Garden was beautiful and the food was good. Service was very friendly.
The room was a bit small and not much of a view.
Location reception staff
Breakfast the noisiest dining room I have experienced.young waitress less than jovial had to ask for TOASTED toast no marmalade when brought was plonked on the table.Just ok for the price
gardens and breakfast
small bedroom dark and very small shower room should have been offered a bath. If we return would like a more modern bedroom.
Really nice hotel and friendly staff. Great breakfast and view from room
The green exit sign above door inside room made it difficult to sleep
Nice building and good location. Breakfast was good.
Carpet in the room was dirty. We had to park our car at the station. Some of the staff were not friendly.
Location Atmosphere Breakfast Charming staff
Plumbing a bit noisy
Old world charm with hints of contemporary. Great Bar, excellent restaurant, friendly and welcoming staff. Nice room, comfortable bed and good WIFI
Bathroom was a little small and had no light coming in, also got very hot.
Location of property and the property itself Excellent breakfast
Price I felt was a bit steep together with the need to pay upfront
Excellent breakfast & breakfast service View from our room (No 7)
Nice breakfast and lovely garden.
The heavy metal music in the bar (totally out of place). Generally the service could be better (no one attending the reception too many times); the staff were much too junior and without skills.
Wifi was good, breakfast was excellent, bed was comfortable, room complimentaries
limited car parking, location
Locatioin downtown Easy Parking
Smokers on your lovely terrace
Rooms a bit basic
The old part of the hotel is characterful and interesting
The room we had was in an annex and very small and pokey and poor value for money.
A good central location near to the train station. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
For the price I expected something rather grander. The choice on the dinner menu was limited and for the price the food was extremely average in quality.
Excellent location, breakfast and a great room. Staff always courteous and helpful
Location and a very good Breakfast
The young Lady on reception one of the most unhelpful I have come across in my travels. However good Manager, but he must realise the hotel is let down by it's surly receptionist. Also did not like the rooms in the "outhouse" you are quite literally feel like you are sleeping in an uncomfortable bed in the car park.
Welcome, ease of taxis to the opera and breakfast
No lift so not easily accessible for someone with limited mobility. Room 1 very noisy as alongside generator/boiler
Food Staff Location
Room too small Access to room difficult
Lovely to be able to eat, drink or just relax in the delightful garden.
Limited parking, if u don't know to reserve a space when booking the there is a v. Strong possibility that you will have to park 10 mins walk away in the station car park.
The staff were friendly and competent and it was really good value
Parking was limited
The hotel is ideally situated for visitors to glyndebourne. The staff were very helpful and polite, the rooms good quality and well maintained and the breakfast menu varied. I will certainly use it again when I'm next in need of accommodation in the area.
Location Gardens Breakfast
Small room on top floor; overpriced Very hot - needs a better strategy for hot summer weather
I'ts a pleasant and wellrun place, with wonderful breakfasts on the terrace in good weather, a great lawn and ideally situated.
My room had a noisy ventilation system just outside its windows, which had to remain open due to direct sunshine which heated the room to an unpleasant level.
The breakfast, the terrace, the situation.
The turn down service: our windows and blinds were drawn and heat emitting lights lit on one of the hottest evenings of the year, despite having being left open to provide circulation of air. In the process my electric shaver was knocked to the floor and the foil separated and went under the bed. When I moved the bed to try and find it, there was weeks of debris and dust present. The sink was cracked and the area around the bath taps was not cleaned. Not nice!
