Lovely quiet location overlooking fields and few scattered houses. Very friendly and helpful staff. Attractive bar/restaurant with varied menu-basic bar meals and more adventurous-reasonably priced. Large room with spacious bathroom. Since this was a double room with plenty of space it would have been nice to have two chairs rather than just one.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, very friendly. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, looked newly decorated and had a superb view of the countryside. The price of the room included a full english breakfast and the hotel also had a pub with an excellent dinnermenu. The hotel is very well located for a visit to Oxford or walks in the countryside.

i was able to relax away from a very busy and hectic lifestyle and was able to be alone that there are too many security cameras that it makes you feel that you are been watched at all times

We are currently living in Greece and were visiting family so wanted to stay somewhere close to Chinnor. We checked internet for hotels in this location. The Peacock ticked all boxes but we knew nothing about it. As stay was only one night we decided to 'chance it'. We just wished we had time to stay much longer!! Hotel, tucked away at the end of a quiet village, with fantastic views over the fields and hills was very welcoming and clean without being fussy. Very friendly but attentive staff, evening meal was really good and breakfast was excellent. We had no complaints at all and will be booking again on our next trip to uk

My partner & I stayed two nights on a special deal, for my birthday the Hotel & staff could not do enough for us. We requested a king or queen bed and in the deal we had did not expect our request to be met, but yes the room was a king and lovely. The food in the restuarant was excellent good choice and well presented. The staff and Martin were great seemed a happy team, we could not get mobile signal around the hotel and had family breavement and they contacted the hotel who did not know it was a breavemnt but they made their phone available at no charge, could not be more helpful. Would recommend the place to anyone as plenty of wonderful places to visit around the area, hope to visit agaiin.

An idyllic Chilterns setting. Perfectly quiet countryside retreat. Superb dining experience, with great menu and service. Real ale on tap, real fire and friendly regulars. Staff friendly too. Nicely decorated and furnished room. Ours had a lovely countryside view. The sunrise over the misty fields was a beautiful start to the day. Our room was cold, with the main room radiator not working, whilst oddly the bathroom towel radiator was blazing away nicely. Luckily there was a thermostatic electric heater in the room, keeping us warm. We asked for the radiator to be looked at, it was but to no avail. Also our room was above the kitchen, so it was a bit noisy whilst breakfast was being prepared

The staff were friendly and the service was very good. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, nicely cooked with fresh ingredients. As the building is very old the room was fairly small. It was however well decorated and clean.

The staff were friendly but for the price the room was small and in need of repair in a couple of areas. I wouldn't stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times on business, and the company has also organised conference meetings here. The staff; from the owner down are always welcoming and attentive to your needs, the atmosphere, is old English pub / coaching house relaxed style, whilst the bed rooms are modern and functional. The hotel has recently been extended and now incorporates good wheelchair access. The restaurant delivers a good and varied menu and the specials board can venture towards the gourmet. The hotel is located off the beaten track in a little village called Henton approx. 15 minutes drive from junction 6 of the M40 the lane through the village is a cul-de-sac, so there is little or no traffic noise and sitting outside on a summers evening is very peaceful.

The food was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome. The bed was really comfortable, we stay at hotels a lot and would like to say that the bed is the best one by far. I would say the same about the food. We had to leave early for personal reasons and we were really disappointed that we couldn't stay long enough to experience the full English breakfast, because we were sure it would have been lovely, hopefully next time. There is nothing to dislike.
