Dating back to the 16th century, this former coaching inn rests in the heart of the picturesque and historic Lewes. The White Hart Hotel offers modern facilities, whilst keeping its old world charm.

The location is excellent, the staff are very good and the breakfast is to die for.
Nothing, all good here

Tatty ensuite, shower and toilet need cleaning /refurbished
The building,the location,the facilities,the staff.
Noise of delivery under my window at 5 a.m.
when I explained that a loud fan was on outside my bedroom and that I was a light sleeper my room was changed to a much quieter one immediately good breakfast
music at breakfast was interesting
Bridal Suite Location View Setting
Great location, lovely room in stable annexe, friendly staff.
Small car park which was an additional charge, and leaky shower. But lovely ambience and would stay there again.
People make places the staff here so lovely.
The location and facilities are excellent. The hotel has enormous charm. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast was very good. Looking forward to returning to Pelham House Hotel.
Helpful staff - no fuss, effective Very comfortable sleeping Great location for centre of Lewes
Shower was poor - a form of "sprinkler" While overall cost was OK, the unclear and unexpected "POS Roomcharge" was a little annoying.at 37% of the quoted room charge.
Quality of dinner fixed price menu very good. Cooked breakfast also good. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Lewes and surrounding area.
Room had adequate hanging space but not a single drawer so nowhere to put stuff away. Bar/lounge not comfortable and nowhere else to sit away from the room.
The staff, the bar, the dining room, the food, the local beer.
Happy with the hotel! Very comfortable, clean. helpful friendly service. good breakfast.
Sounds like a lot of negatives but they are all minor. I do compliment highly the staffs' polite and efficient service, Also on the overal decor and cleanliness of the hotel.
Very limited parking. Suggest parking permits to nearby street parking. No confortable public sitting room other than the bar area. Suggest sitting room overlooking garden. No managerial presence to the guest to give that more personal touch. A proportion of the wall paintings are portraits of very solemn characters. Some Cheerios replacements are needed.
We loved the hotel location and the quirky rooms
Our bedroom didn't 't feel as luxurious as I thought it might
Small room very much over priced
The standard of food was very good. Even though we only had breakfast I witnessed the staff serving at a private dinner function and it all looked to the very highest standard.
Car parking can be an issue. With very limited on site parking it is best to book a space when reserving a room. Lewes on street parking is limited to 2 hrs during the day. There is a large car-park at the railway station but as a commuter hub it is likely to be busy. Customers with physical disabilities should take into consideration the steep hill from the railway station and also the narrow staircases within the Hotel.
Room with view over gardens. Central location. Superb period style building. Delightful and helpful reception staff
Can be expensive when deals not available.
Location, staff, quality of breakfast
The narrow steep stairs the bathroom was challenging for over 60s no hand rails and raised platform toilet was grubby under the rim.
Bed was lovely, nice bathroom, great shower. Really friendly and helpful Spanish receptionist.
ambience, room, breakfast
Very traditional English hotel, but all modern fittings and standards. Excellent
we liked the location, the history and the generous breakfast, as well as the comfortable bed.
we had asked for a light bulb to be replaced in the bathroom, but received a non committal response and no service thereafter for that. Some personnel should be asked to smile more and try to listen
The hotel was in a good location and the staff were friendly.
Our room was small and there was no bath available only a shower.
Location and ease of access to the town; friendleness of staff; individuality of the room as opposed to the standard boring style.
Bed a little hard for me, but otherwise superb facilities.
Beds were very comfortable, well stocked tea, coffee and hot chocolate with delicious cookies. Room had character but had all the modern conveniences aswell. Breakfast delicious. Very convenient for shops and rail station. Can't fault it
