The staff were very friendly, and the food good. The room was small, but offset by the excellent location, and views from everywhere. St Ives was a very short stroll, and lots to see. Coastal walks were on the doorstep.

The sea view, the cliffs, the good food, the nice staff, the althrough friendly atmosphere. Comfortable double bed. Excellent breakfast! The dressing room for the pool was not in order, though the pool area was open. The door to the toilet was hard to open, due to the thick carpet in the room.

The hotel was perfect, I felt very comfortable as someone travelling alone. The views from the hotel bedroom and terraces were magnificent. I had a double room, but had I been travelling with my husband I would have found the room too small. The bathroom was so small that it did not include the sink. Other than that quite perfect for me.

Fantastic sea views from every room. Easy access location. Friendly but not intrusive staff. Carpet around the bedroom basin (unhygienic). The curtain prevented there from being enough space in front of the basin in the single room (blinds would solve this).

The position and location of the hotel is just great. All the staff were pleasant. The room was incredibly small and we couldn't take advantage of the seaview when in the room as there wasn't enough room to sit and look! There was insufficient room to provide for a normal bathroom door so the entrance was by narrow, double 'cupboard style' doors. The room was so cramped and disappointing that we avoided using it outside necessity.

The recent refurbishment of the Bar Area & Restaurant and upgrade of shower in bedroom have certainly improved the overall standard of the hotel. The staff as always were excellent and the food from the bar menu was very good

The location is fabulous! The food was ok - but not great. The room we had was overlooked by the roof terrace. Not quite the private retreat we hoped for. The room was very small

The view was wonderful, the staff friendly and the breakfasts great. The upgraded room we were moved to later was lovely. The room we were initially in was freezing and there was a leak so we had to be moved late at night. The lack of parking facilities were a problem.

The receptionist was a very positive, confident character who couldn't have helped us enough. The views from the hotel were fantastic. The restaurant and bar were lovely. Enjoyable breakfast with a very attentive young waiter. Wonderful location.

the location was excellent and ideally placed to enjoy St.Ives, which was fantastic. The staff were very good and made us feel very welcome. The bar and dining areas had a nice feel about them (even though you were just about to refurbish them!). The views from the bar area and bedrooms were great. No car parking, but we expected that in a traffic freen village. The outside areas looked and felt a little tired but we appreciated that you were just about to start a major refurbishment.

We have traveled all over the UK and stayed at many hotels and B&Bs. We have often been pleased with our accomodation, but until now we've never been ''Blown away'' with such beauty as we found at the The Pedn Olva!! We arrived in the dark (As it was a dark winter's night) and were shown to our room with its own front door to outside and a path to the beach!! Our bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in!! Our room sat 30 feet above from the sea which came in around us as we slept listening to the sound of the ocean .. I've never known such tranquility!! I awoke to open the curtains to what I can only describe as Paradise!! The sun rising above the sea and a view looking back to the beach and St Ives hills. Absolutely breath taking!! My 10 year old daughter was welcomed and spoken to happily and our breakfast was delicious and served in a restaurant with a view over the same beautiful bay. As we left to walk back to our room, a seal swam up to the sea near to our path!! dolphins were also seen playing further out. Then we walked down the hotel path to the beach .. I can not begin to explain the beauty of this place!! I would happily honeymoon here!!! EXCEPTIONAL comes part way to it's description!! Reccommend it 100%!! If I have to burst its perfect bubble a little, one of the breakfast waitresses was a bit rude.

Location, Location, Location - stunning setting and views. Nice friendly staff Close to Railway Station (left car at home) also just 10 mins from town centre by foot The Scrambled Egg was excellent Really liked our Room (family Room 15) - really cosy feel to it Needs a bit of reinvestment by the owners - a lick of paint or two and some replacement of existing fixtures/fittings, has potential to be the best hotel in St Ives
