The location is great. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was very good. We were very disappointed with the quality of the room which didn't match up to any of the reviews, which were the reason we chose this hotel. (I did see if we could upgrade immediately on viewing the room but unfortunately there were no rooms free.) There were bleach marks on the carpet and there was a crack beneath the window and there were no curtains, just a very thin office style blind. It was also very noisy. As a result it was difficult to get to sleep due to the noise and difficult to stay asleep in the morning as the light streamed in. It reminded me of student digs. Very overpriced for the quality. |

The staff were extremely friendly and cheerful and the restaurant excellent Because we were international travellers and had rather large cases the stairs were a bit of a problem. A ramp up to the main entrance might be an idea as i realise a lift in the hotel is pretty unrealistic. |

The only thing that I liked about the hotel was the breakfast in the morning. The room was shoddy, smelly (damp), it was like being in a basement. The windows were up high and all we could see out of them was parked cards. The room was in disrepair. We could not get the television to work, the tiles in the batthroom were cracked and dirty inbetween, the shower cubicle had hairs left in it from the previous occupant and I did not want my five year old daughter, my husband or myself to stay there for any longer than was absolutely necessary. |

The position on the harbourside was very good. It was fairly quiet and handy for a lot of other places to see. It had a good restaurant and bar with a good selection of food and drink. It was also near to the excellent Wreckers restaurant. The room was a bit cramped with no view, only the roof of the restaurant. It also suffered from the noise and smell of the extractor system of the restaurant. |

Location is excellent, right in the heart of a lovely little harbour.Rooms are being updated to a very good standard.Nice and friendly. There's a few steps to get into the hotel-and no lift,so you have to be ablebodied. There can be noise from the creaking floors in the parts not updated. |

Service - the staff were great. Particularly, we accidentally left a valuable item in the room and they were quick to let us know and send it appropriately. Thank you. The fact that we paid the same as my sister who had a refurbished room with a view. We were in a much smaller room overlooking the kitchens. Maybe there should have been a price differential. |

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times. The public facilities, quality of food and outlook of the hotel were excellent. We found our room (23) to be extremely dissapointing and small. Would have expected better from a backstreet B & B. Not all rooms were the same as we could see when doors were left open during cleaning. The car parking facilities at the Rashleigh Arms were extremely rough. The cobbled surface was extremely uneven and I would consider a health hazard not only to walk on but for the suspension and underside of smaller cars. |
