The rooms were nicely furnished and cosy. The proprietor was very friendly and found time to talk to us. the food was very good. A nice place to stay if you want to get away from it all. All in all a very pleasant stay. If I have one criticism it would be that it would have been nice to have some background music in the bar/restaurant. Couldn't fault the Peacock in any other way.

Lovely hotel in very quiet location. Building encompasses charm and comfort. Meals are very good and everything was reasonably priced. The peacock beer is very good. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in for many years. Everyone at the Peacock is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome.

The Peacock Hotel is one of the best Hotels that we have stayed at, it was not our first choice as we usually stay elsewhere but they were fully booked and we came across the Peacock Hotel by chance on the internet, what a lucky find it was too, friendly and polite service good food and the most comfortable bed ever !! Nothing is too much trouble for Martin and his Staff. We have decided that we shall always use this Hotel when staying in the area in future and we would recommend it to everyone. Thanks for a great stay,

Hotel has very pleasant Staff, the Owner/Manager was very friendly. The restaurant was excellent, the chef seems to really know what he is doing and the service was very good. The location was very relaxing in really nice countryside and the overall accomodation was very good for a 3 Star. We are a mature couple who have stayed in many varying hotels in many varying locations in persuit of our walking pastime and this was one of the best value for money stays. We will return..

We are currently living in Greece and were visiting family so wanted to stay somewhere close to Chinnor. We checked internet for hotels in this location. The Peacock ticked all boxes but we knew nothing about it. As stay was only one night we decided to 'chance it'. We just wished we had time to stay much longer!! Hotel, tucked away at the end of a quiet village, with fantastic views over the fields and hills was very welcoming and clean without being fussy. Very friendly but attentive staff, evening meal was really good and breakfast was excellent. We had no complaints at all and will be booking again on our next trip to uk

Beautiful spot in the Bucks countryside. Perfect location for visiting family in Aylesbury for Xmas and getting a "quaint English pub" atmosphere. Rooms very well appointed with super compfy bed, full Freeview tv and superb breakfast with good choice, hot coffee and proper sausages. Although a little remote (must have car to access as down a country lane) the beauty and charm is worth it. Great owner with nice dry sense of humour who genuinely has passion for the place. Would love to stay in summer. Thanks for a great stay. No background music at breakfast - but, on speaking to the owner, appreciate why not.

My partner & I stayed two nights on a special deal, for my birthday the Hotel & staff could not do enough for us. We requested a king or queen bed and in the deal we had did not expect our request to be met, but yes the room was a king and lovely. The food in the restuarant was excellent good choice and well presented. The staff and Martin were great seemed a happy team, we could not get mobile signal around the hotel and had family breavement and they contacted the hotel who did not know it was a breavemnt but they made their phone available at no charge, could not be more helpful. Would recommend the place to anyone as plenty of wonderful places to visit around the area, hope to visit agaiin.

The staff were friendly and the service was very good. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, nicely cooked with fresh ingredients. As the building is very old the room was fairly small. It was however well decorated and clean.

“Excellent location for me (I was working in Thame). The accommodation is comfortable, quiet with freeview ,wifi & kettle etc. I had breakfast both days, two perfect poached eggs & on morning two a very good cooked breakfast (nice snorker!). The caffetier coffee was particularly good. The landlord (Jerry) and his wife are friendly & welcoming. Nice choice of beers with three cask bitters (very well kept) and the locals told me, well priced for the area. Only had dinner one evening; Steak with Roquefort butter & rhubarb brule - both very good & reasonably priced. I'd highly recommend the Inn at Emmington & will stay there when next in the area.” Marcus, Baglan |
