Pelham house is a lovely looking hotel inside as well as out ! we booked late ,but still had a lovely room! the bed was so comfy that I didn't want to get out of it! the staff were friendly and breakfast was nice too! would we stay here again, yes with out question! parking is a bit of a problem ! but its not the hotel,s fault (they have limited space)and, lewes has tight roads and is built on a hill and parking is tight everywhere! on the plus side if you travel by train , its only a 3min walk to the station !

Excellent location Lovely building Garden terrace Service, attention to detail and accommodation didn't quite live up to the upmarket image this hotel seeks to portray. Having paid £135 for a standard double room which was pretty ordinary, we were then asked to Pay £6.50 per day to park in the Hotel car park!

The food was fantastic and the staff very friendly and approachable. The rooms and beds were a good size and all rooms had docking station and alarm clocks. Very comfortable beds . The is no lift in the hotel and the stairs are quite steep. Bedding and pillows were feather and had nothing else to offer. I am allergic !

The design of the hotel was stunning and they had made a real effort. Very pretty breakfast room etc. the food was very yummy and breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Our bathroom was very, very small but then again we paid such a low price for the night! The bed was a bit too hard for me.

I thought the staff were among the most helpful and friendly I have met. Everyone without exception wanted to do what they could for me. I arrived at the time of the snowstorm, spent the day without food or drink in the archives and was very cold and tired at night. They made every attempt to bring me the food I wanted, not all of which was on the menu, and to give me extra blankets to keep warm. I liked my room, the bathroon, all the facilities. I have not chosen the words in question 3 but I would like to say that the hotel is a delight, the staff superb and the food was delicious. I shall return with my family I hope. I was in my room at night and found the tv did not work. I wanted to call reception but there was no number that I could find easily. I therefore used my mobile to call the hotel and someone came up to fix the tv. I suggest you attach to the telephone the reception number. To have to leaf through the information book pages to find it is not helpful. Or you can have the reception number on the first page in the book in large print, not tiny letters and numbers under R. I travel a great deal abroad and all the hotels have lists of hotel numbers by the telephone, on the telephone or as the first page of their information book.

The location is good, in the center of Lewes but with beautiful views on the back of the hotel. Fresh fruit available with breakfast. The breakfast room is a very pleasant place to sit in. It is an old building and the hotel can be a noisy place when many rooms are occupied. Creaky doors, wooden floorboards in the corridors. Also in my opinion the hotel has gone a bit too far in trying to be hip. Japanese beer in the bar?

I thought that the hotel was really nice and in a splendid location The dinner menu was disappointing my skate ring was really greasy and not light and fresh. My husbands supper of poulet was underdone and saved on a very mushy bean casoulet. The food did not match the hotel.
