Staff Facilities Breakfast
View (Foggy for the whole trip so didn't see any of the wonderful views)
dinner was nice interrupted by the fire alarm shipped outside no coats etc for 30 mins electrical fault
It says in their information if your cold we will provide extra heating it was freezing inform reception re heating says will organise heater nothing happened next am so cold hard to shower inform reception says oh will turn the heating on duhh
The meal in the restaurant was stunning! Great food!
We stayed for three nights and our towels was not changed in this time which was a problem as the radiators didn't work in the room so the room was not only cold the towels was also damp for the duration of the stay. There was also renovations to the hotel which meant it was nosey and full of work men. Whilst the staff was friendly to us, they bad mouthed each other. Also we were telephoned on my mobile at 9pm whilst in the room upstairs to say something from our room was taken and handed in at reception if by the cleaner if I'd like to collect it?! This uneased me as I didn't like the idea of people taking anything out of my room!
Very nice cosy hotel up on the Pennines. My room was nicely furnished and the bathroom was good (with bath as well). The breakfast service and the breakfast itself was very good. I would like to stay here again when on business in this area.
Viennese whirl biscuits on the tea tray.
Even though the room service was promptly delivered their staff did not collect the room service trays. Upon check out I brought it to the receptionist attention, who was not apologetic but simply said 'I'll get someone down there today'
Beautifully designed building in stunning location. Food was excellent Staff were friendly
Place was practically deserted apart from contractors working on refurbishment. Bar/restaurant felt cold and we felt pressured to order our meal at a time to suit staff As with most hotels in the UK, the lighting in the room was very poor.
Bed very nice.
Building work. Roofers throwing bits of wood off roof which came close to hitting me.
Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Sunday lunch was excellent value and we had invited two friends to dine with us. We all had 3 courses and enjoyed everything. We ate once in the evening and again really enjoyed the food.
The bed had roll together. It was comfortable just dipped in the middle. Bathroom a bit tired.
The views from the hotel were stunning. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the facilities were good.
The WI-FI was very intermittent. I asked at reception and apparently we should have had good connection as we were very close to the hub.
Location of the hotel was perfect for our needs, easy to find. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Room was neat, clean and tidy. Food was to a good standard as were the house wines. Good views of the countryside from the hotel. Thanks for a great time
The bath was a tad small for larger framed man.
Location and staff
Helpfulness of the staff was outstanding
Very high winds battered the hotel - not the fault of the staff!!!!
Bed was comfy. Room was clean, cosy and quite modern. Staff were nice, well mannered and welcoming. Lovely views from the hotel.
The bath/shower facilities were very disappointing compared to the bedroom. They are seriously outdated and need to be modernised in style and decor. There's just too much of a contrast between the bedroom and the en suite. It's like you've walked through a time machine. Also they weren't as clean as I would have liked.
Being able to enjoy a decent dinner quite late (8.30 pm) in the Yorkshire countryside. Friendly staff and great views.
Some of the sloppily dressed male guests in shorts at dinner and breakfast inland in October. I don't like seeing other people's tattooed legs while I am eating. A dress code might be an idea!
The room was very nice and comfortable. The evening menu in hilltop bar is very good and the food was excellent as was the beer and wine. The gentleman in the bar was very helpful.
The weather but that wasn't the hotel fault it was just the pennine moors!
Size of room The fact that half the hotel did not have tiles on the roof, and still renting rooms at full price. Had to move rooms 3 times until I found one with Tiles on the roof. (no tiles was very noisy due to wind on the waterproof membrane).
Wounderful place, great room, nice view, comfortable bed, clean. Large, modern TV. Iron was delivered within minutes.
Breakfast buffe is always nice!
The hotel is currently going through a refurbishment to the roof. That coupled with high winds and a 1st floor room, didn't make for any sleep. Hotel is very exposed on top of a hill.
The hotel is a little isolated but this results in spectacular views of the surroundings.
Staff could not do enough for us
It is having building work done on it at present - but it means it will be even better in the future
We received a full refund without any hassle
Coulnd't sleep due to roof repairs
Hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean. Good availability and cancellation policy.
Rooms can be a little small and the hotel was being re-roofed at my last visit. there was no mention of this when I booked my stay this time
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff
Small size of room - broken mirror light in bathroom the whole of 4 night stay - hair dryer not fit for purpose
I arrived late, restaurant had closed but when they realized I was hungry, they prepared some sandwiches for me which i appreciated very much.
Room was comfortable & clean. Bed was big & very comfortable.
