Location, just a few minutes to Paddington station and the same few minutes to Hyde park. Breakfast was very good, exceeded all expectations.
Really close to Paddington station, only five minutes. The staff is really nice and tries to help you in everything. Most likely I will book this hotel again when coming to London next time.
The WiFi connection was really poor, sometimes it didn't work at all
- Great location, three or four minutes' walk from Paddington Station. Also close to several local bars and restaurants (but not in an area that was "rowdy"). - Despite being in the centre of London, room was pleasantly quiet. - Upon arrival, everything was clean and tidy. Clean towels, sheets, soap, shower gel, toilet roll etc all provided. All basic but functional. - Continental-style breakfast was very good indeed, with a good selection of cereals, breads, fresh fruit, juice, etc. - Staff were friendly and polite.
- Some niggles with the facilities: TV service suffered so much "artefacting" that it was essentially un-viewable (not sure if this is a permanent problem or a temporary glitch though.) - Two fans are provided (not sure why as one is enough). One of the two didn't work. - More annoyingly, the shower gave an inconsistent water flow, at times cutting out entirely. - The bed was noticeably shorter than I'm used to in hotels - if this is typical of the Piccolino as a whole, I wouldn't recommend it to taller people (I'm 6"2) if you're bothered by sleeping with your legs bent or your feet suspended over the end of the bed. - There's no ironing board, not even available by asking at the front desk.
We arrived early but the man on Reception was happy to keep our bags. We asked for a room on a lower level, since we both have knee problems, and were allocated one on the lower ground level. Lovely room, lots of space, plenty of tea and coffee and comfortable beds. The staff are charming, cheerful and helpful and breakfast consisted of more variety than I've ever experienced. I don't know whether to shout about how great this place is, or keep it to myself!
cleanlyness, mattress was comfortable, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. Lovely shower lots of hot water. Good location for city break and sightseeing.
lots of stairs but staff carried suitcases and what does one expect for the price?
Its all ok for the price
Friendly and good location
Bed too high and too soft
Staff very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good for a London small hotel
Climbing narrow stairs
Beds - were very comfortable Location (proximity to Hyde Park) Room was clean and well-presented (but unventilated due to basement location) which was a bit of a shame but didn't spoil our overall experience
Breakfast room was also in a basement location and unventilated. It was very cramped and in need of refurbishment, however the food was varied and of a reasonable quality. Overall it was OK but nothing more..
location to hyde park
nothing notable as we only slept and showered there. room clean, beds comfortable plenty of hot water.
Good for location (10 mins Paddington), friendly staff, nice local bars, plenty of choice at breakfast.
Top floor room (six flights of stairs, no lift!) - it was very attractive but far too hot for me. There was a fan but it was too noisy to sleep with it on, so not a good night's sleep! The shower also lacked pressure - I guess due to being top floor.
Staff as exemplified by Adnan. Proximity to Paddington station, all Hyde Park locations. Breakfast choices were plentiful. Again the staff were most accommodating re: storing bags, directions, etc.
Beds were not as comfortable as expected. While a small complaint, we were disappointed that no ice at all was available in the breakfast room. (Very American but my wife drinks Soda in the morning).
Location is very central, beds comfortable, reception very helpful
Very very small rooms, no elevator, bathroom could be cleaner
We needed a room for the four of us and I didn't want the children in another room (even though they are 16 and 12) this place could fit us all in, room was clean and fresh, staff were all great, easy to find the hotel and a good location
Quite expensive for what we got
Conveniently located to a tube station not too far from all the central London attractions we wanted to see. Lots of restaurants in the area.
Mattresses were uncomfortable. Room was small and the four of us could not be walking around the room at the same time. World's smallest bathroom. Could hear people walking around in room above.
Breakfast was plentiful and varied and staff were very pleasant. Room was clean
When booking it was not clear how to stipulate that you wanted a twin room so when i arrived a double had been made available. I was told that i should have made my requirements clear but this was not obvious when i booked.
The breakfast was amazing! The room was small but clean. For the amount of time you spend in your room, this was the perfect place and a good price and a five minute walk from Paddington Station.
The hotel does not take American Express. I booked through Booking.com and they took my reservation with Amex but the hotel didn't accept it. We were in room 10 and there were lots of stairs. Not good it you have a problem with stairs as there is no elevator.
The location is good which is only a 5-min walk to Paddington station. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The room is extremely small to fit in 3 persons even though my booking was a triple room. The breakfast room, which is in the basement, is hot and stuffy. No ventilation at all.
Cosy and tucked away.
Noise of others - banging doors and talking loudly.
The hotel was just right for our stay. The rooms were clean and the staff was very kind. The breakfast was wonderful too. The location was ideal - walking distance from many restaurants, beautiful parks and transportation. We hope to visit London in the future and would definitely stay at the Piccolino Hotel again!
It's tough to find a room for parents with kids on European cities. This place was a great find for us with our teenager. The breakfast was phenomenal, huge number of selections, far above average foods. Super kind, helpful desk and service persons.
Expect lots of stairs but that's not unusual for a small hotel in Europe that's offered at a reasonable rate.
This hotel was in a good location. The staff were very friendly. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was more than continental as advertised. We were able to leave our bags securely until our departure.
The room was up 3 flights of stairs. The room was very warm with no AC.
Great location, close to Paddington and Lancaster Gate, as well as numerous restaurants, pubs and small shops. Especial closeness to Queen Victoria pub. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice of menu, helpful staff, room was a decent size, unlike some smaller hotels and shower area was clean with an efficient shower.
The stairs will trouble some people, whilst noisy neighbours could be problem.
I needed to get the Heathrow Express early to get to Heathrow, so the venue was absolutely perfect as Paddington Station was only 200 metres, so I could simply wake up, have a shower and wheel my heavy suitcase to the station. As I was travelling on my own, this was just perfect!
Somewhat noisy (particularly other guests and people talking on the street outside).
