The Carlton Hotel overlooks Swansea Bay in the center of Mumbles Village. Many rooms have sea views. The hotel has been recently been refurbished, and all rooms have a private bathroom.
Score from 269 reviews Good
This beachfront hotel has dramatic views of Swansea Bay, and is a short walk from the center of town. Highway M4, golf courses and the Gower Peninsula are nearby.
Score from 404 reviews Very good
This 4-star, 17th-century building boasts rooms with underfloor heating and 28-inch plasma TVs.
Score from 295 reviews Excellent
Overlooking Underhill Park, Langland Road B&B is situated in the heart of picturesque Mumbles. The elegant Victorian house offers hearty cooked breakfasts and 4-star rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 101 reviews Exceptional
Whole place smacked of meaness: Paid £175 a night for 'luxury' room yet: thin cheap mattress which was twin beds not proper double; foam IKEA pillows; extremely thin duvet: curtains did not cover window and let let through; only allowed one course at breakfast - fruit and yoghurt was a main course - no cereal etc
Comfortable, large room and huge bathroom. Very well decorated. Tea and coffee with fresh milk on request. Good variety for breakfast. Friendly reception on arrival.
Black mold on slip mat in bath (told reception on checkout). The hair dryer could do with a longer lead as difficult to see in mirror when blow drying! It was very hot in the room......but the weather was mild.
What can I say. We found that staff were all very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I love how they have different themes in each room. The whole ambiance of the place was so welcoming. The food was lovely. I would certainly stay there again.
Staff were friendly. Bar was comfortable and homely. Good location.
Bathroom suite was dated, tiles old and with poor grouting. Room 5. Very disappointing as we were expecting and paid for 5 star quality! Poor lighting for shaving and make up. Poor furnishings. Meals expensive. Limited choice for breakfast e.g. if you ordered a cooked breakfast you could not have fruit.
The rolltop bath, the sofas in the bar, the huge bed, the food in the restaurant
The peanuts are not salted i.e Monkey nuts - yuck
Good size bedroom and bathroom, very comfortable and thoughtfully kitted out. Not noisy either despite being a Saturday night and located directly on the front. Monkey nuts and cocktails were very pleasant too.
Parking was not possible outside the hotel, no spaces were available. We had to pay to use a carpark which was close though.
Food staff very attentive bed comfy
Radiator constantly gurgling at night obviously air in it also noisy fridge and missing nightstand draw which does not rate a five star.
Very welcoming and helpful staff and excellent breakfast, the room was very comfortable and tidied on a daily basis and supplies ie tea, coffee and water restocked. The wifi was most useful.
A shower screen would have been useful as water went on to the floor. A small fridge to keep drinks/milk cool. Armchairs as opposed to cane would have been more comfortable plus a larger table.
food and service first class position excellent for walking and getting to places to walk
lighting in room poor bedside lights were too small
Great location, beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Great breakfast.
No complaints. Restaurant closed on Sunday so we were disappointed not to eat there. Menu looked great!
Everything's in good condition. Very strong wifi signal, and excellent foods in the restaurant. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walk to taxi station, Joe's ice cream and supermarkets. Just at the beach, so everyday wake up with a good view over the sea. The staff are nice, and one of them provides me with many travel guide booklets.
Can't say anything disliked, but the duvet is kind of old and could be changed with a new and more clean one. The stay is still perfect.
Noise from traffic, birds and lorry collecting bottles early in morning
The room was very spacious and clean.
The restaurant menu was a little expensive and we did not have a sea view although we we were told there would be when we booked
Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Lots of space. Nice view.
The boathouse room facing the sea was noisy with the fans from the kitchens. Needs a little more TLC in the room (e.g. taps and plug sockets loose) but not a problem.
The room was very spacious. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Good breakfast.
The quality of the mattress was poor, very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs. Not good for sleeping with a bad back. It was the only thing we found fault with.
staff were very welcoming relaxed atmosphere lovely food
lack of parking on arrival
Lovely staff and light and airy rooms. Fantastic breakfast and evening meal.
Water pressure upstairs not great.
Excellent, friendly service from staff and owners. Large bedrooms very good restaurant with freshly cooked food for both breakfast and dinner.
Very little not to like here
The room was amazing, massive and with georgeous bathroom, complete with bath robes. Huge comfy bed overlooking the sea.
The price was a bit high and the meals in the restaurant were very expensive and choice was limited.
Fabulous two night stay. Clean friendly and excellent breakfast. Great location. Will definitely return.
spacious stylish room delicious freshly-cooked breakfast friendly helpful staff superb attention to detail
some slight noise from road
Excellent Food ,good quality. Lovely spacious rooms Great Atmosphere (Nice to be in a family run hotel where they are hands on)
Very noisy extractor fan in bathroom , poor water pressure in shower
The business is both efficient and quirky (in a nice sense), large rooms with good en suite and an excellent menu (both dining room and bar).
The daily room service could have been better, eg tissues weren't replaced and there was an absence of dusting.
The Hotel is an ideal location for touring the Mumbles/Gower. The room was very good with excellent facilities and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very tasty. The Hotel is close to the beach and local pubs, restaurants and the Pier.
