Penventon Park Hotel is s a beautifully converted Georgian mansion house offering comfort and luxury from the moment you enter. The hotel aims to offer you a welcoming and lively atmosphere, excellent professional service and wonderful food. Whatever your reason for visiting, you should have all your needs catered for in this perfect sanctuary. This hotel aims to offer superb facilities and excellent services at competitive prices, making it a great place to stay when visiting Cornwall.

Food & beverage

Penventon Park Hotel boasts 2 bars; one being the cocktail bar which has a rich red mahogany bar complemented by luxurious furnishings where you can have an aperitif whilst studying the menu or just a relaxed drink with friends and family. The other bar is called the Spice of Life Pub; this has a warm, friendly and lively atmosphere with a slightly younger clientele. This bar shows all major sporting events and has a weekly quiz.

Nowhere is attention to detail and personal service more important than in the restaurant. The sumptuous décor, complemented by antique furniture and paintings, creates an atmosphere where you can enjoy a truly indulgent dining experience. The chefs create wonderful English, French and Italian dishes, all from top quality local produce.

Room information

All of the guestrooms were completely refurbished in 2002/2003 to a very high specification ensuring the hotel maintains its high standards of quality and service throughout. They are appointed to a very high standard, all with en suite facilities and with every modern facility for today’s discerning guest.

Area information

Cornwall offers visitors a diverse range of activities and distractions and nowhere is more central for travelling the county than the Penventon Park Hotel.

The cathedral of Truro is only a 20 minute drive away, with museums and fine restaurants as well as shopping and the Hall for Cornwall theatre.

Falmouth has all the diversions of a bustling port, including the modern Maritime Museum and passenger ferries that take you up the river towards Truro, across Carrick Roads to St. Mawes or around the coast to the Helford River.

Heading further west leads to the galleries of St. Ives or the fishing boats of Newlyn, while a trip to the east will take you to the historic port of Charlestown or the wonders of the Eden Project.

With beautiful gardens, quiet villages, stunning scenery and fascinating historic houses and monuments, including Carn Brea that can be seen from the hotel, Cornwall has almost everything and it is all right on the doorstep of the hotel.

Couldn't open the french doors in the room so no fresh air, and room smelt musty. Also room very hot, especially at night as no temperature control. Also no nets at window so had people walking past looking in which meant you couldn't really relax unless you kept the curtains closed.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The so called "delux rooms' were spacious but a bit worn out for e.g shower screen did not stay in place kept rolling away from the bath edge, which meant the floor got a good soaking. The decor of the room was a bit dated.

Pretty much everything was excellent - superb room, great food, good facilities, warm and welcoming reception.

If I wanted to nitpick I would say a quilt would have been better than blankets on the bed.

The hotel staff were very helpful when I encountered problems with an inconsiderate & noisy guest in the room adjacent to mine & arranged for me to be moved to a different room for the second night as the siad guest was also there for a second night

Charming Hotel, very friendly with lots of character

Shower screen leaked so did not use shower, but enjoyed a lovely bath, mentioned it to staff and they were going to look into it, apologised.

Staff attitude

First room poor reception on tv, inter connecting door to adjacent room not soundproofed. Secon room ok but tv reception equally as bad

very friendly and helpfull staff, meals were really good,hotel, pool nice and clean, room was really nice, good location for touring the area, nothing was a problem for the staff

Some of the Gym equipment could do with an update but its more than adequate, events were being held at the hotel which made it extremly hard to park, Deluxe room had the bathroom upstairs which was fine for us but for older people could well be a problem , people should be warned of this before they book.

Made to feel welcome

Booked top room available;which is shown on hotel web sites as luxury "antique" looking 4 poster spacious room in old building which was what I thought I booked. I got a modern room in a wing of the hotel and no 4 poster. So I feel advertising of premier rooms is not accurate
