We had 2 couples, both rooms were beautiful, clean, well-appointed and roomy. There is a nice lobby lounge area with an extensive collection of books and local info. It is located on the outskirts of town (too far to walk) but the reward is being in beautiful countryside! There is a bistro/lounge at the hotel which had a nice, reasonably priced menu and we wished we had eaten there! We only stayed one night, but would have planned to say another night or two if we had known how nice it was. Would definitely return Pool was closed for refurbishing during our visit, we did not know this prior to arriving and would have enjoyed that!

My daughter and I were attending my nephew's wedding in Selkirk. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though we were only able to book in for one night. We enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast and were delighted with our stay. The hotel was easy to find and is in a good location and has attractive grounds. The ease of booking on the internet was a great help.

Great hotel, friendly helpful staff, good location for our purpose. Breakfast excellent, evening meal menu not varied enough for our taste, and quite expensive. Would certainly stay again on a B&B basis.

Excellent staff, very comfortable and well appointed room, decent food, the hotel was just right for a stay in this lovely part of Scotland. Nothing to dislike apart from possibly slightly expensive.

Room was very comfortable. Hotel generally at a high standard and an interesting country house feel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meal was very good but a little too fussy, combined with large portions. Perhaps they are catering for hungry farmers!

I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay here. Helpful, friendly staff. Tastefully decorated, with some lovely quirky features. Good for people who want peace and quiet. Not for those who want lively, nightclubbing atmosphere. Tasty full English breakfast (and continental) and, although I only had a salad from the Bistro (as on diet), it was delicious. Plenty of parking. For smokers, I don't mind having to go outside to smoke but it would be good if there was a roof canopy to protect you from the weather, perhaps nearer the building. There may be something in the back garden, which I did not go out to.

One of those rare hotels where we found that there was nothuing to dislike. The room was very comfortable, witha pleasant view over the garden. The staff could not be more helpful and the food was extremely good. An ideal hotel for a stay in the borders, sitruated in the central part of the Tweed Valley. Thoroughly recommended.

Quiet and quite luxurious...nice place to stay. Too many do and dont signs...these Health and Safety signs tend to spoil hotels and most are not necessary.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we had a very nice dinner. There was plenty of space in the car park. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the small, ancient town of Selkirk, which has a very interesting history, and is set in the midst of beautiful, rolling hills. We visited during the Common Riding, which is a local festival, only one of many in the area. The streets of Selkirk are quite steep so it would be better for those who have any difficulty walking to use their car.
