The owners at the New England run a tight ship when it comes to thier b & B. Very friendly, all guests are looked after and nothing is too much trouble. Nice and bright decor and clean. Great to eat your breakfast looking at sea front. Choice of pre breakfast items such as fresh fruit salads, yoghurts etc were extensive and breakfast cooked well. Heating good in room and needed to be, as stayed during very cold spell. Car park was tight so we parked on road outside as there was places to do so. One of the best we have stayed in and would certainly stop again. Not thier fault but double room was a little smaller than I imagined and maybe £80 per night was at top end of what you would expect to pay. Had sea view though which made it just about fair pricewise.

The people running this hotel could not have been more accommodating and made sure that our stay and experience was as comfortable as they could make it. The hotel is clean and really well decorated in keeping with its name. We found that the room and facilities were as good as you would have expected in higher rated hotel than the New England. The breakfast was also of a really high standard with all juices; a good selection of fruit and cereals on offer with the breakfast and toast all cooked fresh and more than adequate to meet a healthy appetite. Also the location of the restaurant at the front of the hotel is really spacious and light and a nice place to sit down and have breakfast. Lastly we found the price really competitive for what the New England where offering and in its prime location and would definably book this hotel again when we stay in Eastbourne again. No dislikes on the hotel only good comments. Like all hotels in Eastbourne car parking is of a premium and could become in the height of the season an issue although the hotel has very limited parking squeezed in for at most four cars but you may find you are blocked in to archive this. However on our stay we found parking not to be an issue off seasons in the roads where there was quite a few parking places.

This was a 2-day weekend break. The New England is run very efficiently by Philip Collins and Steve Tilson, who were both very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. As its name suggests, the decor of the bedroom and dining area was in the New England style, with nice colour pastel colour schemes. Our bedroom was immaculately clean and warm, overlooking the seafront and had a balcony. The bed was very comfortable and there was a decent sized bathroom with toiletries provided. The breakfast room overlooked the seafront and connected with a comfortable lounge. A good selection of breakfast items, including a tasty full English breakfast was provided. A benefit of the location at the east end of the sea-front was less noise than the central area. Having stayed in a central sea-front hotel the previous year, we would certainly return to The New England for any future visits. Wifi is supposed to be available in the lounge but I could not get it to work. I managed, instead, with a good strong 3G signal.

I think we can only reiterate the comments of other travellers who stayed at the New England. The communal rooms were clean and attractive with a 'sea-side' theme. The bedroom was in similar style, warm and well appointed. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. Steve and Phillip were welcoming and ready to advise on where to eat, bus travel and I'm sure many other things if asked. We enjoyed our stay and would most certainly visit again. We found nothing we didn't like.

The house was lovely and cosy, our room although small(we had booked the small double) had everything needed for a short stay. The breakfast was very well cooked and presented.. The hosts were very friendly but not too intrusive. We will stay there again on our next visit.

This hotel was in a great location - close to the centre of town with all the restaurants, shopping and bars, and right opposite the beach. The friendliness and efficiency of the hotel owners was faultless, we felt at home right away. The breakfast is fantastic and most certainly good value for money; the restaurant faces the sea, which we also rather liked. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Eastbourne. Our only complaint is that the room was rather small, there was barely room for two people to move around comfortably - it was advertised as a "small double" though so we were forewarned. However this room might be better for a one night stay rather than several nights.

We really liked the decor, service, excellent breakfast and general abience of the hotel. The room was not huge, but the bed was large and very comfortable. Crisp white cotton linen and lovely fluffy white towels and blackout curtains! Have already recommended The New England to friends and family! Some older people might find negotiating the stairs a little awkward, but Phil would be on hand to assist if necessary.
