I always read the reviews on websites before I choose a hotel, and they got this one bang on. From the moment I land at the hotel I knew it was going to be fine. The staff were great the minute I land, the room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The best part was the breakfast a true full English. And the host Ken made me laugh watch out he's a big Liverpool supporter !!!!! Overall a very nice place to stay. I would recommend it to stay at. Good value for money
Staff were friendly and accommodating, flexible about our check out time and helpful with our queries. Lovely bathroom, nice hot, powerful shower.
We were in room 8, on the top floor, the ceiling is very sloped which meant half of the room wasn't really useable. It would have been nice to have been informed of this when booking. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable, bed extremely firm and the pillows unsupportive. General decor of the room was a bit tired, peeling plasterwork for instance.
The cleanliness was exemplary. The cooked breakfast was hot but not dried up.
The exit is not easy but you just need a bit of patience
Beautiful house and grounds. Well equipped rooms and very kind staff.
We had a beautiful room and the receptionist helped carry our bags to the groom. It was very quaint and had all we needed and more. Really enjoyed our stay
The conservatory was lovely and the breakfast was wholesome and plentiful. The owners and staff were very friendly and I enjoyed my stay as a solo traveller
More than happy to extend our booking out time so we could have showers after competing in the Wirral Triathlon
Staff were friendly and accommodating
The rooms were modern, the rest of premises very shabby and old as was the outside and surrounding A area. £7.50 per night is outrageous for this below standard hotel as was the price of the room. Not sure how it achieved its award. Would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone else. Very disappointec
Lovely room, great location, fabulous breakfast - we really enjoyed our overnight stay at Peel Hey.
Having to pay extra for breakfast
Staff were great, food was good, lovely big rooms and very quiet ( at least at the back)
Residents lounge was also reception, meaning not really anywhere to sit in the evening ,confusing arrangements for dinner- ie provided one night, not the next
Breakfast Bed Staff
slight smell of drains
Great atmosphere, kind staff, not intrusive but very attentive, the only place I stay in the Wirral.
The staff were friendly and helpfull.
The room was more suited to single due to head room . The bed was so hard we didn't get any sleep for the whole stay also was in pain from bad backs hips etc .so expensive stay .
Ken and his staff went above and beyond to look after us.
An Oasis of calm
Tea/coffee making facilities a bit meagre. Had to ask for a second cup and lots more milk
Good location. Clean and comfortable
No hot water when we arrived. Bin in room not emptied. We thought that the breakfast was expensive particularly as the accommodation itself was not cheap.
Comfortable clean, crisp bed linen, clean carpets, and lovely toiletries. Nothing to complain about. Easy parking too!
It was friendly and the food was great
Staff very friendly and helpful peaceful location, room comfortable.dinner was available at short and very enjoyable.Overall a very pleasant stay.
Lovely outlook to sit in the conservatory and have a drink from the well stocked honesty bar - we sat there in the evening and read - it felt very homely. Lovely full English breakfast.
Breakfast times a little restricted if you're relaxing and want a lie in.
Peel hey is my hotel of choice when working in the area. The attention to detail makes Peel Hey stand out and allows me a sigh of relief when I arrive at the end of a long working day. See you again soon.
Overall a really pleasant experience, from initial communication to arrival and all through to the end of our 3 day stay - highly recommended. Both accommodation and food were excellent
The bed was so comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay.
It was very friendly, and the reception rooms, dining room and bedrooms were well presented and clean.
we had a problem with the room booking as the room we booked was not the one we were first shown. As I have myofascial pain syndrome I have a lot of pain and hence the reason why we booked this room as having a wide bed is essential for both of us. There was small print at the end of the booking form but we did not see it and assumed the room we booked was the one we would have. It was sorted out and we ended up in the room we booked. But we think that when one books a particular room, then that should be the room offered except in an emergency, when telephone contact should be made to confirm the change first. Also we prefer the breakfasts to be included in the costs.
