Excellent & friendly staff, great breakfast, lovely garden setting, good location to town Bedroom was located in the attic space and was uncomfortably hot at night. The fan provided wasn't sufficient and I don't feel that having paid £130 for my room this was acceptable. Our bathroom had a bath with a shower attachment facility. There was no form of shower screen/curtain and so both my partner and I managed to spray water into the rest of the bathroom. |

It was unexpectedly stylish - the gardens, the architecture, the layout of the room and the view into the gardens all contributed to a really enjoyable stay. In addition the breakfast was superb. Also the fact that it was so close to the South Downs makes the location so perfect for us. We would very much like to be kept informed of any special deals that you are offering. |

Lovely hotel, well designed, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms and a great breakfast. In a great location in the middle of Lewes and we had a fantastic view from our top floor room. Service a bit slow at breakfast. We didn't get any tea/coffee until we had finished eating. |

decor, breakfast, proximity to High Street seemed a bit odd that the booking confirmation letter from hotel not on headed paper so unable to contact them by telephone on route to let them know we were arriving late in the evening, also letter said we were allocated 2 car parking spaces but no mention of cost of parking so surprised to be charged when checking in/out. |

Being in the centre of Lewes was perfect; the garden terrace was a very good place to sit and relax (we wished we had taken breakfast on the terrace); the staff were extremely helpful |

Reception staff were not only helpful but also really friendly. The room was huge and comfortable with a really nice view. Good choice of breakfast dishes. My one criticism would be that when I went down to breakfast at 9am (breakfast was from 7 to 9.30), one of the waiters began clearing and cleaning the other tables, so I had to eat my breakfast surrounded by bleech fumes, which wasn't particularly pleasant. He then had to re-set one of the tables as another guest came in after me. It felt as if we were being a nuisance! |

Excellent reception staff, very relaxed, and the food was amazing - especially breakfast - the vegetarian bubble and squeak breakfast was just the right amount and absolutely delicious. The decor in the room was modern and shower facilities excellent. Would recommend to anyone. |

Location within Lewes; the old building and the rooms; comfortable bedroom - though a bit draughty; restaurant & breakfasts. This is the 6th or 7th time we've stayed and we would do so again |

Room very comfortable and well laid out, despite being quite small. Fantastic location right in the heart of Lewes. Free wi-fi internet access which is always a bonus. Staff very friendly and efficient. Lack of air conditioning, even in October it was very warm. Lack of sky sports. |

Pleased that it was not another chain hotel. Historic house with character and individuality. Good location. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Parking could be a problem as limited, but ok for us as we booked in advance. |

The friendliness of everyone, the breakfasts were very good with excellent service. The very tight staircase to the upper floor, the lack of space for clothes, and the lack of a comfortable chair. |
