Friendly attentitive staff Clean comfy rooms
This is a comfortable hotel that is close to centres like Stonleigh Park (10 mins by car) where I was attending an event. The price was commensurate with the facilities offered and reasonable.
Would have liked a tastier sausage in the English Breakfast as the one served looked rather anaemic. This was, however, the only criticism.
single room a bit small
The friendliness of all the staff.
The stairs! But they do add to the character.
Pictures on the walls Comfy beds Bath in bathroom! Big mirror on wardrobe! Dimmer chandelier! Really nice breakfast, sausages were "lush"!
Everyone of the staff were so freindly and helpful. The room was comfortable with the facilities far beyond expectations. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time.
The room was lovely clean and didn't smell funny.
Nothing only the bed was uncomfortable and shower was not very power full.
Location was great for us. We could get to the places we wanted to very easily.
had go and order our own breakfast service was slow
Good breakfast and wifi good too.
Requires updating but convenient for one night
The staff were excellent, very welcoming & proffessional.
I was in room 201, the bathroom was very nice, clean, but the shower was more of a drip feed than a shower. The bath was nice though.
Staff were quick to find us another room when the first one offered was too small. Restaurant was very nice as were the breakfasts
Spacious room Great bathroom Friendly & very helpful staff - nothing was a problem for them Hearty breakfast Clean room
TV remote didn't work (not a great problem)
Good food in the hotel restaurant. Interesting decor and 4-poster bed
Deluxe room had a comfortable 4 poster bed and an eclectic mix of decor
The lady on reception and serving meals was very pleasant and helpful. The location was suitable for close proximity to a variety of places to eat. It was clean.
The man serving meals was less than helpful, to the point of being ignorant. We stayed for two nights with breakfast and as my husband has a gluten intolerance the very helpful lady receptionist suggested extra bacon in place of sausage for breakfast ( she was already aware a gluten free diet was required from our email ) My husband requested the gluten free bread the first morning at breakfast to be told there wasn't any, after explaining we had been told there would be by the lady receptionist the previous day the waiter then went off to the kitchen to ask. There was gluten free bread after all but no apology. Breakfast was then ordered with a request for extra bacon as the sausage was not gluten free. Along came the breakfast with one small piece of bacon which we did not complain about but the next day repeated the request ( a bit louder as you never know the waiter may not have heard, after all he never acknowledged the request) The same again, one small piece of bacon. We told the lady who was also serving and she apologised and immediately went into the kitchen and brought out a plate with 3 large rashers of bacon on. My husband also had a terrible nights sleep on the very small and uncomfortable twin bed. When he told me he could feel every spring in the mattress we noticed that the bed I had slept on had a mattress protector on and his just had the bottom sheet straight on to the mattress. He asked the cleaner who was doing the rooms and she kindly said she would see what she could do. She did indeed get a mattress cover put on and he had a better nights sleep and was ok as long as he remembered not to turn over as there was no room to. We expected to have 2 single beds but these were like childrens beds.
Room was v small
WiFi could have been better
The lady at reception was very nice and helpful and apologetic . The night porter serving breakfast was very nice.
Our sons room had a smelly bathroom no opening window and he could hear the people snoring and walking about. Our room was OK but we had dirty clothes from a previous guest in the drawers. We couldn't get a glass of lager as there was none in the hotel. The only beer on offer was Becks. The breakfast on the morning was very poor standard and the tea served was Luke warm. The night porter was in need of a clean shirt as personal hygiene was an issue. From our first visit 3 years ago this hotel has deteriorated greatly and is not worthy of a 3 star status. Would I stay here again DEFINATELY NOT.
Key cards didnt work (havent worked for months apparently) Shower had no hot water Cold bath Dusty room CD player didnt work Restaurant naff tropical theme Manager combative
My toilet seat was broken
Clean and comfortable room with nice complementary toiletries.
Water flow in the shower was poor.
Quiet location, the room was adequate and breakfast good.
Good breakfast, nice breakfast room, had a good sleep too, hairdryer provided, lovely town, room at the back was quiet, no sounds from other people in the full hotel coming through, only bird calls, electric sockets eg for mobile charger is next to bed stand and also some at desk.
Total lack of wifi, in the room and even in the lobby, on android and on ipad, tried different logon passwords too. The lady said it was due to 'weather', I don't think weather has anything to do with it standing next to the socalled router. Clearly wifi router did not work at all. I had been more satisfied had the lady said they were having problems with the router they were not able to fix then, blaming the 'weather' is not satisfactory at all. So, if you need wifi, do not go to this hotel. No 3G access on O2 mobile in room or lobby either. The shower requiring a separate switch flicked in the room which was placed above the bed, not at/near the door to the shower room, was odd. A message posted in the shower room with such an instruction would be helpful. The parking was very cramped as the hotel was full. But still able to park so that is good I suppose. Would have been very difficult with 4x4.
Clean and tidy, well decorated, friendly staff... Alan was a star!
