Secluded place, modern furniture and comfy beds. 3bedroom ensuite though bathrooms were dirty
When i booked listing said 3 bed cottage only to arrive to bachelors wing with 3 bed lounge but no kitchen, or even cups to make a cup of tea. Very disappointing as we were travelling witg young kids, had to unpack and go to nearest Kfc for food. Called the maid who said only those booked to main house have kitchen but not on our wing. Very disappointed, felt this should have been clearly stated on listing. When booking "3bed cottage" you expect to have own kitchen or at least access to one.
The staff were friendly but I didn't trust them as they said it had been cleaned and there is no way on earth it had-I'm not even a clean freak but I still have standards.
I'm sorry to say the place was so unclean it was distressing. There was a sticky dust everywhere. The cups, cutlery and glasses were sticky dirty and smelt! There were hairs and stain in the bed and the electric went off twice! So many other things but just sad that the price didn't reflect the poor state-if it had at least we could have chose whether we were prepared to put up with it or not! We had no choice though as we were so far from home with children :(
Excellent secluded and secure location, cheap
Single room was functional but adequate. Lacked TV
Leaving the place
Everything. Pour flith. Even the house maid was scruffy.
Quiet, secure location. Good value for money. Comfortable and spacious room.
Needs more prominent signage on access lane. Credit Card declined (Amex not accepted??) so forced into cash payment which was slightly inconvenient.
Even after asking to have the heating on in the accommodation when we returned from visiting our friends the room was stone cold, on a 3 degree October night. With a summer duvet on the bed it all lead to a very uncomfortable nights sleep. The shower was freezing and never gained any hot water and I couldn't have a cup of tea or coffee as no milk was provided so all in all we won't be returning and felt we should have gone for a premier Inn. Less cost more comfort easier to find and a hell of a lot warmer.
Space that the aartment offered
No staff present at all during our stay. A meet and greet would be nice
the horses on the way in
Stayed in the mobile home for up to seven people, The caravan stank of damp as soon as you walk in, Spent the night awake freezing and shivering with the kids, heating is poor, Dogs barking most of the night and also a loud generator of some sort right outside Needless to say we left before seven in the morning, The windows had water running down all of them the curtains soaking wet sun faded moth ate and growing with blackmould,Not a very good place for 90.00 a night, one of the pillows on the bed smelt like someone had been sick on it. Will be reporting to environmental health, If anyone was around we would have complained, but lacking in hotel features, Stated bed and breakfast but dont be fooled they dont do it Broken window in the kitchen, leaking in water, massive spider in the bedroom, old mouldy. microwave , didnt look in cupboards or fridge didnt dare We wouldnt even use the kitchen or the shower room, we left feeling dirty and the kids with coughs from mould which effected there asthma, I dont recommend the mobile home at all , so dont waste your money and read all the other reviews, we wont be going back ever Wish we had gone travel lodge for same price, Noticed they dont show picture of mobile home
very remote area just outside Birmingham. cottage was nice and comfortable.
no wi-fi was available for night. no dryer for hair. still not the big deal at least we had nice relaxing time.
Loved the location, staff were friendly. Kids loved all the horses on the grounds. We stayed in the east wing so had 3 bedrooms and a lounge all to ourselves, views were amazing. Good showers, very comfy beds and all round fantastic! Would definitely stay there again!
Location was so Peacefull
Hard to get into Location,Gated Entrance all were Key Coded. No one on site when we got there had to search for someone, took over an Hour to get into Accomadation,Same Problem in the Morn when time to go.Lady was nice when we Met her.
WAS NOT CLEAN AT ALL. CLEANSINESS WAS A BIG FAILURE! SPIDERS AND COBWEBS EVERYWHERE THE SPIDERS WERE EVEN CRAWLING BEHIND THE BED POSTS. COULD NOT SLEEP AT NIGHT! SLEPT IN ONE ROOM 4 OF US AND BABY BECAUSE OF THE HEATING NOT TURNING ON IN EVENING!!!
The setting was very nice. It is located in the country.
It was very hard to find this place. Upon arriving the place was in disarray. When going to bed that evening one person found a hair clip and other objects in the bed indicating the sheets had never been changed. The floors were filthy and had not been swept. Avoid if all possible!
Quite expensive compare to cleanliness. TV sky has been confirmed but not provided. One of ceiling bulbs was off and size of the room was very little for a family.
It looks nothing like the picture. We were greeted by a man who hardly spoke any English in the carpark. Did not see any other staff he did not engage in any conversation with us. He took us to the back of some stately some and gave us this very tiny room in back. It was DEFIENTLY NOT A COTTAGE.....
Park Hall main building had lots of character and a good rural view.
No signs from the road for Perriford Barn Cottages or Park Hall Estate. No staff there on the weekend we stayed (had to ring a mobile number and were directed from the car park). Had to walk through an untidy working farm courtyard to get to the "Cottages" (an annex to Park Hall). Room itself ok but window was overgrown with bushes and 3ft high weeds in the courtyard corridor leading to the room. Three TV remotes in our room but no TV. Wifi didn't work unless you walked through the annex corridor and into the Park Hall function room. You would be disturbed by other guests using the interior courtyard if there was a function on at Park Hall.
The cottage that we were finally allocated was very comfortable.
There was no customer service - no-one met us or registered our arrival. We were given an unsuitable cottage - not what was booked. No-one from the management team was present and the difficulty was dealt with by a young man who was not staff. The land line went unanswered and the mobile no. we were given belonged to the owner -who was not on site. Chaos. No satisfactory reply to my email of complaint has been received.
Size of room lack of organisation no one met us telephone number given was answered then hung up Only by chance three phones two txt did someone offer to help.
Left sat waiting in layby waiting for instructions to get in property, complete joke, the guy who should of been there to meet us we didn't see all weekend!!!!!! Got the impression they didn't want anybody there, just probably need your money. Bumped into the owner twice, 1 word...... RUDE !!!! The cottage was far from clean. Shame really cos has the potential to be beautiful !!!!!!!!!
The grounds leading up to the house are beautiful. The setting was really good. The room was clean and tidy
No one to greet on arrival. Had to walk through a fallen down courtyard past a tatty caravan to get to the room. Didn't like a shared bathroom. The walls were very thin could hear next door stirring tea.
Our visit started badly we were given the wrong room /key and had to return to the hotel to change it, we were directed to our new room over the phone! On returning at about 11.00 the outside lighting was not switched on and we had to negotiate a very uneven path with our IPhone torch. We were not aware of the fact that it was right next to a hotel/function centre with late night disco, already having had a disturbed night we were woken at 6.00 in the morning by revellers in the grounds outside our room which opened straight to the outside and then by people on the sunbeds for the pool which turned out to be on the other side of our bedroom wall, would not recommend.
Beautiful setting nit far from Birmingham
Firstly the listing is for Periford Barns and Cottages but the sign by the road is Park Hall. It took us ages in the dark to find the place. We never encountered a staff member, turned out there was no breakfast even though it was a B&B and one half of our cottage suite was inaccessible as it needed a separate key to enter and we could never find anyone to help us. We were unable to check in or out officially. The wifi was so weak we kept losing it and when we used the contact numbers to get help we were made to feel that we were being a nuisance. NOT what a B&B is all about.
Loved the peace we could let the children play outside without worrying met a lovely family and their son Harry (they helped run the place)they made us very welcome Would go back in a heart beat we were all so relaxed when we got home
