Excellent location and friendly staff It was in desparate need of an upgrade. The breakfast room was located in the basement and should have been on the ground floor where the splendid view was - rather than reception and tv lounge.

Nothing, we ended up not staying at the hotel, the rooms were damp and smelt awful, the bedding was dirty. The whole experience was disgusting. Everything, the place is a hostel and not a hotel.

Well situated, opp the Winter Gardens Theatre, and 5 mins walk from town centre, buses & train station and of course the seafront/sandy beach. A warm, friendly welcome from (what appears to be) an exclusively family- run b&b (at least in the off-season). Tea/coffee making facilities in room (essential for the British holiday-maker), mini fridge to keep the beers in (unstocked!) , firm bed with crisp sheets, and (wonder of wonders) a sea-view ! (the first for us in many years of hotel stays). The Pavilion is part & parcel of the faded charm of what was once one of our premier seaside resorts, Margate. For security reasons (possibly due to some of the more undesirable characters in the town) you will need to buzz in to gain admittance day & night. Cooked breakfast was on a self-serve basis from 'hostess trolley' style food heaters which, whilst there was plenty on offer, were not able to keep the food above cold/luke warm. 30 seconds in the micro would have made a great deal of difference!

The proximity to the Lido where I went for my night out. The staff were very friendly. The room was very small; the tv was very small, old, the picture was very fuzzy and there was no remote so couldn't change the channels. The bathroom was incredibly small and the shower cubicle was old and mouldy.

Very happy and helpful staff. They were able to give good advice about where to go for food nearby. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was warm. It was good to be able to open a real window, even though the view over the back yard was a bit depressing. Plenty of available coffee/Tea/cups etc. Very good, and easy to work, shower. The cabinet over the sink was low and deep, meaning that access to the sink was complicated, and often banged head while/after cleaning teeth. Room itself needed a coat of paint. Lighting poor for reading in bed. I guess the place is 'work in progress', and just felt a little 'tired', and in need of updating, overall. Then again, it was ok 'Value for Money'. I would probably have been less satisfied if I had been staying for more than one night.

The location was ideal - very close to the bars, pubs and shops but with a fantastic Sea View from the room, The family who run the hotel were very accomodating and friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel, a traditional seaside feel.

Nothing positive about this hotel and therefore my stay there. The room was very very hot - the shower was dirty and little kitchen was filtfhy - the window was broken posing a threat for my son due to teh fact that his bed was just under this window - the staff said that it just broken the day before and could not find anyone to fix it!!!!! What about Health & Safety????? However we got a fun which help us get through the night. When we went to have our breakfast there were not table available and when finally one became available none came to clear up the table; we had to put everything aside ourselves (a bit of hospitality training it would not do any arm?!). Anyway, I partially blame booking.com on the fact that this hotel should not being on their website: have you see the review? They speak by themselves!!!! Would definitely not coming back again!!!!!!!!

The location, it was a ten minute stroll into the heart of the town. Old, run down, over priced and dated. Our room was small and the walls were very dirty above the bed. There was a very high step to negotiate in and out of the shower. The "en-suite" smells of blocked drains and there was nowhere in the shower to put anything. The view from the window was of a back yard full of rubbish and the windows were very dirty. Contnental breakfast was included but the cereal was stale and we gave it a miss after the first day. We will not be going back.

The staff were very friendly indeed I could not have asked for anything more from them, I really felt like I was valued and looked after every time I saw them we had a good 10 min chat I was not once thinking I want to leave the chat because it was very good and friendly. I had to cancel a booking for one night due to family reasons and they very nicely did this and refunded myself the cost for the room ALTHOUGH they did not have to according to the terms & conditions that I agreed to so they do try hard. Now there was only 2 things wrong with my stay there, I had a big leak in my room once told about this we moved the wardobe and then they only threw towels on the floor. They did not call anybody or change my room and IT TURNS out they know of the problem and IF SOMEONE upstairs flushes the toilet the pipe that leaks is the pipe that supplies the fresh water back to it THANKFULLY lol. And the second thing is the BATHROOM was nowhere as clean as you would EXPECT one to be and the shower system was pretty poor. BUT I only paid around £30 pound per night so I KNEW it was not going be the hilton and it was a last minute decision so didnt have the time to look for others. AS A SHORT STAY PLACE this is perfect but just dont expect it to be too high standard.

I liked the fact that I was able to easily attend the broadstairs folk festival every day I thought the breakfast was frankly pathetic, I was prepared for a continental breakfast, but when I entered the dining room I was shocked at how amateurish the whole thing looked, I mean who serves scones and fruit cakes in the morning , croissants , ham , cheese , had to make your own toast and a poor selection of cereals
