicious freshly-cooked breakfast friendly helpful staff superb attention to detail
some slight noise from road
Excellent Food ,good quality. Lovely spacious rooms Great Atmosphere (Nice to be in a family run hotel where they are hands on)
Very noisy extractor fan in bathroom , poor water pressure in shower
The business is both efficient and quirky (in a nice sense), large rooms with good en suite and an excellent menu (both dining room and bar).
The daily room service could have been better, eg tissues weren't replaced and there was an absence of dusting.
The Hotel is an ideal location for touring the Mumbles/Gower. The room was very good with excellent facilities and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very tasty. The Hotel is close to the beach and local pubs, restaurants and the Pier.
Rooms big and comfortable
no buffet at breakfast noise from the kitchen unpleasant in breakfast area Rooms far from main bar/hotel lighting in bathroom too low level overall ok but far too expensive for what it is
COMFY ROOMS VIEWS BREACKFAST VERY GOOD
NO AIR CONDITIONING NO PARKING FACILITY FOR A 5 STAR HOTEL CLEANLINESS NOT PERFECT ESPECIALLY IN BATHROOM
All aspects of our stay were excellent
Local Authority collecting glass bottles early in the morning!!!!!!! Parking was a bit of a problem but we managed and that is outside the control of Patricks
Food was fantastic both times we stayed, Wifi actually works unlike other hotels, Staff are lovely and not snobby unlike other hotels, Fresh milk and fridge in our room makes all the difference to the stay!
Room was clean enough but not spotless, would imagine some people would complain about it as there was coffee ring on side table which had not been wiped up but it didn't spoil our stay in anyway so no big deal...also coffee provided wasn't to my taste not sure why but couldn't drink it, may just be me!
We stayed in the suite, a rather pricey£175 a night but it was well worth it. We were treated very well, shown to our room and we were very impressed: a stylish spotlessly clean room with everything you needed and more: it was perfect after a long 20 mile walk! The breakfast was of a high standard, both full English and the breakfast frittata. We definitely didn't want to leave at the end
We liked the quirkiness of the hotel and the breakfasts were excellent. the dinner in the hotel was very good if you choose to eat there. There was also a good bar menu.
We stayed in the boat house on the top floor , a wonderful view of the Swansea Bay but a lot of steps ,not good for elderly or disabled also a steep slope to access the boat house.
Lovely atmosphere Very happy friendly staff Excellent home cooked meals inc soup/bread/cakes Fabulous bedrooms
The steepness of the walk up to the flat and the stairs. Our friends were unable to visit our room as they couldn't negotiate the stairs. No wardrobe only a rail in bedroom.
