Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel  

This is a beautiful country house hotel . The service is excellent , friendly and unobtrusive . The room was spotlessly clean , and furnished to a high standard . The bathroom was also clean and well appointed . The food was of a consistently high standard , well presented in a lovely dining room .

Maybe slightly expensive when compared to hotels of a similar standard .

The hotel was plush and comfortable.

The hotel had an excllent reputation but we thought it was very ovepriced . We stayed for two nights and although we asked on both days to see the menu for the evening meal we were always told 'it was being prepared' hence never saw the menu and therefore chose to eat out on both evenings.This was a little disappointing.

This is a very luxurious country house type hotel and I enjoyed my stay here very much

The price of the evening meal is a bit steep although the food is very good

Good accommodation, good food and a lovely atmosphere in which to enjoy a relaxing stay.

Very warm welcome from owners and staff. Good food and dining atmosphere. Excellent selection of wines. Everything you should expect and more.

Comfort & space

We had a lovely two night stay. The hotel, staff and grounds are superb. The attention to detail is second to none. We will certainly highly recommend the hotel and will return for another few day break in the near future. We consider (in our opinions) 5 star.

Expecting to see Miss Marple or Poirot walk through the door and thinking it was a set from an Agatha Christie novel. Lovely hotel but very old fashioned and quaint..

If you're not a bit posh you might feel out of place - as I did..

Very nice and comfortable bed, good restaurant, lovely location.

Not much shelf space in bathroom, little view.

Its location overlooking the Mawddach estuary was magnificent as were the grounds. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.Lovely gardens for sitting in and excellent breakfast. Rooms were spacious, well decorated and furnished.

Evening menu was a bit too fussy, although the quality of the food was excellent. If there for more than one night the food would be too much and there were not enough changes from day to day. Our room on the second floor was a bit hot and airless, but the weather was very hot when we were there. Other rooms lower down would have been better with French windows and balconies.

Room (Ashworth) inadequately heated

Nearly everything. The food, the service, the room, the grounds are all incredible. Whatever the owners are doing, they're doing it right.

They only use each table in the dining room once. This means you have no limit to your stay at the table, but it also means that arriving late means you won't be seated at the nicest tables.
