Found a rotten muffin under the bed
The price and location were the key factors for us and Peckham lodge delivered. Our room was clean, the staff were friendly, the room was fine. for £60 in london you can't ask for more. Mid renovation as well so likely to get better. Peckham is 'gentrifying' to the dismay of many locals and the delight of developers and landlords but definitely has its rougher elements. However, if you want to experience real london before it disappears go to Peckham
it is what it is. It's cheap, it's clean, it's friendly. You can't expect the ritz for £60 for 2
-cleanliness -rooms are constantly being cleaned and shampoos and soaps are provided at all times
-time allotment to stay in the reception was 15 minutes maximum -charges of 2 British pounds for checking in of luggages at the reception while waiting for room to be unoccupied
The main benefit to staying here was that it was cheap, and we are a group of college students. Also, one (and only one) of the hotel's staff members was very nice to us and went out of our way to help us.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the springs were going into my shoulders and legs all night. The majority of the staff was unfriendly and short with us. The room's heat did not work the whole week we were there, we were absolutely freezing. The room was very cramped, after fitting out luggage we barely had any walking room. The hotel is at least a half hour bus ride from anything in the city. We got used to the long commute, but keep that in mind for when you're planning your time. Also, we saw an advertisement for continental breakfast, which isn't true. You have to pay to eat their breakfast.
The night receptionists were very kind and helpfull and so the morning ones.
The room was very noisy
good value for money - in general exceeded my expectations based on price paid
Shower termostate did not work - whater was near boiling point so missed my shower this time around
Single room very poor and not habitants
The atmosphere was decent for a hotel where you stay only at night.
The shower head was broken and nobody fixed it during our 3 day stay. Also the door key used to not work everytime after the room was cleaned by the staff. It wasn't a big issue but it was annoying to go back to the reception to tell about it after a long day in the city.
The black lad that works in the night time is very helpful and kind. I also asked for towel and sheets and it was given to me, which was nice.
I didn't like the iron or ironing board. Also my room could have been kept better from hair lying around in the carpet, and I had to ask to get the bins emptied.
Nice clean room, friendly staff
The toilet smelt
The appearance from the outside. Cheap. Great and free wifi in the room.
The location. It is very far from town. At first we always took the overground trains, but it was really difficult and required a lot of changes and the station was a 15 minute walk to the hotel. We found out that buses depart right outside, however, it takes about 50 minutes to get into town (Oxford street). We asked the staff if there was a faster way of travel except for taxis, for example if it was possible to take a bus to a subway station and they told us it wasn't possible. After a bit of a research we found out that there was a faster way of getting to town. Just take the bus (there are 3 or 4 different buses you can take and they depart every 3-5 minutes right outside the hotel) and change to the subway at Elephant and Castle and it will "only" take you about 30 minutes to get to Oxford Street. I also didn't find the location very safe, especially at night. The smell. The hotel room had a horrible smell coming from the drain and the room was very damp making it hard to sleep. We didn't pay for air-condition, but I doubt that would have made any difference. The staff. The staff was rude and unknowledgeable and we had to ask twice to get an extra pillow to our room because they forgot the first time. The bed. The bed was uncomfortable and there was only one night stand instead of one on each side of the bed. The noise. We didn't have a lot of guests living in our hallway during our stay but once someone passed the noise came straight into the room due to a huge gap in the front door.
Location was good. Busstop was right next to the hotel and only 20 minuts driving to the downtown area
In the Hotel room there was a lot of moisture, therefore a bit of mold some places. Would not stay there a long time but sleeping two nights was ok.
Only stayed one night, straight forward check in, room compact but clean and tidy, large shower. Easy access to bus (200m) for all london areas.
Staffs in Reception are helpful. Bus stops are within walking distance. Nice English breakfast.
Non sound -proofing room.
Staff are good and helpful Room was clean and tidy
No wardrobe or bedside cabinet room fealt a little damp and had no heating tv won't show any BBC channels
Room plus bathroom 24 reception open Modern key roomkey system Friendly personel
Distance to center, 30 minutes by bus, but that was known before; no problem.
The installations, bed, bathroom were nice. The cost is not expensive. The location is good, not so near to London's attractions, but is ok. Bus stop near to the hotel.
The room has a lot of noise. People walking and maybe people from the hotel's staff doing some cleaning.
staff were friendly and helpful. breakfast(full english) was excellent value.room was perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay. bathroom was a good size.
the room key! couldn't get on with the key card. being honest, that was our problem, the staff member who we asked to help, got in the room straight away!
Bed was too hard
Parking £15.00 per night
The receptionist is very rude, we asked for directions and they were not helpful at all plus they treat you like if ur stupid. The carpet in the room was wet and it smelled awful. I dont recommend this place to anyone.
Good customer service Close to business Clean
Bed not comfortable Pillows too thin and ucomfortable
The furniture and equipment of the room looked new. The rooms were clean.
Absence of the fridge. It was cold during the night and as the bed is not far from the window you might get cold if you are not used to it. The rooms are extremely small.
Advert was deceiving as I thought it was a hotel. Photos of bedroom give a false impression There was no wardrobe. Carpet was not hoovered shower had scale marks. No glasses for water
I have hard that there could be some problems with heating and cleaning but I did not see anything of those. It's simply good price for the accomodation standard you pay for.
