Room so small knocked knee on end of bed
Stairs after full day of walking
Location, Price is competitive for the area
Ensuite bathroom was about the size of an airline toilet
Friendly receptionist Clean rooms Quiet Close proximity to paddington station&nice restaurants
I chose this hotel for an overnight stay close to an event I was attending last night (13 October). Extremely convenient for Paddington Station and attracted by the images on Booking.com, I was bitterly disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. I cannot fault the staff; very friendly and helpful. However the twin room I was allocated left a lot to be desired. Once opulent curtains had fraying edges. There was a constant drip from the tiny shower room ceiling leaving the floor constantly wet. I wasn't sure where the leak was coming from. In the main, the room was clean but trying to find the switch for the bathroom mirror light, I ran my hand along the top of the casement and it was disgustingly filthy. Hot water took an age to run through and there was mould developing in the small shower cubicle. No lifts. Fortunately I was on the second floor so did not have far to go but understand that there are two further floors. With heavy suitcases and narrow stairs, that could prove difficult. I was also concerned about the safety aspect. The room was fitted with a smoke detector but there were no evacuation instructions or general safety notices anywhere in the room. Cheap deal at £112 for the night but I would have been far better off staying at a Premier Inn for about the same price.
The staff were very helpful.
you have many options - fruit, bread, eggs, sausages, biscuits, etc.
the biscuits and cereal are not fresh.
Centralized location. Walking distance to most major city attractions. If u take big bus tour, there's a stop nearby the hotel. Halal moslem foods are abundant around the area. Souvenirs shops open til 2300hours making the stay more enjoyable. Very lively at nite in the area yet the hotel is very peaceful n quiet. Breakfast buffet spread are halal n varieties.
Room is a bit small for quadruple. But being in London, that is acceptable.
proximity to the center, underground, quiet neighborhood, rich breakfast, perfect for one-night stay only
small rooms and bathrooms, outdated flooring
Short straight walk from station Friendly staff Tea and coffee in room Clean, tidy room, good shower
No lift Breakfast limited and dining space cramped Bed uncomfortable
Location is good Clean hotel
You can get much nicer hotels for only a little more money.
Room has been too small. If you live on the highest floor, you'll have to climb all the narrow flights of stairs which can be tedious for those elderly as well.
Good location close to padding ton tube station - 5 min walk
Room on 5th floor - narrow staircase - no lift - receptionist helped to take bags upstairs- dirty lobby Had to keep windows open for fresh air - no coffee or tea making facility - shower literally like a mini sprinkler Money taken from credit card at booking although said otherwise on booking . Com Poor quality breakfast although a big spread of cheap stuff
Is within walking distance of an underground station and Hyde Park.
To start, the hotel is in need of a makeover, the décor is tired and worn. The sink in the bathroom had a crack in it, meaning when it was filled part way water would run out onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom itself was in need of a good cleaning. The breakfast room was a small side room in the basement with a handful of tables, it wasn't big enough to hold more than a couple of rooms worth of guests. The meat, eggs and beans all looked reheated at least from the day before. It didn't look appealing at all. We were then horrified to find ants in the bowls of cereal and crawling in the honey on the table! Needless to say we didn't risk eating or bother heading down for breakfast the next morning. I booked the hotel reduced on a deal through booking.com and still feel as though we paid well over the odds. Next time I will definitely pay the extra and stay at a chain, at least then I'll know what to expect!
Location, just a few minutes to Paddington station and the same few minutes to Hyde park. Breakfast was very good, exceeded all expectations.
Really close to Paddington station, only five minutes. The staff is really nice and tries to help you in everything. Most likely I will book this hotel again when coming to London next time.
The WiFi connection was really poor, sometimes it didn't work at all
- Great location, three or four minutes' walk from Paddington Station. Also close to several local bars and restaurants (but not in an area that was "rowdy"). - Despite being in the centre of London, room was pleasantly quiet. - Upon arrival, everything was clean and tidy. Clean towels, sheets, soap, shower gel, toilet roll etc all provided. All basic but functional. - Continental-style breakfast was very good indeed, with a good selection of cereals, breads, fresh fruit, juice, etc. - Staff were friendly and polite.
- Some niggles with the facilities: TV service suffered so much "artefacting" that it was essentially un-viewable (not sure if this is a permanent problem or a temporary glitch though.) - Two fans are provided (not sure why as one is enough). One of the two didn't work. - More annoyingly, the shower gave an inconsistent water flow, at times cutting out entirely. - The bed was noticeably shorter than I'm used to in hotels - if this is typical of the Piccolino as a whole, I wouldn't recommend it to taller people (I'm 6"2) if you're bothered by sleeping with your legs bent or your feet suspended over the end of the bed. - There's no ironing board, not even available by asking at the front desk.
We arrived early but the man on Reception was happy to keep our bags. We asked for a room on a lower level, since we both have knee problems, and were allocated one on the lower ground level. Lovely room, lots of space, plenty of tea and coffee and comfortable beds. The staff are charming, cheerful and helpful and breakfast consisted of more variety than I've ever experienced. I don't know whether to shout about how great this place is, or keep it to myself!
Great location, cosy room, friendly staff and healthy breakfast ...
cleanlyness, mattress was comfortable, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. Lovely shower lots of hot water. Good location for city break and sightseeing.
lots of stairs but staff carried suitcases and what does one expect for the price?
Its all ok for the price
Friendly and good location
Bed too high and too soft
Staff very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good for a London small hotel
Climbing narrow stairs
Beds - were very comfortable Location (proximity to Hyde Park) Room was clean and well-presented (but unventilated due to basement location) which was a bit of a shame but didn't spoil our overall experience
Breakfast room was also in a basement location and unventilated. It was very cramped and in need of refurbishment, however the food was varied and of a reasonable quality. Overall it was OK but nothing more..
Room was nice, very clean and well appointed. Bathroom was small but very recently re done and modernized. The breakfast good with lots of choices. Lots of fresh fruit. The man who runs the place, and the ladies running the breakfast are all very nice.
Since the building is quite old, there is no elevator, but the manager brought our bags up for us.
