This wisteria-clad historic hotel is uniquely located by the banks of the Thames River, close to Heathrow and Reading airports.

Just 1300 ft from Henley’s famous Thames River, Milsoms Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Henley-on-Thames Train station. It has a seafood restaurant and boutique bedrooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 223 reviews Very good
Stepping back in time to old colonial Britain in fabulous surroundings but if you are not prepared to dress properly don't bother.wonderful, memorable experience.
Location is great.
All around the edges of the room really dirty where hoover cannot reach. Beds uncomfortable and room far too hot, even when radiator turned off.
The hotel is situated in a great location right on the banks of the Thames. Ideal for a walk if the weather is good. We found the food very good. It is very clean with good facilities.
Didn't like the bed. The mattress is of the "memory foam type" and regrettably neither of us got on with that and didn't get a lot of sleep. This is a personal preference of course and not a slight on the hotel but was passed on to reception staff.
Fridge in bedroom
Unable to use club facilities
Location on riverside, clearly a place to visit in summer Good breakfast
Only Room Service Menu available on Sunday night and this equated to very average sandwiches - not good enough for a hotel charging £140 per night
The grounds were beautiful. Our room was small (as is the case for most U.K. rooms) but overlooked the river. The breakfast was good, the staff friendly. The WiFi was included. We would certainly stay there again if we were in Henley and would recommend this to others. The original building dates from the 1600's and is mentioned in the civil war (go to the Henley Museum - well worth a visit).
The room was very comfortable with a great view. The service from the staff was excellent; they were always friendly and helpful. Fabulous breakfast consisting of good quality food and a wide choice of dishes to suit most palates and tastes. As a great plus, the bath was deep enough for a good soak.
There was nothing at all I disliked. All was perfectly excellent.
attentive and friendly staff and an excellent breakfast
long walk from lift to disabled bedroom, no door stop to hold room door open while trying to access with wheelchair.
We booked the restaurant as one of our party has difficulty walking and we did not want to travel. We received confirmation but were only told a few days before that as it was a B/H Monday it would be closed. Only on arrival were we told that the bar would also be closed. We were offered a cold meal in the evening but as we had been out all day this wasn't sufficient. We were therefore given a very small discount on our room rate. The hotel should make it very clear at the time of booking that these facilities would not be available and not leave until until later.
Cushions on bed - superfluous and in the way. And all facilities for evening meal closed as it was Sunday evening.
That we got back late after a festival and the night porter made us a great selection of sandwiches and bought them to the room at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, comfortable and nicely decorated .breakfast was very good. Location was perfect with gardens by the river
That we only spent one night
We were superbly looked after at a perfect location
Excellent location. Beautiful walks along the tow path and within walking distance to the centre of Henley. Hotel very nice. Food in the Orangery Restaurant was excellent. Good breakfast too.
As a private members club there are some areas and facilities which were not accessible to us.
It is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.
The showers are quite hard to use given that they are shower attachments over a bath. For the cost and type of hotel I would expect a proper shower.
I wrote in my booking that Wifi of good quality is a MUST for me, but it never worked in my room, only next to the reception was possible. Its not a hotel its a home for elderly. Always a long que to the reception with elderly that need help with something.
Great old style traditional accommodation right on the Thames.
Ambiance, comfortable beds, rooms and good bathrooms
Breakfast and service very poor quality, no food available on Sunday Evenings
Nice breakfast. Good lounge, bar area.
Over priced. No chair in bedroom. Overlooking building works.
warm welcome our room views of gardens and river Thames general ambiance excellent food and service in the dining room gardens and terrace orangery(breakfast)
no problems we liked it all
The position on the river at Henley is world class and the facilities good. The evening was fine but in spite of the prior warning about a possibly noisy event intruding. It didn't but . .
. . the next morning was Saturday and we had hoped for a lie-in and late breakfast. Suddenly at 8.00 it sounded like the Third World War had started outside our room as a tree-felling gang began chainsawing and mulching branches. The was no manager to consult only an unsympathetic receptionist who said there was nothing she could do. We left and had breakfast in the town!
Charming environment and beautiful position overlooking the river
Building works starting at 8am in the morning - not the peaceful start to the day !
The situation was beautiful and very convenient for Henley town
Very poor breakfast and room very poor for the money. Not allowed to use facilities and all the rules about what you can wear and areas that you are not allowed to use your phone etc. It is almost like you are inconveniencing them to be a hotel guest! This is a club and maybe it should of stayed that way!
ROOMS WERE BEAUTIFUL
BAR WAS A BIT STUFFY
