Score from 231 reviews Very good
The breakfast was very good
The noise from people returning to the hotel late at night
Friendliness of everyone. Room very comfortable and clean, breakfast excellent. Lovely setting. Pool and leisure facilities very good
Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast
Superior Family Suite was a really good size, with lounge area and separate bunk area for children. Very handy that a fridge was available in the room. A large bathroom with two sinks and separate shower. The indoor swimming pool was used and much enjoyed by children.
Quite an old fashioned hotel.
The dinner in the evening was excellent. Beautifully presented. Lovely grounds. Very polite staff.
Decor was very tired and quite a few items needed repairing or relpacing. (Jacuzzi and Jacuzzi hand rails, menu display cabinet, nails in Sauna bench were exposed)
Staff were excellent
Bed too hard for our taste
Friendly staff. Good food. Comfortable and clean
Wi Fi reception poor in bedroom. More shelves in bathroom for toiletries. Shower and bath water temperture seem to be controlled. Not as hot as we would have liked.
Sauna, Jaccuzzi, Pool, Bunkbeds,
Such a beautiful building with lovely gardens. Our room was a generous size with plenty of seating and a comfy bed. The staff were outstanding and the breakfast was lovely. The pool, sauna and Jacuzzi are situated next to a small but adequate fitness room
Some of the furniture and bathroom fittings are a bit dated but the pressure from the shower was amazing so why change something that's certainly not broken :-).
Me and my fiancé recently stayed at this hotel and found it absolutely excellent lovely staff lovey setting superb staff and even better food. Will be staying again as soon as possible very very very good :):).
Errrr the iron in my room didn't work..... That's it.
Nice setting with comfortable and cosy bedrooms. Spacious bathroom which was clean. Not too far from the town centre. Decent breakfast included.
Sneeky charges for Newspapers which they said were complimentary
staff Room very comfortable
haddock for breakfast unavailable décor slightly dated
No noise disturbance during night. Garden room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful
Outdoor pool closed. Nowhere to walk to of an evening
The hotel was very good but not suitable for late arrivals. I suffered delays in my itinerary and rang to tell them about my late arrival and was told that I would be unable to check in after 1 am in the morning and I had to arrange hotel stay at another town enroute to this destination. Room 49, which is what I was given has very poor wi-fi signal. The staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is excellent for leisure travellers, in my opinion.
No late check in facility. Poor wi-fi in room 49.
no outdoor swimming pool no loungers no bar staff no food sunday lunchtimes
I had a single room which had a large bed it was comfortable and clean the breakfast choices were good and the staff attentive. If you are looking for a quiet break and a swim this is the place for you.
Unfortunately the hotels location is a bit far from both the beaches and town center but in a quiet location.
Rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Bathroom & shower excellent. Indoor pool and spa facilities also excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely setting and grounds.
The advertised outdoor pool which was one of the main reasons for booking was closed and obviously had been for some time - feel cheated being charged for a facility that was not available. Breakfast was limited - no fresh fruit other than banana - scrambled egg on toast was one small slice and what appeared to be one small egg.
Excellent room and en-suite (Room 33). Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Carpet in En-suite around toilet -not very hygenic (minor issue)
The Hotel was grate, and the staff Second none.
The relaxing feel about the place. The pool/sauna/jacuzzi
Room ok but nothing special.
I had the continental breakfast once. Although cold meats and cheese were advertised there was no sign of them. So poor value for money. No shower cap or flannel.
Uncomfortable bed is my only concern but would affect my choice of hotel in the future.
Helpfulness of all staff, lovely spacious family room, well kept outside grounds for the kids to run about in and use of the pool which they loved.
Nothing not to like!
Full English and choice of egg. Nice swimming pool and lovely hot jacuzzi. Lovely, quiet, grounds.
No Baked beans for breakfast. Having to go to reception to request a drink at the bar. Came back after meal out and it was all closed - no bar, no reception, no nightcap!
