Pickmere Country Guest House

The welcome on arrival and also the ability to email the owner beforehand to check certain details and arrange to have breakfast early which was well cooked to our specification. The whole house was beautifully clean and fresh. We also had access to a guest lounge which proved useful. Very relaxing. We would not hesitate o book again.

The breakfast and at the rear of the property it was quiet at night.

That we were told we had been up- graded which would usually be lovely but were not asked if we were able to climb 3 flights of stairs and when you have heart problems this was very inconsiderate!

Beautiful room, gorgeously decorated, large and comfortable. Guesthouse perfectly located just off the M6 but far enough to have the quiet country village feel. Missed breakfast because of jetlag, but looked awesome.

We have stayed here previously and found the staff friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious and clean with a nice view and the breakfast was excellent. These,( coupled with the reasonable cost ) were the reasons for our return.

There was nothing to critisise

Ideal location (close to access for all that I wanted to achieve on my trip). Very welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, nothing was too much trouble. I'm glad I stayed here rather than where I intended.

Our room was very spacious, we had been upgraded to a superior room as it was a quiet time of year. The bed was very comfortable although the pillows were a bit rock like for me. The room had recently been refurbished to a very good standard with a very modern and clean bathroom en suite.The bathroom had a large walk in shower with black marble effect paneling, heated towel rail and modern fixtures and fittings. Breakfast was wonderful with carefully cooked thick sliced bacon (2), Cumberland sausage (1), fresh tomato, egg (1) to your liking, mushrooms and toast. There was a good selection of cereals, yogurts and fruits available. Felicia, the lady of the house was very welcoming and friendly. I would certainly stay again.

My pillows were too hard and perhaps just a little over priced in general but about right for the area.

Charm of hostess and charm of house. Warm welcome even when arrived early. Gentle Christmas decoration, Classic FM carols at breakfast playing quietly. Lovely tasting breakfast, tailor-made with lots of choices. Quiet comfortable spacious room with lights, books and chairs. Good new spotless bathroom. 10 times nicer than a chain hotel and not more expensive. Could not fault it.

The breakfasts are wonderful with superb choices. The owners are very friendly, helpful and have a "do as you would be done by" attitude to their business.

The weather! Everything else was brilliant.

The proprietors were first class people who made us very welcome and comfortable.

Fantastic Guest House in a fantastic location with a great walk around the local Mere. Every effort was made to ensure we had everything we needed during out visit. Food was excellent and bed was super cosy. Visited the local pub which was friendly and served good wholesome food. Top marks all round.

Value for money. Beautiful building with interiors decorated old-style. It was in keeping with the style of the house, but possibly could do with a refurb soon, although spotlessly clean. Great little local pub walking distance down the road serving very reasonably priced food. Breakfast was excellent at Pickmere Country House

The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The house has a lovely atmosphere and it is a very welcoming place.

The shower took a little bit of getting used to but once I mastered it, it was fine!
