Friendly hostess, nice house and cosy room room (double) with nice view, free parking, shared kitchen with facilities. Perfect for us.
Shared shower which we didn't need to use however; no lift and steep stairs, so not very suitable for the disabled.
Wonderful location and amazing building, I even had what the girl who showed be to the building described as a 'lush' view - and it was, all the way down Steep Hill.
But very very rundown, dusty and cobwebby. I accept it is a listed building and changes to the building can't be made so the facilities were limited. But what there was didn't work - the bedside light didn't work, the telly didn't work, the lock on the door was insecure, there was even a hole (not a crack, a hole) in one of the leaded light window panes in my bedroom, the curtains were coming off their hooks, the windows were filthy so I couldn't really appreciate the 'lush' view, I didn't even have a mirror in my bedroom, and there were trailing electric sockets in my bedroom which must contravene some health and safety requirements. All in all, not good enough, and despite the amazing building and location I couldn't possibly recommend this to anyone, nor would I stay there again.
I thought the view was great and the bedrooms were the best feature,.
There was no facility for bathing a baby The sink plug in the shower room non functitional Nowhere to sit down and eat the toilet opens into the kitchen
This was a great location to stay for my sister's birthday. The room was amazing and the building itself was incredible. Everything was lovely and the teas and coffees in the shared kitchen was a nice touch. For the price it was brilliant.
The only downfall was some unruly drunken lads that stayed on our last night. The walls are not sound proof at all. They smashed up the place and woke everyone up. I think they really should check the type of people staying. The last night was sadly ruined by inconsiderate guests.
It was just like it was described. We had no problem with the shared facilities. The kitchen had mik coffee tea etc, large fridge freezer, cooker ,microwave. The bedding was change after 2 days. Great short stay thank you.
Room 5 the spot lights over the bed shone directly into the mirror.
The location being central in between the castle and the cathedral. The kitchen was good although sparcily equipped. The actual properly was beautiful too. Plenty of mirrors. The shower was lovely and hot. The heating worked. Comfy bed
Noisy people noises from the street but being central that's to be expected. the lack of storage space for clothes. We had no shelves or wardrobe at all. Living out of a suitcase. the door to our room is about 165cm high. I am 163cm high. I banged my head too many times to mention as there is no warning on the inside of the doorway. I have told the duty staff about this and assured me they would place a warning sign inside the room as well as outside.
It is a lovely place to stay and wonderfully situated.
The shower room is not adequate for five rooms. There was not hot water supply to the basin or the kitchen sink when I was there.
Location and facilities
Was a lovely house, staff was great, was very relaxed with it being an apartment, will be booking again
The room was abit small with a travel cot and also paid 12 pound for a breakfast which was at a very poor standard
Great hotel ideal spot
Perfect location beautiful view from the room with castle on one side and cathedral on the other loads of pubs and history within walking distance absolutely fantastic definately staying again
Could be a problem if your tall due to low beams and doorways luckily im a shortarse lol
The proximity to Steep Hill and the Cathedral is superb. We tried a couple of restaurants and went shopping in near by antique/ vintage shops.
I think due to shared bathrooms dressing gowns would have been useful
• Excellent location • Lovely staff • The historic building • The kitchen provided more eating options (especially if you have low funds) • The value and quality for your money is excellent in general
Just the creaking noise and the fact you can hear everything.
It had fabulous location, the rooms were lovely and the honesty bar what a lovely idea
There wasn't an on suite bathroom
Staff was great, room was super, location also very nice.
Car parking for money in a private parking, not so clean shower
We loved the location and the unusual style of the apartment, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious.
There was only 1 toilet and shower between 20 girls and the bells from the cathedral did wake us up early.
This is a stunning location, right next to the castle and in the heart of Lincoln. Was lovely to hear buskers and church bells in the evening. Gorgeous room with original beams and windows. Don't miss out on the experience!
Only one toilet for all the rooms
Girl who checked me in was excellent
Very comfortable room, in a very interesting medieval building - nicely converted. In an excellent positon near the cathedral and castle. I liked the fact it was self catering, and this aspect was well provided for.
Shared facilites which were fine, but were upstairs from my room, which meant navigating the stairs in the night to get to the loo! The excellent position above the square also meant it was rather noisy late at night, from the people in the square.
Stunning location and bags of quirky history.
Couldn't get wifi to work
The location between the cathedral & castle is perfect, the house is fantastic
Service was very friendly indeed from up the street. The look of the place and its location is a delight. Pleased to find I could get breakfast after all up at Bailhouse Hotel (or rather in the adjoining back garden of Tapas Bar)
very noisy ceiling from any footsteps upstairs through ignoring 1545 building regulations.
Everything was just perfect. The hostess helped me very much when I was about to be late for a bus. I apreciated it very much.
Charming old house, from 1500- right beside the cathedral.
No sign at the door- I arrived late and the door was closed. After a while another guest came out and told me where the reseption was... Took me almost 1 1/2 before I had my room. Not good after a long day of traveling. Even this is a Charming place- lots of noise! Cathedral played for long sequenses and the pub right outside...
Easy walking distance to town. Lovely kitchen and bathroom. Large comfortable room. Friendly staff. Easy parking if you time it right.
Much too noisy outside late at night. Fine if you're a deep sleeper. Prefer bathroom to be on same floor as bedroom or en-suite.
