In the bustling center of Ipswich, Novotel Ipswich has spacious rooms with large work desks and luxury rain showers.
Score from 339 reviews Very good
This 18th-century, family run hotel offers full English or light breakfasts, as well as evening meals. Located just 7 minutes’ walk from Ipswich town centre, it has free Wi-Fi and free parking.

This hotel is in the village if Copdock, a 15 minute drive from the center of Ipswich. It has a large, walled garden with outdoor seating, a 24-hour front desk, and free Wi-Fi.

A 5-minute walk from the center of town, Premier Inn Ipswich Town Centre (Quayside) is also across from the estuary and Ipswich marina.

Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
Bed very squeaky and not very comfortable.
Staff were outstanding. Location good for town centre...room was clean and smart.
The pillows!! They are way too thin and most uncomfortable. Even with 3 it was a restless night. Amazing how one small problem spoiler a generally excellent stay.
The room and the shower were great clean smart and functional
The pillows were like rocks
food excellent, staff friendly and good - rooms spacious and very clean
My room back on to the rail track and no double glassing would be able to block the noise and goods trains were all night long!! Also mattress the hardest I have ever attempted to sleep on ! Very hard it get confortable
Excellent rooms and public areas.
Food, whilst good, is very expensive and limited in choice.
to small a bed
The fact that there are plenty of other hotels in and around Ipswich for my next visit. This one is being crossed off my list.
Breakfast at £15 is a rip-off Poor selection of draught beer, and too expensive. Steaks at over £30 and then extra for the side dishes is extortionate. Having to pay for car parking.
Breakfast - excellent selection and included in price Perfect location for my needs (proximity to rail station and football stadium)
Ground floor room on main road (although I was offered a choice so can't complain)
Hotel was lovely, the only thing that let it down was the fact that you have to pay £6.00 to use the small car park and once paid your not guaranteed a space when you return from going out.
Bar area and location we're very good.
Horrendous nights sleep due to a group of drunken men coming in at 3am, woke us up. Contacted reception who informed me they would address but 2 1/2 hours later noise still continued after requesting that the police we're called no police arrived only to find out on reception in the morning no police we're called. The hotel has a 24hr alcohol license maybe this was why they we're never contacted #licenserevoked
Late opening bar, with pool table and comfy seating area. Good quality drinks and breakfast served. Late check out.
Lack of parking at the hotel. Although a car park was available a short walk away, this is not as secure.
The publice rooms were certainly very vibrant and different. The room was a good size, clean and mattress was good. We could walk here from the trains station as well as walking into the town centre.
small car park
I liked the size of the room very big very comfortable.
The bathroom wasnt the best. The lighting was very dim, not the best to apply make up in. The shower was a disaster. Was supposed to be a walk in shower, but the plug on the floor was blocked so the water covered the whole bathroom floor even through the door. This then left me and my boyfriend to put all the towls down to stop the flood.
quiet hotel, modern, clean
the view from our window, a dried, dingy bit of river..
The staff Pay for parking Air con not sufficient (had to go and buy a fan) Expensive bar
cleanliness and comfort
car parking facilities were limited and charging for parking is ridiculous..
I have stayed at this hotel before it was the pentahotel and I was not impressed, so was dubious about staying again but a friend told me it had really changed, wow they were right this hotel is lovely and classy and it's not even expensive! May I just say the food at this hotel is top quality the best steak I have ever had. In my opinion the restraunt could get a 5 star review on its own! The staff were amazing and always very helpful especially the food and beverages manager! Thankyou for a wonderful weekend!
The staff were polite and chatty. The hotel was clean but bare essentials only. Luckily I was just using the hotel to sleep whilst visiting relatives.
The hotel has declined since last year. It now fits a niche market and isn't welcoming to the average traveller. If black is your colour then fine. The shower had no power, the free Wi-Fi wasn't worth bothering with, and the room had no welcoming literature. I did not eat in. £13 for a burger is extortionate.
Clean, smart,modern hotel
Could not get served at the bar
Wifi was slower than Internet on my mobile phone and kept cutting off. Don't bother booking this if you are looking to be connected.
No water was available in the room, or at the vicinity. No complimentary breakfast provided, which is least expected by a guest. Room service extension was no where mentioned to me, so I had to come to the reception myself to expect the room service.
It is very modern hotel & we liked the different style of refurbishment. It was clean & tidy.
Our room was too minermalistic & basic ie in the shower room there wasn't anywhere to hang your towel & there wasn't a dressing table to get ready. Breakfast was under staffed therefore run out of cooked breakfast & replenishment was slow.
Location is good not far from railway station, town centre a 10 minute walk and clean room with tea an coffee facilities
When you actually find the entrance (we ended up going in through the side bar door ) the reception was bizarrely not to be seen so we went to the bar and found out that one end was the reception! Not easy to find in the dimly lit bar atmosphere
The hotel was so visually appealing - the entrance/bar area is very attractive and welcoming. We were very impressed with the appearance of the whole hotel. We went to the cinema and walked there via the bridge which was lovely and very close. Stage bathrooms within the hotel are amazing we were very impressed.
The cleanliness of it room was under expectations - white liquid mark on the wall and painting near our bed which we instantly recognised as an unwanted bodily fluid- yuk. Our pillow had a large stain on it as did our bedding
