The location of the hotel was good, it was easy to get anywhere in London. The cleaners never disturbed us, they did their job when we were out of the hotel. One of the recepcionist was helpful. The hotel was not really a hotel, I'd rather call it hostel. The services and the facilities were really poor. When we arrived we got a really cold room. Later it was changed to a much more warmer.

The location close to Finsbury Park underground and bus stations made it easy to travel between the hotel and central london. The staff were not very helpful and there were building activities within the hotel itself which meant that we had to wake up very early every morning to the sounds of building machinery and the smell of dust and fresh paint. As for the bathrooms the plumbing is old and troublesome and the flushes don't work properly.

I found Pembury Hotel very clean and well styled the restaurant/cafe adjoined has some quality food and seating. There are outdoor patio areas available for smokers and the staff were polite and patient. There is plenty of secure, gated parking available with cctv for reassurance. Bed was comfortable but no spare pillows but as a bonus the provided hair- dryer actually dries hair! Very good value for money, especially in London almost directly opposite Finsbury Park. Hotel isn't very well signed so we drove past it several times! It is directly on Severn Sisters road but the car entrance is on the side and the staff although helpful do not know the area well. The 'bathroom' was tiny with just the width of a toilet at one end, a sink too small to wash your face in without soaking the floor and a shower almost impossible to bend down in. Toilet stained but clean and shower temperature in the morning varied a lot (but to be honest I have had the same problem in many 5* hotels) No ironing facilities available.

Everything about the hotel is great but I found the day lady receptionist unhelpful and rude. Thanks I arrived on the day that some paint work was still ongoing, my Tv set did not work and no telephone in my room.

Receptionist was ill manered and gave no explanation of building work. I booked a double room with breakfast. The room was in an attic with three single beds was damp and dirty with no running hot water. The Carpets were stained and covered in cigarette burns. There was no breakfast on offer and to be honest we would never of eaten there if our lives depended on it. How they can call this a Hotel is astounding !!!!!!

The hotel staff were rude. I was not given a key to my room for the first night and communication must not have been followed through as the woman at the desk the next morning was very rude about it accusing me for losing the key when it was their fault to begin with. Customer service was just not good.

Very noisy by the main road and very hot. Smelt horrible. Shared bathroom which wasn't stated on booking. Building work going on. Room had no curtain - just a filthy net curtain. There was a mouse trap in my room, and the walls, carpet and doors were covered in stains and marks.

When I arrived to get my room the receptionist took my money gave me a receipt and then informs me he has not got a room at the Pembury Hotel for us and we have to go to another place for our room. I informed him that I had telephoned a week ago to confirm my booking he waved his hand and told me to go to this other place which he said was 5 minutes walk. One hour later we still could not find this other place we asked but no body knew where it was,so we returned to the Pembury I said I was not walking another foot he then took my receipt changed it and gave me a key to a room in the Pembury Hotel. Why couldn't he have done this in the first place.

The only plus point about the hotel is the location. I am very much disappointed with the quality of room and services got during my stay from 16th Jul'11 to 18th Jul'11. Room is dirty having stains on the walls, wall paints are damped at places and falling out. Top floor room does not have head room and we got hurt due to this. In the toilet, shower was leaking profusely, toilet flush does not work properly, bath tub tiles are loose and broken at some places. Patchy marks on walls and ceilings. Floor carpet very dirty. Cartens are dirty and tore off. Breakfast quality is also very poor. The only plus point about the hotel is the location. Overall I am very much unhappy and will inform my friends and colleagues about this. I felt that I have been cheated.

The continental breakfasts were well organised and it was situated in a reasonable position to transport etc. Most of the front desk people were not very polite except for LENA......i give her credit for her professionalism compared to the other front desk staff members. We were frustrated that when we arrived at the hotel we got forgotten about by the receptionist at the front desk and she was quite rude.....gave us directions to our room which ended up being a walk through a carpark then across the road to a hotel room that was not big for a twin room. The wardrobe kept falling down, the beds were so uncomfortable and to get to the mini fridge we had to move the bed.

the room smelled of damp and the ceiling was covered in water stains. The air con consisted of opening the window, but the hotel was next to a major building site which was very noisy. The shower thermostat didn't work so I couldn't adjust the temperature - I informed them of this after my first night and was told it would be fixed, needless to say it wasn't, and the shower cubicle itself was tiny - I am 6'2" so a fixed head at 5'6" is useless. There was no wifi, I did not have ironing facilities, and my bedding was full of holes. Overall my impression was that the hotel was more of along term hostel facility than a genuine hotel.

