Score from 106 reviews Very good
Room was comfortable & clean. Bed was big & very comfortable.
Beds were too soft. only enough coffee for one round had to ask twice for extra, then told to find the night porter for more as staff member was busy cashing up?
The food and wine was very good and well priced. Staff very friendly and helpful.Good sized car park and nice quiet location. Handy pub 10 minutes down the road which had a good choice of beer and friendly locals.
Scaffolding outside. It looked like a building site. People talking outside the room on the car park in the early morning along with 2 dogs barking Breakfast finishing at 9.30. Should be 10am on a Sunday
Breakfast was good, surroundings are beautiful, The bar is good
Deducting amounts from my card several weeks before arrival, the bathroom was dated to the 1970's and you could not pay for drinks with cash at the bar,the local beer was quite expensive
the view was spetacular the staff were very friendley and helpfull at check in and the food at the evening reception and breakfast was good and hot
the bed room are dark and in some serious need of an update we were attending a wedding party and staff stated to clear away the covers off the chairs ect and items from tables while the bride and guests were still in the room the flowers were removed from the table i was sitting at which i feel was out of order
Everything aside from the lack of internet . I cannot express enough how much we loved the scenery and the overall setting . Quite peacefully and romantic .
Lack of internet . After asking twice why we couldn't connect we were told it may be a problem with the router. We gave up in the end . That being the only negative I would highly recommend ,a lovely place to stay !
The food was excellent
Pity the bar was closed for refurbishment. It meant that we couldn't relax before or after the meal with a drink. Also, the décor was rather dated and needed upgrading.
The location, with spectacular views. Excellent food beautifully presented.
The bathroom needed some TLC.
The new manager works extremely hard to make her guests comfortable. Our conference facilities were fine.
The hotel has more than its fair share of wedding parties and as these overflow into common areas it can be irritating. A quiet lounge area is needed for guests.
As always excellent staff and made to feel very welcome. Super food! Excellent value for money. As normal........windy, but at least the sun shone!
No wifi, but this was not an easy fix by the sound of it, sounded like whole IT system was down, room 6 in need of a bit of tlc!
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly.
It desperately needs upgrading and the plumbing needs fixing too, it is very noisy. Not much room in our bedroom or in the bathroom.
The barman Nick was brilliant, Well priced hotel, phenomenal views in rural quiet location, spitting distance of motorway, one of the best full English breakfasts I've ever had, lovely attentive friendly staff, good food in the restaurant (with early bird menu) plenty of free parking a constant abundance of hot water in the room, nice powerful shower, free WiFi, the outside patio area overlooking rambling Yorkshire countryside. A nice comfortable room and lovely clean white sheets (which I always look at).
Dead looking flowers in our room, room a little dated, dated bathroom with the mould on the shower curtain. small bath towels, the housekeeping wasn't fantastic, towels not renewed until we asked (nowhere to dry them out) I.e, Soap, biscuits, coffee sachets, and loo roll not replenished daily), only one cup on hospitality tray when clearly being occupied by 2 people, dust in bedside drawers, wardrobe door wouldn't shut properly in room 20, iron burn on carpet, dirty mark on bed canopy, gone off chocolates left on bed :(. It lacked the little attention to details, nothing significant, just little housekeeping niggles.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast varied and plentiful. Absolutely stunning views, but not from bedroom. Very comfy beds.
Bedroom overlooked the car park, which wasn't really a problem apart from the car park light, which was on all night. Very hard to get to sleep and had to push the curtains into the window recess to try to stop the brightness. Would be a good idea to switch the lights off after locking up.
Friendly Staff and Excellent Food
What can I say apart from FANTASTIC Rooms were immense Views were UNREAL Staff were incredible All this talk about "outdated" blah blah is ridiculous - it adds unbelievable character to place and gives it a great atmosphere One of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in THANK YOU PENNINE MANOR HOTEL TEAM
The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was charming and clean. Breakfast was perfect! Couldn't ask for more, thank you!
Very slow internet service
Beautiful quite place. Comfy room.... didn't get to spend much time there, but will visit again.
Staff were great especially the manager in the bar/restaurant. Pillows and bed were very comfortable. Nice countryside location with great views.
Wi-fi not great. Room and bathroom a little bit dated
Rooms had to be changed. Loud kitchen extractor disturbed sleep.
Excellent food and the staff were very helpful & friendly.
Some mould around the bath which just spoilt the overall impression of the room.
The staff were very pleasant. The Sunday roast was very good for the price. Couldnt fault the breakfast. The sausages were the best I have had for many years.
Bathroom walls etc need a spray with mould cleaner. The whole hotel needs a makeover as its very dated
The staff were very friendly and helpful ,our room was clean and the bed/pillows comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the location has beautiful views,
Good stay and place for our needs
