We found Penybont b&b to be excellent. The whole place was very well looked after.
Outdated bedding, furniture and out-dated tv. positioning of furniture in twin room allows little space and unable to watch the tv screen without straining ones neck and head.
Good quiet location, very comfortable room, delicious breakfast, helpful host. Everything was very good apart from...
...a very hot room, even mid-nighttime, despite turning the radiator off. We do appreciate that getting heating to suit, especially in November, is hard!
We were made to feel very welcome. The property is a beautiful cottage tastefully decorated.John had gone to a lot of trouble to second guess the guests every need-even down to a torch by the bed in case it should come in handy. The rooms were clean and very comfortable The breakfast was excellent and John was a very good host. Penybont lived up to our expectations from reading other reviews and will be our first choice from now on
The quiet location with only two guestrooms; the warm and friendly hospitality; the quality of the furnishings; the cooked-on-the spot delicious breakfast; the value for money. (Did not try the Wi-Fi so cannot rate it).
The twin room is not big enough for an easy-chair, and the TV was very poor, but these are mere quibbles in comparison to the plus points.
Homely, friendly staff, gorgeous breakfast, a lovely accessible location, overall the perfect B&B. Could not recommend it enough. Perfect for those visiting Aberystwyth uni, not in the town itself but just a few minutes away in a quiet idyllic spot. Thank you for having us!!!
room very comfy breakfast was excellent staff always available situated in quite location
A perfect B&B in my opinion. a great room, a fabulous breakfast and the owner was a pleasure to chat with. Highly recommended and great value for money
Very comfortable, great night's sleep, plenty of milk, tea & coffee etc in the room! Bedroom & bathroom were spacious & the extra pillows & throws for the bed were warm & comfy. Breakfast was really nice too & John the owner was very welcoming. I will definitely be staying at Penybont again next time I'm over that way!
I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about my stay! :)
Comfortable bed, quiet nights sleep, excellent breakfast.
The location meant walking was not viable and nearest restaurants were some distance away by car.
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Warm, comfortable and spotless. Excellent breakfast. Will look for availability here first whenever I need to stay in Aber. Many thanks for looking after us so well.
Wifi is a bit slow, but I doubt if a faster connection is available outside the town.
Very friendly host, good breakfast, lovely location.
Very calm. The hosts are very attentional, they want to make sure you have everything at your disposal. The breakfast was divine and place really quiet
It's clearly outside the City (as indicated when you book). It's prefect if you are looking for a quiet place but you will need a car to get there.
John made us feel really welcome. breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. have already booked again.
John and his wife, very friendly, got a couple of lifts into town, felt at home. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
This was my second overnight stay at Penybont. John is a genial and generous host: nothing is too much trouble. He also cooks a great breakfast! The tea tray in the room is well-stocked. Peaceful location is handy for the town and the university. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.
John was a really nice guy and breakfast was great. Room okay and kingsize bed. John spent considerable time advising us of scenic routes thru back country road which was well worth while and much appreciated.
No soap or body wash and just a tiny amount of hand wash and very little shampoo in bottom of bottle. Should have mention this to John as I am sure he would have rectified it. Not being able to lock door was a bit of a concern.
Excellent find for a great overnight stay close to the university.
Great shower. Very nice host. Clean.
Bed was a little hard. No tissues. Location a bit far for dinner venues.
Wonderful Welsh cottage couple of miles from Aberystwyth, ideal location for exploring Welsh coastline. Host John brilliant and cooks the best breakfasts ever!
Friendly, helpful, & great attention to detail
Easy to find, lovely personal touch, John took great care of us , the room was really comfortable and breakfast was great.
Comfortable and clean with good en-suite facility. A good, substantial, English breakfast provided. Owner asked what time breakfast was required and provided same at different times, to different guests, accordingly. Very friendly and welcoming. Pleasant rural location with off-road parking.
No mobile signal - although good, included, wifi connection.
Road has a hairpin bend in one direction and a narrow bridge just outside. Penybont means Bridge End. Price you pay for staying in a rural welsh location.
Excellent rooms (we booked two for 3 persons) A superb breakfast, served professionally on a lovely big 'family' table. Everything earned top marks from us. Our host was particularly helpful with suggestions for eating out and other local points of interest. True, the access roads are narrow and the B&B is well away from town, but all this adds to the attraction of 'Penybont'. All told, this B&B is a real 'find' and I would recommend it without reservation.
