Unique building with wonderful carved woodwork, and Dambuster room with corridor memorabilia. Extensive grounds, pools and 1920's Kinema adjacent with theatre organ. Very quiet location

Lift only took 2 persons realistically, though rated for 3

Location & some public rooms are quite grand.

Staff (at breakfast) were either non existent or abrupt, room small and over priced, hotel tired.

I came to Petwood specifically because it was the Officer's Quarters for 617 Squadron. The Squadron Bar is a wonderful tribute and memorial to all members of 617, as are all the many paintings. It is to the owner's great credit t6hat this link with the past is maintained. I shall visit again and tell my like minded friends. The food was very good, the room had a great view and was very comfortable

Nothing to not like

The hotel was welcoming, the staff helpful; when I had a problem with one room, I was immediately moved to a different (and better) one. Restaurant meal was very good. I enjoyed the ambiance (but part of my reason for visiting was its past association with 617 Dambusters Squadron).

Friendly, helpful staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Lovely cosy convivial surroundings with open log fires everywhere. Large bedroom with fantastic views over the gardens. Good value for money. Will definitely stay here again.

The greeting, the ambience of the hotel, it is a good old fashioned hotel with levels of service to match. The dinner was outstanding and the breakfast (although slow in coming) was first class and well worth the wait.

Some rooms are a little 'tired'

For an executive room, a little sparse and dated. The bedding and towels were a bit basic and tired looking.

Service was fantastic views were great i would say it was the best stay in a hotel that i have had it was so friendly

Location, the gardens, the history of the building. Great breakfast. Loved all the signed Dambuster artwork.

On arrival we were upgraded to the Weigall Suite which was the size of a small cottage and delightful. Very friendly staff, delicious food and a great ambiance in the hotel. We have a Dambuster connection so the Squadron Bar was of particular interest. The bonus was an antique fair just round the corner from our room! Woodhall Spa is an attractive village with interesting shops and amenities.

I went to the Petwood Hotel for one night with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. We picked it as we love Woodhall and knew we wouldn't be disappointed. On arrival the hotel looked delightful in a picturesque countryside setting. The hotel has an old manor house type feel about it, which we loved. The crowning moment was at the front desk when we were told we had been upgraded to an executive suite. The room was lovely, with a flat screen tv, table and chairs, bed and en suite. No mini-fridge though, but that didn't really matter to us. We left the hotel in the evening and enjoyed a meal at the nearby Medditeranean Reataurant 'Zucci'. We had previously not heard about the restaurant and thought it was very cool and relaxed. The food was nice 8/10. We then moved on to the beautiful Kinema In The Woods, also found in Woodhall Spa. This is a favourite of ours and I recommend it to any people staying at Petwood. We returned to Petwood and enjoyed a nice breakfast in their lovely restaurant the next day, although I wouldn't have put black pudding in it. We checked out around 11 but shall be returning again in the near future to try out the beauty treatments and the falconry and other aspects of the hotel. 9/10
