A very beautiful and clean hotel - the lobby, common area, and the room (mine was a single room, quite spacious for London hotels standard) are decorated with taste and class. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Some took pictures for me as I traveled on my own. The food at the hotel restaurant was very tasty which has a bit of british twist and I absolutely loved it. I was originally charged a phone call bill to the pizza shop which I didn't make. It was only a few pounds but I did not make the call! They took it out in the end although still thinking it was me who made the call. Really made the beginning of my birthday unpleasant. So here's the story: I felt like having some hot food after ordering cold sandwich from the room service quite late at night. So I called again asking if they knew any takeaway restaurant who offers hot food. The room service person told me that he will call me back after requesting the reception. Few mins later I got a call (I thought it was the reception) asking me if I want Dominos pizza. I rejected and asked if there's any Thai food. That person said no and hung up. Anyway, apart from that the stays were very enjoyable.

The location of the hotel was the main reason why we chose this particular hotel. The staff were friendly enough and any requests we had were dealt with in a timely manner. The standard of the room and actual room facilities were not what we expected for the price of the room. We expected much more and have paid a lot less in the past and received better room facilities. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower was awful, I presume this was due to very poor water pressure but you would think a hotel like this would not have this problem. There was also mouldy grout in between the bathroom tiles.

The building was very cool inside and out. Diidn't like that they want you to pay for breakfast in advance on your room bill. If you don't they charge an extra 4 lbs. At the restauurant if you decide to have it there. It was a good breakfast though. They say they take visa but both our cards wouldn't work. Nothing to do with our cards it was there connection that was faulty. That was stressful because they offered no solution so we wondered how we were going to pay. In the end it worked out, they found an old machine and we signed for it.

I like the Hotel, the food at the restaurant and specially the breakfirst and location was absolutly amazing. I didn't like the way they treat customers as a luxuous hotel I was expecting more consideration. I didn't like the wake up early in the morning as we were on weekend break looking for calm and serenity. The landscape is amazing but staff are stressful!

Loved the staircase and view from the restaurant. Lovely large room, parking and helpful staff. I would have liked a roll top bath or spa bath which most expensive hotels have.

The Petersham is one of those good things that you only tell friends. If you want to stay in West London and have access to the great houses and collections, but also to the Surrey countryside, you could not choose better. The site on the side of Richmond Hill gives unique views along the Thames and far to the west. The quality of the staff is exceptionally high, in all departments, and the rooms are well furnished and well-cleaned. The dining room standards are amongst the half-dozen best in Richmond - and the other recommended restaurants are within a 10-15 minute walk if you want alternatives. Conversations reveal that guests are very likely to be repeat bookings, with some business people and overseas visitors who have found out!

The location is wonderful overlooking the Thames. Friendly staff, many different nationalities. No porter service though. Food was good but slightly below expectations for Easter Sunday.

Luxury for a very reasonable rate. The view across the Thames was stunning. My only niggle was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom.

Nicely positioned away from traffic, good car park, very good evening meals, very good views from the hotel. Despite really liking the hotel we had two problems with the room. The shower head was partly blocked so flow rate was poor and most jets that worked sprayed in the wrong direction. One of the two catches at the back of the loo seat kept on working itself loose si the seat became very wobbly.

It was an extremely self satisfied and stuffy hotel where the staff were rather haughty. The room was small with a view of the car park but the breakfast £20 for 2 was brilliant and very tasty. The location is fab so with better people management this could be outstanding. The Petersham was chosen for my son's wedding because of the river/Richmond location. The Civil ceremony was well arranged, the `wedding Breakfast excellent and the accommodation for the party of six who stayed several days was excellent. The Petersham and the staff contributed greatly to a very happy occasion. There was nothing that jarred about any aspect of our stay.

Location, friendly staff, good breakfast for £10.00 I booked a single room which was particularly small. As the Hotel was not full I think it would have been a good plan to upgrade me to a better room.....this is not a complaint, merely an observation which would have improved my stay

We loved the location, the elegance of the hotel and the staff, (especially Amelio), to be very helpful. It makes all the difference when traveling to stay in a place where you are taken care of and made to feel like you matter. The service all around was impeccable.

Fantastic location and environment. Early morning walk along the Richmond riverside is a superb start to any day, business or pleasure. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the River Thames is always enervating. The Petersham takes the pain out of business hotel lifestyle, it feels like my second home!

The Petersham Hotel is situated at the top of a hill with a wonderful view over the Thames. It is an easy walk along the bank of the Thames into the town of Richmond. We particularly liked the peaceful room that we stayed in. Breakfast was taken in a room with huge windows, again with superb views of the Thames with its barges and boats. All the staff at the Petersham were very friendly and our room was clean and ready for us before the two o clock check in. The only thing that worried us a little was the parking. The day we arrived there was a wedding and the car park was full. We were lucky because after a short wait someone was leaving and we had their parking spot. There are a lot of parking spaces but it would worry me that i might not be able to park.