Nothing at all. This is the worst hotel I have ever seen. Filthy, stained carpets, filthy bathroom floor, damp-rotten woodwork. While the towels and sheets were clean, I was bitten three times during the night by something. On reflection, I should have slept under a bush in Finsbury Park across the road.

The location was right at the entrance to Finsbury Park, we were their to attend the Feis and was the ideal location. The room was basic but that was to be expected given the price, it was clean and we were allowed to check in about an hour early. The breakfast facilities at the adjacent sister hotel were a joke and the stressed out staff member on duty was unbelievably rude to guests , to a level I have never witnessed anywhere in the world at any time and I am 52 year old. I can laugh it off but any foreign guests must have been appalled at her rants , hopefully their English was as poor as the reception staffs.

This hotel is suitable for budget travellers. The single rooms are very small, especially the "bathroom" however it was very clean. The hotel is on a very busy road so don't expect peace and quiet.

I was regretful to choose this hotel. The people who own its does not care about customers at all. They had charged me 240 pounds just for only 4 days. while I was staying in the hotel for 4days there was no breakfast. However, I would never recommended to anyone this hotel because people are very mean and I do not understand it at all how those managers hired such kind of people who have no sense of understand customer needs. For those who might be able to travel to Central Europe, please stay away from the Pembury hotel!

Facilities under renovation, so interior looks fairy fine. Proximity to underground stop. In front of Finchley park, that can be good for the ones who like running or exercise The renovation under progress is made in economy. Got a renewed room but there were many disappointing remarks. Room was small: no place for luggage. No blind curtains. No bedside lights. Corridor and room doors are all squeaking: no one made maintenace when told: handyboy available only at working hours. Bed squeaking too, poor quality material. Room cleaning at minimum. Poor noise isolation between rooms. Staff at basic knowledge level (but this is a common issue in all London hotels). Finsbury Park station area is awful, no restorants apart for a fine pub: you have to walk min 1km thru dreadful Blackstock rd. to reach decent restaurant into Islington borough. So no pluses for any foreign visitor.

Can't think of anything to write home about. The hotel had no visible sign (Printed piece of sign stuck on the door), Receptionist appears to be poorly trained (Most disgusting), facilities are sub-standard. Very noisy environment (Adjacent to a construction site). Pounding noise through till 8pm. Your record would show that I could not even spend the night in the so called hotel. I checked out in the evening to another more comfortable hotel. My worst experience in recent times. I would not even recommend this hotel to my foes.

Room was nice n clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Also liked the coffee shop. Heating was very high all night and when I opened the window had noise from traffic (which I expected). Then had to go to reception for some water as water from the tap was not for drinking. But would be more than happy to stay here again either by my self or with my girlfriend.

The Reception area was very clean and inviting, however this was the only part that was. There was bins over flowing with rubbish all in the outside area. Building materials left in walk ways outside. The room was awful for the following reasons: Floor tiles in shower room all smashed Tiles missing of boxing in, in shower room Window catches broke off and window would not close properly There was all cleaning supplies and rubbish left along the corridor to our room. When going to reception to complain about the window catch being broken and the window not being secure and letting a severe draft in, the gentleman on the reception said' 'sorry no maintance man available so sorry about that', and did nothing else. I would not go back again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please do not take children as it is a very unsafe environment for them.

We have stopped twice recently, first in the actual hotel as advertised and last time (new years eve) at some flats in another road. Staff were fairly good, breakfast ok, you get what you pay for. Its obvious that much has been renewed. Parking was good and secure. Finsbury park station a few minutes walk away as advertised. Rooms in Penbury are very small. Toilet seat not fixed to toilet and not clean underneath. 1St visit, Shower water would not drain properly so could only use shower for about 4 mins and then had to switch off to let water drain away. 2Nd visit, secondary hotel across two roads, Sink faucet loose and will break of soon. Much money spent on hotels but then no maintenance so soon will degrade. Rooms in both buildings incredibly hot with radiators turned up too high and no way of adjusting them, had to have windows open wide but still uncomfortably hot, very strange. Sat nav post code takes you several hundred yards past and there is no name on the hotel that we could see from the road, this caused us problems on our first visit when the traffic was light. Put a name up on the hotel please guys!
