Loved the history and old world charm of the property and setting. Great setting for a wedding or party.

Breakfast on Sunday is not served until 8am, unfortunately we were teeing off at 8:30 so had to have a continental breakfast, but this was very good.

The restaurant and food was good. The room had a nice view

The bed should have been replaced five years ago, very hard, broken springs and two nights with no sleep. Every movement in bed bought a noise from the broken springs

Loved the atmosphere & feel of the place. The link with 617 squadron during the war is very apparent & the bar that was used for the officers is a must see. The food & general friendliness of the staff was 1st class.

Maybe the bathrooms could be touched up a bit but that's nit picking really.

As this hotel was once the officers mess for 617 "Dambusters" squadron, it seemed fitting to stay there the night before seeing the reunion of two Lancaster bombers at Coningsby. Great staff, super interesting hotel if you like aviation history. Good food, good value.

Didn't have the best of outlooks from our room but did book late.

    The setting and gardens

Dirty carpets in the bedroom.Being a contortionist to reach the toilet roll and a poor shower (very little pressure).Quite noisy in the morning with banging doors, we were opposite the doors to the main stairs.

The history, gardens and character of the hotel were fantastic and the breakfast was first class. Staff very helpful and courteous.

The tiredness of the rooms. Old beds, creaky and noisy floors that ruined my two nights sleep when anyone moved about. It was a shame but I was glad to leave after two days.

Lovely grounds, friendly staff and wonderful food. Very interesting and moving history makes this a special place to stay

Swimming and tennis available at inconvenient times for us - would prefer facilities on site and not public

Location of the hotel to the centre was good, and room sizes were more than expected. We had a 3 year old and accommodated quite easily.

Terrace furniture was not the most comfortable

Gardens, look of hotel, location, bedroom

being told at 9.30 the kitchen had closed, like a scene from Fawlty Towers, never stayed in a hotel before where all you can get to eat after 9 is crisps and nuts, has nobody told the management we are in the 20th century

Totally unpretentious, with such lovely obliging and friendly staff. Beautiful grounds where all ages enjoy the sunshine, the brilliant afternoon tea and spitfires and a Lancaster flying overhead. Perfect weekend and we've already booked to return. This country hotel has such a great vibe, 1940s when we were there, and such a great location for those interested in WWII aircraft and history.

Comfortable bed and quiet room. I was visiting as my nephew had his wedding there and this was an ideal location, the beautiful buildings and superbly manicured vast grounds were a perfect setting. The history of the building and the 617 squadron photo's and memorabilia added to the stay. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. My nephew had his reception elsewhere so cannot comment on other meals.

Bedroom a little worn but comfortable and clean.
