We liked everything about the hotel,it was clean food good and was handy for most places we wanted to go. The only thing that let it down for us, was there was no shower in the bathroom,so made it hard to wash our hair at night.

Staff were very accomodating and friendly and an asset to their company, and happy at their work, the atmosphere was warm & inviteing, the food was really good and plenty of choice, location of the hotel was excellant for walking and the great outdoors, yes as one review complained of "squeeky floorboards" very true but on the age of the hotel, "its called character" all in all we'll give it 9 out of 10 & £ for £ its definately worth it

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now and each trip it appears to get better. The last two stays were in the newly refurbished rooms and were faultless and the food has improved vastly since our first stay. Value for money, it cannot be beaten. The staff ar always so friendly and helpfull. As our prime purpose is fell walking, the location is nothing short of superb!! Nothing !!!!!!!

The location of the hotel close to Glenrhydding and surrounding countryside was perfect. The hotel has not been updated in many years and is at best tired inside. The food was dreadful, a 3 course meal was rushed through in 30 minutes, and the staff attutude that of people who did not care about their guests. We checked out after one night of a two night booking in disgust.

Very comfortable. No 'airs and graces'. good food. exceptionally clean. friendly staff. Nothing to strongly dislike. Public lounges would benefit from an update. shampoo/ conditioner and moisture lotion would be appreciated as i had expected these to be provided.

We had a comfortable stay. Full corse dinner was a bit too heavy for us, but it was really delicious. The hotel is a bit busy with many guests. But the staffs were all attentive and helpful. Room was not sound proof. We could hear people walking, floor board creaking through the door. But it was not a big issue for us.

We stayed at the Patterdale Hotel for a birthday celebration weekend. Overall our stay was excellant from the time we arrived, to our departure. The location was just perfect for climbing the surrounding mountains. There was endless hot water on our return from long walks and a great way to relax our tierd aching limbs. The staff were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellant, particuarly the vegetarian option which was very important to us. Superb breakfast especially the freshly cooked options, our favourites being kippers and double poached eggs on toast. Yum ................... Our room was a little small, but clean, comfortable and with a fabulous mountain view. The bar facilities were good but the entertainment on Saturday night not to good to be honest, but the great location of the Patterdale does mean you have choice of other bars and entertainment, so this didnt put us off staying at the hotel again. We are already planning to return to the Patterdale this year. It truly is great value for money, with superb food, staff and a fantastic location. Nothing disappointed us about this hotel. It was Fantastic we had a wonderful weekend and wouldnt hesitate in staying at the Patterdale again.

Excellent value for money. For the price we paid we didnt have too high expectations but were pleasantly surprised. Efficent friendly staff, very clean and good food. The bedroomms were basic but had everything you need even flatscreen tv with freeview. The meals while not gormet cuisine were tasty & efficently served. We have paid a lot more in the past for inferior accomodation. Also we go to the Lake District for the walking & didnt need to move our car in the 3 days we stayed as there are loads of varied walks from the door. The views from the hotel are outstanding & it is worth paying the extra £10 for a room facing the front. We will definatly book this hotel again. The bed was too soft for our taste & the towels a bit scratchy & worn but these were very minor problems.

We found our stay at The Patterdale Hotel to be very enjoyable. Our room had a good view and the food was excellent every day. We enjoyed the live entertainment on Thursday evening too. We had this hotel recommended to us by my Father and Step Mother who had used the hotel previously.

hen we arrived we were geated in a very friendly and effecient way and were made very welcome, all of the staff was very good at making you relaxed even though the weather was bad. Our only disapointment was that our room was a bit on the small size and we found that having a shower was restricting the way the shower curtain is set up.Otherwise we realy enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again.

We stayed on a db&b basis, for the amount we paid the food far surpassed our expectations. The waiting staff in particular were very efficient. Enjoyed the quiz night, even though we were rubbish! Our room was a little small, with the window in a corner which made the room a bit dark, but even so I still think this hotel is great value.

It was very friendly, warm and welcoming. The price for our four nights b&b plus dinner was very reasonable so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and choice of meals. The portions were also ample, much needed after days spent walking on the fells. There was a small drying room available on the second floor, but in such a great walking area, it would be useful to have somewhere to leave dripping items - waterproofs, boots etc before going back upto the rooms. However, I could see that security could then be an issue. Other reviewers mentioned the very speedy throughput at mealtimes. We did notice this a bit, though it wasn't a problem with us and the waiting staff were all very friendly and pleasant. We took the later sitting at dinner so maybe things weren't so pressurised then

All the staff were immediately friendly and helpful. Always a genuine smile and courtesy. The breakfast and dinner were of a high standard, served very efficiently. Comfortable room with everything you might expect. The location is fantastic. Shower water went from scalding hot to tepid sometimes. The decor was a bit dated but some great photographs.

The location is good. The staffs were very friendly and efficient. Particularly the team leader in the restaurant, he had a good observation and made his customers felt very welcome. The bathroom was very clean and spotless. Although there were many choices for breakfast and dinner, we found most of our main courses were overcooked.
