The hotel was well located and we found the staff most friendly and efficient in terms of reception and booking in. Food was good but spoilt by very slow service even charging for such service -see below Rather surprised that no mention that Indian cuisine only on menu -my wife not keen on spicy foods. however guided by waiter to suitable dishes. Very slow service in Lagoon restuarant -30 mins before starter arrived with similar wait before main course. Offer of a complimentary drink would have been a goodwill gesture. Instead charged for all extras with 10% service charge! |

Checking out The bed was extremely uncomfortable, room service appauling (50 mins for a portion of fries and a coke!) and the curtains didn't even fit the windows to block out the light. |

The food in the Coconut Lagoon restaurant was excellent! Also the Raffles restaurant, a few mins walk away, was well worth a visit. All the staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room we were first shown (001) was very small and had no outside view - the only window was too high up to see through. It was very claustrophobic and dungeon-like. Fortunately, we were able to move to another room (004). This, too, had no outside view (just frosted glass in the fire exit door) and so impossible to open a window/air the room or indeed look outside. But, being bigger, this second room was much better! Room facilities good (nice to get bottled water). Water pressure in shower and bath was poor. |
