Good staff, spacious apartment, very clean, comfortable beds.
Health club adjoining apartment a little noisy early in the morning but not too bad.
Loved the apartment, it was huge and very comfortable. The pool was great and overall we were just really impressed, we will definitely be staying again!
No phone signal unless in the carpark! The shower in the apartment could do with re-grouting, it was a little dirty (but really not the end of the world) and finally the walls were very thin, the next door apartment had a large group in and come 1am when we went to bed it was so loud you could hear their conversations - so some sound proofing might be an idea - but again its not the end of the world but for anyone having to get up early they might not be best pleased!
Room was very clean and cleaning lady was lovely.
Hotel didn't tell me that gym closes so early. Even there was sign on door to entrance 'No access'. (forced me stay in my room or use fire exit which was used by smokers, not ideal to show my little son) Hotel switched off wifi.I couldn't open window because of smell of cigarette. I was trapped in the room! I've never been this angry. I want my money back.
We booked the apartments because we wanted to find somewhere we could stay with 3 children under 4yrs. This seemed ideal as we could have a separate bedroom whereas most places just offered quad rooms with a cot.
When I filtered the search I requested family friendly hotels and this came up. It seemed ideal to have our own little apartment so we booked it. It shouldn't be marketed as family friendly. Children aren't allowed in the swimming pool during the week which was a huge disappointment. There was also nothing for them to do outside the apartment. The small health club restaurant didn't open for dinner until 6:30pm so we ended up going to the local shop to buy microwaveable meals. It wasn't what I was expecting at all and I read all the pre-booking info.
The location was perfect for us, as were the facilities within the apartment - large, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee were provided, as was a bottle of water and some biscuits. Toiletries in the bathroom were also provided and of good quality. Sunday brunch in the bistro was really tasty, and all the staff very friendly and helpful - even to the point of letting us take our bikes into the apartment! All in all exactly what we needed. Things you need to know: if you are staying on a Saturday and want to use the leisure facilities then get there early as they close at 5.30pm. Similarly, if you want to leave early on Sunday morning then be aware that the very tasty brunch that's included in the room rate isn't served until 10.30am.
Not a minus for us, but check if there is a wedding booking at Prested Hall during your stay; if there is then you will not be able to use either the bar or restaurant during that time. It didn't bother us as we had planned to drive to a pub in Feering for an evening meal, but if you don't want to drive then there's nothing really within walking distance. The hotel rang us in advance of our stay to make us aware of this, which I thought was excellent service.
Size of the rooms in the apartment Quality of furniture, fixtures and fittings
Attached to an adult only health club with awkward access (door security codes etc) Both 'communal' areas had huge TVs on sports channels constantly - no change, even when we switched one off in the 'TV Room', a member of staff came and put it back on.
Actual apartment was spacious and well-equipped. Windows not very large, but look out over tennis courts, hedges and country beyond. Quiet and good for working in, etc.
After booking, I was warned via e-mail that a wedding would be taking place in the main hall of property. What this meant was that I was not to go into main reservation/hotel hall. There is no phone in apartments and no real hotel staff, therefore to help. Entrance is rather shabby, via gym members entrance and for the high price of apartments, there just was not the support service. Gym staff helped when they could and were very friendly, but did not seem to know much about apartments. Some thing needs to be adjusted to provide a professional experience to apartment users for the price charged ($200+ per night). Also gym hours not convenient when I was there for me to really use gym, as I was working most days. Pool is lovely. Grounds are lovely. Just weird. Odd, perhaps private apartment was at end of hall with door open and people watching TV, etc. You just felt kind of abandoned in the apartments.
House & grounds On site facilities - pool, gym etc. Plentiful on site parking Excellent food and service Accommodation in annex modern and fresh. Perfect venue for a wedding
Rooms quite expensive - no discount offered if attending a wedding. Bar area too small and insufficient staff at busy times Poor draft drink selection, lager not chilled enough and overpriced. No air conditioning in rooms Noise from adjacent gym
The Villa was lovely and spacious with all the mod cons one would expect. It's location was quiet and peaceful. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained throughout our 2 week stay. I have to say the owners of the property were apologetic and were quick to return our deposit and the cost incurred having to use our mobile phone to contact the staff whilst at the villa. If the problems identified were addressed I would be more than happy to return to the villa and recommend it to my friends and family.
We were left without any internet connection for the best part of a week and when reported I felt the matter was not seen as on the staff's priority to do list. We were unable to get any T.V stations at all(not that important I know, but would have been nice to have the option).Issues with the hot water supply. Just some other small but I feel significant matters, such as some tiles had lifted around the swimming pool area which are a trip hazard and the fly screen on the downstairs windows were put in upside down. None of the clocks worked in the villa. As I said I am being a bit picky, but together they all add up.
Great room , comfy bed and superb strong shower , as we were attending a wedding over at Prested Hall ( which is a great venue ) we didn't make use of the gym etc as we had no time .
Layout of room
No balcony/garden no good for smokers
Great Staff Good Facilities Beautiful Location
