very friendly and helpful owners, made us feel very welcome. Lovely room, in keeping with the style of property. Breakfast very good, and lovely coffee.
Nothing to dislike.
Perfect poached eggs for breakfast. Friendly hosts.
Friendly owners and delicious breakfast, good sized family room
Customer-comes-first attitude of the proprietors, marvellous food and coffee/hot chocolate, clean and tasteful room - the whole experience made us feel 'important'.
Great location with adequate parking. Good breakfast. Comfortable room and shower
Great place to stay and The biggest breakfast I've seen offered anywhere - I couldn't finish it!
A lovely welcome and a fine hearty breakfast.
Trouble receiving the digital signal on some channels on the television and it would be good if the WiFi password was included in the welcome pack.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Quirky building, very friendly staff.
Very good breakfast. Our host Alan was very helpful at all times. He actually carried our heavy case up all the stairs for us.
Second floor bedroom for 2 x71year olds. Not straightforward to find the entrance.
It was such a pleasure staying at the penygawse. The hosts were so friendly and helpful! I will definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again!
We booked at late notice, needing a break from camping in the rain!:) We received a really warm welcome and throughout our stay we were advised well of places to go, eat (Kings Head was great) and everything was excellent. Our room was easily big enough for our family of 4 and was really clean and well laid out with ample tea, coffee, hot choc etc too. Great people and a great place to stay!
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back, we only stayed one night but found the facilities top notch, good friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast, anyone who is a coffee fan would love it as the tea room downstairs serves amazing coffee and tea at no extra cost to the room.
The staff were really excellent and it was the best breakfast that we had on our trip around Wales. The room was clean and comfy.
The bath shower set-up would be my only downside.
The building is right in the middle of town. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner and he gave us brilliant tips all around. He's passionate about coffee and the tea room downstairs is fantastic. Coffee is superb. Breakfast are a delight with plenty of options of perfectly cooked high quality stuff.
Lovely, really friendly owners, made us feel very welcome. Great location for walking in the Brecon Beacons and the great breakfast on offer will be sure to set you up for the day! Would highly reccommend this as a place to stay!
There was nothing we didn't like...apart from leaving on Sunday!
Centrally located in Llandovery, breakfast freshly cooked to order, nice granary toast, limited buffet eg cereals, fruit etc. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Excellent shower (room 3).
We stayed in Room 3 which was small but adequate, located at the rear of the building so was quieter. The general carpet on stairs and landed needed replacing/ updating.
Fantastic hosts, excellent breakfast and great value for money.
Lovely hosts who greeted us tired travellers with espresso. The best espresso out of Italy! We then learned that coffee is a passion of theirs. Lovely room and wonderful breakfast made our stay very enjoyable.
We received the warmest of welcomes
Very dark in the bathroom
The staff were incredibly accommodating, cheerful and warm. The tea rooms were lovely, coffee was excellent
The room was a little compact and rather hot, the windows could be opened fully but traffic noise was apparant
The location was very good, the breakfast was excellent. Both owners were friendly and made us feel at ease. They provided coffee, tea, chocolate and biscuits. They also provided shampoo, soap and essentials for the bathroom (this is very unusual!)
Floor board were a bit creaky, bed was a bit soft (personal choice I know).
The fabulously friendly welcome was just an indication of more to come: all staff were great providing super service; free coffee (barista trained staff) during the day; custom cooked breakfasts and assistance given with a smile at all times. The building is a treat and the location perfect for exploring the area. Highly recommended.
