We really liked the size of the rooms with kitchenette. The food was delicious in the restaurant and the staff were friendly and attentive. The setting was extremely peaceful with bungalow style blocks. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting, and if my son ends up at Aber Uni, I will stay again.
The bathrooms needed updating, and there was no decaff drinks in the room or gluten free bread available at breakfast, which I realise is a bit of an ask. There was no phone coverage at all, but the wifi wasn't great to make up for it and I believe you had to pay if you didn't use the Cloud service.
Late booking meant we were not arriving until after 11pm rang ahead and our eventual arrival at nearly midnight was cheerily accepted by a guy who had obviously had to hag around. Woke to find we were in a beautiful valley with the 18th green 50 metres away. Quick early morning walk on the course and it looked impressive! Staff were great at breakfast too.
Slightly tired bathroom decor. Breakfast bacon frazzled. Had to go to work instead of playing the course
My booking for the hotel was cancelled at 24 hrs notice after having been booked for over a week. However they made the effort to put us in a caravan after I pushed as it was bank holiday weekend we were already away and no where to stay.
We waited an hour and a half for a meal in the evening, the caravan smelt of smoke, the wifi didn't work as it was 'overloaded'. I would not call it a country club but a caravan park.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast (with proper bacon: not that paper thin stuff you usually get) and really good value , tasty main meals. Room was spotless
They ran out of an excellent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Devastating! There was a golf competition on, though.
Well i had a bad experience with running out of deisel. The manager was just amazing he helped me sort the van with no second thought i couldnt have asked for better service he was helpful and made my holiday go from bad to a great break away couldnt as for a excellent stay. Highly recommended keep the excellent service up :-)
Carnt fault great service :-)
quiet location but within short distance of the facilities that we were looking for
The dining area for an evening meal being adjacent to and open to the bar meant the hub from the bar which is understandable is not conducive to a meal with quiet conversation
The master of the club is so so so so so nice, we were there to see our puppy and he helped us to check the bus time. However there is no bus cause it's sunday, then he sent us to our destination.
Staff and customer service were great. The double room we requested was very spacious and had fridge, microwave and tea\coffee facilities and the other extras. The grounds and room were well kept. There is a walk beside the golf course leading into the hills. Aberystwyth was only 10 miles away 20min drive.
The place seemed a bit out dated and could do with a revamp. Used the steamroom but again needed updating, had bits of tilling missing.
Car Parking near to room. Breakfast was very nice and hot.
Only one of us could use wi-fi at any one time. Plus it kept dipping in and out when you were connected. Bathroom was in need of a makeover i.e. mould around bath edge. Had swimming pool but no access to towels (had to use bedroom towels), I thought we might be able to hire some towels - perhaps they could introduce this and then more people would use the pool.
Great room with full facilities, plenty of space and very comfortable
Location' food service
Poor internet signal
Location, facilities, privacy and friendly staff excellent. These days, charging for WiFi? That aside look forward to return visit. Breakfast excellent also.
Charges for WiFi
Greeted with a smile. Everything was ready. Rooms were large and comfortable. Good breakfast choices available.
Good breakfast. Friendly staff
Very old fashioned and in need of a major refurbishment. Accommodation block was utilitarian and room had a ropey old sofa with a hole in it and a lumpy bed.
Quiet, peaceful location. Lovely clean room and comfortable bed. Car park very close to rooms. Good Food. Friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed the sauna and steam room but pool a bit chilly.
Leisure facility changing rooms. No mobile phone service.
Spacious room with kitchen facilities & very nice breakfast.
It was raining & poor mobile phone coverage
Food cooked in to much fat mainly full Welsh breakfast
Location excellent, very peaceful and quiet when we were there. Size of rooms and facilities were a pleasant surprise and with just a touch more attention to a few small details (see opposite) would be difficult to criticise - very good value for money. Food (breakfast) very good. Would recommend.
From a personal point of view, as back sufferers we found the beds to be not the most comfortable i.e too hard, however it did tend to detract from the overall enjoyment. Bathroom facilities were good, but patches of black mould around the bath tiling gave a bad impression bearing in mind that it would not be difficult to remedy. Larger cups/mugs would be better.
Comfortable beds. Clean and spacious rooms.
The phrase "country club" is a little misleading. This is a 1970s style caravan park with a golf course. £100 was way too expensive! Probably a good place for a simple family holiday, just set your expectations accordingly and get a good price. Location is the middle of nowhere, which some people might like. But a little to far away to comfortably go out in Aberyswyth.
Staff had no idea I was coming, told they were about to close when I arrived and that if i'd arrived any later there would have been nobody there to let me in, this was approx 2130 however check in times stated were until 2300. Breakfast wasn't served until 0800 which was too late so had to miss it.
Quite place very good food
Bed was terrible and beer was awful and expensive
Fantastic hotel really badly let down by the food.
Sitting up in bed with back on the headboard the bed kept sliding across the room - pretty annoying when you wanted to watch tv Room service took an hour and a half to arrive with meal, in fairness you did knock it off the bill but that wasn't entirely the point. Lunch the next day in the bar - the beef burger was cold and raw in middle - didn't bother eating it - not great. Dinner in bar early afternoon the 3 puddings we ordered needed chasing after a half hour, again not great. Staff were great but something is going very wrong in the restaurant area
The staff were nice and the food was good - I will stay there again and I stay at a lot of hotels but this one was very nice - Thank you
