Clearly the Hotel has been renovated to a fairly high standard. It took me a while to work out how to operate the Air Con/Heating and tv remotes but got there in the end!

Lovely place to stay. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Delicious food. Liked the fact that unless you stayed there you didn't have access to the hotel rooms, lift or corridors. Access controlled with your room key or doors only opended into public spaces. Breakfast was a bit disorganised on one of the mornings. Needed to ask for bowls, glasses and to order our cooked food.

For us it was convenient because we visited people. Did not like the surrounding no facilities to park to unload the car, and the hotel room was dark. The surrounding, no car park dark interior.Staff not too friendly

The contrast between the old world structure in the bar and dining room to the modern fitments in the rooms themselves was great. You can see the splendour and craftmanship of years ago and the ultra modern style of the rooms.Brilliant. In the center of the town with all the bars and clubs.there was a club across from our room (25) but no noise from it.

A nice place to stay for vists to the Lakes, Northern Dales, Forest of Bowland (one of my favorite places) and lancashire cost, even Blackpool. Good public transport available from Lanacaster, although a little limited on Bank Holidays. Hotel was a little too far out from the town centre. Staff were helpful.

The hotel is within quarter of a mile of rail station and minutes from the hospital. As I was visiting the hospital on the following day, I found the hotel perfectly located. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel was clean.

Location, beautiful building, nice room.Excellent reception staff. Very helpful. Gave us a good welcome. Everything would have been great except the service let it down badly. Would love to stay again but the staff have put me off for good. See below. The recption staff were excellent, really helpful, but the staff in the restaurant need training. They were terrible. After an intitial welcome we were ignored and have to call them over several times to take our order etc.Whilst I don't like being overly fussed, being ignored is something else.We were not the only ones to feel frustrated by them. A couple next to us laughed and said 'is it something we've done!' At breakfast they left dirty plates on our table after we had had the buffet. Anyone who has worked as a waitress knows you don't put food down and not take way the dirty plates. The waitress actually cleaned other tables rather than clear the plates from ours. Bizarre. We also had to wait 30-40 mins between each coutrse at dinner. Such a shame as this is a beautiful hotel in a great location. I am about to visit Lancaster again with my mum but won't be booking this hotel. Train your staff!!!!

Rooms good - clean and comfortable. Lack of clarity on post-time drinks - we've stayed before, sat in guest lounge and had a couple of drinks before retiring; this time they refused to serve us. Needs clarifying so its clear what customers should expect.

We got exactly what we wanted, good, clean, reliable and quiet hotel close to all amenities. Breakfast excellent. Rooms at the front look out onto the main street so they may not be as quiet.

From our arrival until we left the staff were cheerful, courteous, attentive and helpful. The hotel was spotless and really comfortable. We ate there on our first night and the food was gorgeous - imaginitive (some cheaper cuts of meat cooked to perfection with scrummy sauces). The courtyard was lovely to sit out in with a drink or cuppa. Really big sandwiches for a late lunch on our second day - not for the faint hearted! Loved the drench shower in our room. A lovely weekend break, we would definitely stay there again if we went back to Lancaster.

The rooms were nicely decorated and had obviously been done very recently. The bathrooms were very nice. Locaton was excellent. Restaurant and bar area also very good. The room was very small. It didn't matter too much as we were only there for one night, but I certainly couldn't have spent much longer there, as there just wasn't room to swing a cat! The car park nearby uis a bit tricky. It tells you how to add up time periods to take you overnight to the next morning. However we put in an overnight charge plus extra 10 hours, so this should have been moire than enough. However the ticket only gave us up to midnight. Beware!!
