The hotel was amazing. Despite arriving and found that they had no record of our reservation (through booking.com)- they sorted the problem out quickly with booking.com and even upgraded us to a suite. The brasserie meal was superb and service was impeccable. We stayed on our way back to San Francisco as wanted to stay somewhere special but near heathrow for our flight home. It certainly fit the bill and we would definitely stay longer next time to make better use of the superb spa facilities . Staff were helpful ,efficient and couldn't do enough for us. Overall: a superb hotel !

Excellent friendly staff and superb facilities I completely understand why they do not want children in/at the spa but I think they could emphasise this a little better on the website

The main hotel was beautiful and we had a lovely room (Sandalwood) with views across the golf course. As we got a special room only price I have no idea if this was a standard room but it was certainly extremely comfortable. The spa was very luxurious..(.a little bit over-the-top with the roman stuff but great facility) For the room- only rate this was a good deal but it obviously did not include breakfast (which was £42 for a couple!) but there was a kettle/tea/coffee etc in room (no biscuits though!) If you decide to eat in the "Latymer Restaurant" I recommend you have a meal beforehand! The miniscule portions would not satisfy a bird, so although tasy, we went to bed still very hungry. Having just spent £120 on the mea,l we were very disappointed indeed.

The spa was amazing and could have stayed far longer than the two hours I was given free from my kids! Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We had a private dinner in a function room and although the food was tasty it was served cold which was disappointing in view of its considered high standard. We enjoyed a pleasant evening drink in the bar which had a really nice atmosphere with piano player/singer. Our room was on the first floor, we booked a delux double it because of our two young children (to have two beds) and requested a cot. We would have thought that a lift may have been available, or else given a room on the ground floor, as we had to carry baby and pram up quite steep stairs. The spa was wonderful, but no pool access for children which for us was a shame although I agree the spa area is not a child environment due to the pool being separate to the thermal suites I feel a restricted swim time in the main pool could be offered for families with children.

The service was friendly and sincere making you feel welcome and relaxed. The spa was clean and well organised, found myself able to forget time and left feeling refreshed. Ate at the brassarie the food and wine was excellent and again the staff attentive but not intrusive. The room was comfortable and bathroom clean. Overall a lovely experience.

Our experience overall was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The Spa facilities are excellent and to be able to swim outside in late October a rare treat. The seating and paying in the brasserie could be better. We were kept waiting unnecessarily long to be seated as people were trying to pay. Also the bar still lacks warmth despite refurbishment. Our room was exceptionally hot but who would expect this temp in October!

Excellent hotel and spa. Service was absolutely flawless, staff went above and beyond to make us feel special- from remembering to say happy birthday on the way in, to upgrading our room and leaving a birthday cake as a surprise. We booked two rooms, one of which was a standard room - which was absolutely beautiful. We all thought it was the suite before we saw the second room. A tip would be to make a request if you have a prefeence between a contemporary or traditional style room, as the two rooms varied significantly in style and decor. Spa was beautiful and consistent with the quality of the hotel. Due to lack of availability we dined in the brasserie, which by no means felt a second rate dining experience. Breakfast is an occasion in itself, small touches like continually having our glasses topped up with fresh orange made a difference. The cakes and pastries baked on site were to die for! We were initially disappointed not to be able to reserve a table in the Latymer despite booking 2 weeks in advance. Additionally the Schnapps steam room and plunge pool were out of order when we used the spa.

It was extremely nice of them to upgrade our room - which we very much appreciated. And the birthday cake and card was a very nice touch,. I hate to complain when we are privileged enough to afford to choose to stay at a 5 star hotel ... however we both did feel somewhat disappointed by the lack of ambiance in both the bar area and the brasserie. We were also surprised by the attitude of the bar staff: the barman filled my whiskey glass with loads of ice and added the ginger ale without first asking if this is how I wanted to drink my whiskey - and when we ordered brandies in the bar after our meal it was plonked down in front of us - on enquiring whether they did not warm the brandy first (as we have experienced in other four star hotels (never mind five) the response was very lacklustre. Hmm ,,,, interesting attitude! Re our not inexpensive meal in the brasserie ,,, my partner's T-bone steak was very thin and extremely undercooked inspite of him having requested medium rare. We should perhaps have sent it back - but our reticence prevailed! However the breakfast the next morning was excellent - the atmosphere in the brasserie is far better suited to breakfast than to an intimate evening meal! All in all, we had a nice weekend because we were celebrating a special birthday - but would not return to php as it is just too impersonal - inspite of the best efforts of most of the staff!

The service and surroundings were excellent. We played tennis and had a nice relaxing session in the spa. The ascot bar and latymer restaurant were five star! We requested a menu for the latymer restaurant whilst drinking in the ascot bar and were told this wasn't possible even though we had booked a table

The facilities, the Caribbean bar-b-que, the golf course The small room (Epsom) we were in, the fact that we would have been charged another 100 Pounds/night for a decent room, the warmth of the room and the fact that the vertical fan didn't come close to cooling it off. As for the next question below, "yes" I'd recommend Pennyhill Park to others but only if they were given a decent room

We simply loved it! Dinner is excellent value for money but breakfast seems a little overpriced. Perhaps you could offer different breakfast menus and pricing options as the "Full English" isn't for everyone. My wife just had a few bits of bread and orange juice.

It was our third visit to the hotel. Living in Central London the hotel's location is perfect, being a very easy drive away. It is also very quiet which is a big plus as we have a 14 month old daughter. The spa is fantastic and very popular with my wife. The staff are also very helpful and efficient and it appears that there is little they won't do to make a guest's stay enjoyable. I would certainly recommend the hotel and we will certainly return.

We had a brief over night stay as we were at Ascot all day but really enjoyed the room and the wet room with TV! The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a choice of pillow. Great to have tea/coffee making facilities. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We didn't have time to try any of the spa facilities. I think the buffet breakfast at £21 per person is fairly pricey.

“My colleague and myself stayed 2 weeks in this hotel for business-purposes. We are very pleased with this hotel. It's family-run and the staff is very helpfull. The rooms are nice and the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and more personal than a hotel, while still having your privacy. The evening-diner is really recommended. If you like to walk or run, the forest starts just accross the road. I ran there 3 times and it was a very nice place to sport. Afterwards, it was time for a delicious croissant, ....” Michel, Turnhout |
