Score from 444 reviews Good
On arrival room had all windows open and door lock damaged. Room was freezing. Staff stated room was being aired? After un packing and settling in fault with TV identified, staff unable to fix so given another room. After managing to get some heat in the room went out only to return later to a still cold room and heater that approximately every hour decided to start up like a tractor. Informed staff the following day and was informed it was normal as was going through a cleaning cycle? At this point i gave up, put up with the next night, although it was warmer. Staff were polite and i generaly dont complain and would possibly return, but not during the winter.
Central location nice hotel
CLOSE TO CANAL
NOISY NIGHTCLUB OVER ROAD
We stayed here for a Saturday night to visit friends locally. We were in a twin room on the top floor, so even though there was traffic outside we heard nothing! Was peaceful and comfy.
Boutique style, comfortable, great breakfast and very central.
Nothing - great value for money (our second visit in 2 months!)
Bar area beautiful Victorian fiitings
Car parking on site limited.
Food and staff
Bathroom needed some maintenance
Overall room was good, the tea and coffee making facilities are good (which matters in cold countries), bed comfortable and room and bathroom nicely furnished. The entrance is a bit low key, but works well enough. Pub downstairs is rather nice. Nice views over the canal are possible. And it's a quiet enough spot.
Rowdy guests having conversations in the corridors at 2am. Not the hotel's fault, but would be good to tell guests when they arrive that they must be quiet late at night, unfortunately some of the guests are clearly not educated in hotel etiquette. This ruined my night's sleep.
Very short on parking facilities.
Modern room Comfy Beds Location
No milk proivided with the tea making facilities which was a shame as the variety of drinks provided was excellent.
Good size tv, wired internet, very powerful bath taps, excellent quality furnishings
Bathroom sink was far too shallow. Waste bins too small and if im really picky, the tv was too high on the wall.
Very welcoming for single woman traveller
Clean, quiet, comfortable room with good bathroom and great shower. Decent range of beers on draft.
No parking at hotel although a public car park is fairly close (2 mins walk).
The staff at the reception desk is very helpful and warm. The room is very clean, quiet and spacious. The location is very convenient.
Comfortable and convenient place to stay when visiting Lancaster and Morecambe. Food is very good, especially breakfast and the staff are great!
Parking is always a problem and can involve getting up by 8am! Being an older hotel, some of the rooms are quite small.
Very clean, comfortable bed. Friendly staff.
Reception didn't tell me there was a master switch. Other switches and bathroom taps similarly confusing.
Hotel was clean and comfortable and had a nice feel with its decor. Location was great. would definately look at other Thwaites Inns around the country is this is their standard.
Great location to stay if you are visiting students living in the City and good value too.
Very short walk to main centre. Car park over the road. Friendly reception staff. Well presented, boutique type decor in room. Lovely comfy bed. Broken shower door discovered next morning (don't understand how Housekeeping missed this); nevertheless, the Reception staff member was very apologetic and immediately offered a reduction on our bill - can't fault that can you. Would stay again.
Breakfast - I had very poorly cooked, rubbery scrambled eggs on dry toast. Didn't have the heart to complain, as there were only two members of staff front of house dealing with a VERY busy breakfast room (Music Festival weekend) in friendly, efficient way.
Lovely welcome and service generally very good. Fresh milk provided for the room and plenty of tea and coffee. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Location is central.
Being among screaming shouting female party goers at 2 in the morning, one of whom was so drunk she banged on our door thinking it was her friends room at 230am. Breakfast was slow and bacon very salty. Parking is an added expense especially if you aren't leaving after one night. No reduction in price offered despite no sleep and intervention of night porter as situation was so bad. A very expensive uncomfortable night.
Revolution club opposite hotel
In the center of Lancaster, near shops, restaurants, bars but also quite.
Great location in the heart of Lancaster. Large bar area and good reasonably priced breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed.
We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and our room was at the front of the hotel. There was noise from two clubs down the street until after 1.00 a.m and as the weather was fine lots of people outside. The stairs and hallway needed hoovering and the hall carpet had large stains.
Great central location
Twas all good
