The way I was treated on arrival was excellent. All of the staff were very helpful during the whole of my stay. Dinner was overpriced. I thought that nouvelle cuisine was mostly phased out now!

It was a very unique experience, very restful and quiet. Beautiful surroundings. Staff friendly and helpful. A place I would be happy to revisit. Food in the brasserie very good, service very good and personal too. The only criticism I would make is the corridor downstairs to reception, where there was often a slightly unpleasant smell, a mixture of old food smells and possibly toilets. I didn't like the half glazed door to the toilets either.

What is not to like, the area it's the friendly staff the room size and bathroom including the free toiletries the whole atmosphere of the place the activists. As you might guess I'm a big fan of the place. I don't have anything to say negative about the place.

Fantastic building, great for a quiet getaway and all the birds and peacocks outside were lovely. It's definitely a beautiful spot and despite a good few inches of snow, it was very cosy and snug. Breakfast was really tasty, particularly the menu was available. Amazing bedrooms, corridors, halls, nooks and rooms – it was nice to feel free to roam these by the last day and to take our drinks to where we wanted to explore and sit – this wasn’t made obvious so we didn’t do it until the last night. The second bar might function better as the main bar when weddings aren’t on? Was very cosy with the fire in reception. The castle has enough genuine history without having to resort to so much stock imagery (kitchen) and King Arthur clichés. The real history was fascinating to find out on our iphones but in would have been nice to have some of that in the actual castle. Bizzarley postcards were hidden away and had to be asked for. Surely should be free and in the spaces so people get them out into circulation. The quality of the cards wasn’t representative of the space. Running out of hot water seems bizarre in a hotel – I had a cold shower each day. When we reported the shower control didn’t work this was quickly fixed although didn’t fix the above. There was some minor interior design things that got to me, generally good though. Normally I would notice a lot. Food in the brasserie wasn't representative of the quality elsewhere in the castle. Felt it needed to be cheaper and/or presented more respective of the quality throughout other areas…..this actually pushed us out to find cheaper nicer food and drink. A minor thing, but all the marketing material lacked the finesse you would expect from a place like. Inconsistent design, pixelated logos, poor quality print. Only noticeable to someone in that profession, but just didn't do the place justice. Lovely place let down by some easy fixes!!

We liked the location and the medieval castle . The brassiere was good value .The surrounding countryside was magnificent .. The room we were given had plenty of stile and was adequate . The room could have benefited from extra heating but it was the coldest time of year when we visited

The setting was amazing, with the long driveway which at the time was covered in snow, beautiful The only downside and I'm being picky here is that we had to ask for tea, coffee and toast at breakfast. The waiting on staff didn't didn't come and ask

Location was amazing No bar open to guests when a function is on. Staff were rude, mumbled their questions and offered us used items from other customers! Not worth the price we paid for the night and will never stay there again.

Although the building is very grand - the rooms, communial areas and service all have a feel of comfort and intimacy about them. They also manage to separate wedding guests/events from people just staying in the hotel. Central heating was a bit noisy during the night

The setting and castle itself are breath-taking, beautiful and romantic. All of the staff were very well trained to be respectful, courteous yet warm and friendly, not easy to achieve! Our room was sumptuously furnished and decorated with tasteful and stylish pictures and photos of parts of the castle. The four-poster bed was very comfortable and huge. We will definitely be staying here again! There was nothing not to like!

The castle is beautiful, set in beautiful surroundings. The staff are well mannered, well trained and extremely knowledgable about the castle and its history. Nothing is too much trouble even to the extent that when browsing around the inner castle after a fantastic evening meal we came across who I believe to be one of the duty managers who asked if we would like a tour which we did. His knowledge was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We will most definitely stay again and would recommend Peckforton Castle to others.

The castle was amazing, we were attending a wedding there and it was the perfect day! The room was spacious will all of the facilities needed. Breakfast was superb!! We paid £200 for a 4 poster bedroom which seemed alot of money for a sunday night and it was 2 days before christmas. The room was lovely but the 4 poster bed did not have curtains that you could close on it which was dissapointing as I was looking forward to the experience! The room was cold when we arrived and took a good while to heat up with the one tiny heater that was in there. However...the bathroom was actually freezing - with no source of heat, we could see our breath in there and had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times to keep the bedroom warm! The shower in the morning in what felt like subzero temperatures was not ideal! We did not make any complaints as we were at a wedding and didnt want to make a fuss, however I would have done if this were any other stay.
