Attractive decor and a friendly welcome. Good value and well situated. Great breakfast but staff seemed little confused by the idea of setting and clearing tables.

I liked everything about penny street bridge, it was my watering hole the farmers arms when I was 19 so I had to stay there, I'm now 54. What a change!! The renovation has been done very well, particularly the bar area, the beds are the most comfortable I've slept in for a long time and big, the pillows soft but supportive and to be handed a flask of fresh milk on arrival was a wish come true, I detest uht milk.the staff could not have been more friendly, the reception chap came out to the back to meet us and take out the bollard for the parking, after I phoned to say I couldn't find it. The breakfast was 6* the black pudding sublime and a full cafetiere of coffee, well done everyone. There was absolutely nothing to dislike, everything was perfect, I will definitely stay again if I return

The staff were very friendly. The vegetarian breakfast was excellent. The situation was very convenient for the touring we wanted to do. The building was lovely and the room was spacious. The power and lighting switches in the room were confusing. They all worked but it was difficult to work out what switched what on and off. I would also have preferred a double bed rather than 2 singles pushed together.

Interesting building, nicely decorated, excellent staff, superb breakfast (porridge made especially for me, and bacon the real stuff with crispy edges), starched napkins, etc). Bath was a little short and plug difficult to keep in and remove. Also I HATE key cards and an electronic light blinking at me from the centre of the room all night.

Very smart and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and close to everything in Lancaster. A very comfortbale and grand bar area down strairs. Great selection of hot and cold breakfasts. I'm getting married in Lancaster this Summer and will certainly be recommendeding it to friends. I'm on the fence about this one, but there is no milk in the room... you have to sepcifically request it...I assume to make sure that your milk is always fresh. Also, my sister had a problem with thin walls and being able to hear the room next door.

Everything was well organised.flask of fresh milk for tea . Need to remind guests that bath has a plug that lifts up when you step out of the bath. Lovely and quiet with double glazing that worked very well keeping the noise of the busy A6 out of one's ears. Lovely choice for breakfast although full English is charged at an additional cost.

Rooms that we stayed in as a family ( 3 in all) had all been revamped and were of a really good standard. The shower was excellent, the best I have ever had in a hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and good value. Location is great if you want to be in the heart of the city. Definetely has an indiuvidual character I pre booked a car parking space but please note that there are only four spots. Local car parks are however nearby.

location, clean bathroom, comfortable bed All the equipment was hard to use. Lights, taps, all heard to use and had to go downstairs to reception twice to get instructions. Teh found that air conditioning was on and it was very noisy all night. More info about how to actually work things in the 'everything you need to know' booklet would have been very useful.

The rooms were nicely decorated and had obviously been done very recently. The bathrooms were very nice. Locaton was excellent. Restaurant and bar area also very good. The room was very small. It didn't matter too much as we were only there for one night, but I certainly couldn't have spent much longer there, as there just wasn't room to swing a cat! The car park nearby uis a bit tricky. It tells you how to add up time periods to take you overnight to the next morning. However we put in an overnight charge plus extra 10 hours, so this should have been moire than enough. However the ticket only gave us up to midnight. Beware!!
