the food was very good both at our evening meal and the following mornings breakfast
The room was very cold and the television did not work. on complaining it was reportedly down to a bad storm that had knocked out the electricity, phones and television in the surrounding area. the open fire gave off a lot of smoke which for someone who has a bad chest was not very pleasent and had to request being moved away from the fire in the middle of the room
Lovely hotel , close to ctc wings aviation where we were travelling to Friendly welcome .We would stay there agaimd and recommend to family amd friends
No problems at all.
We found the service here excellent with friendly staff who seemed concerned about all aspects of our stay particularly the (chatty) deputy manageress Helen. The food was very good and the rooms clean and comfortable.
Not something that I didn't like but it would have helped if the inn had been signposted from the main road as you have to turn off and go down a back road.
The decor was superb and room was clean and comfortable. Would come and stay agaim
Only the limited tv chanmels
At 5am on the morning of the day of our arrival, the Inn suffered a rain/wind storm, which took out their electrics in the kitchen and disabled their tills. Anita and her staff did a great job, managing to serve us a good 3 course evening meal and a good breakfast.
Good welcome, room loveley,we booked an evening meal excellent food, good friendly staff, goodnights sleep, breakfast you could have anything we wanted lovely started our holiday off well, looking forward to going again
Efforts of the staff
Hotel suffered a major flood and lightening strike on the morning of out arrival which caused problems in the kitchen, with the TV and the WiFi, but the staff were very helpful and made the stay as pleasant as possible.
The room was better then we were expecting the staff were friendly and the food was really nice
The TV didn't work
Staff were excellent. Room fantastic. We were upgraded free of charge.
perhaps a little expensive if you wanted to stay for more than a couple of nights.
overall appearance. hotel accommodation separate from inn. pleanty of car park space.
no hot water in bath, so unable to use. no offer of room change dispite empty rooms available. temperature of water in shower erratic. ie scalding hot or cold. burnt breakfast. unkempt appearance in breakfast waiting staff. no managerial staff available to answer queries, or to deal with problems efficiently. charged full room rate dispite plumbing problems and appaling breakfast. negotiations ongoing.
Food Spacious room
Bedside lamps not working
What a beautiful Inn. The room was very comfortable and simply luxurious. Bedding fresh with feather pillows & duvet. Very comfortable bed. The pub/restaurant caters for all needs with a wide tasty menu. Food was cooked fresh. I would recommend this hotel to all, especially those romantic couples.
As my trip was for business in Southampton Port area, the Inn wasnt in an 'ideal' location. The hotel was approx 9 miles from the port which ended up costing me £20 in a taxi fare. The local taxi company charge an extra % for those journeys that go outside Southampton Central.
Food was superb and fairly priced, good beer,
Poor Wifi, noisy fan coil unit, no heating from fan coil unit, uncomfy bed, toilet never flushed properly, cob webs in every corner of room, broken light dimmer button, broken remote control, mold around shower screen, dirty bathroom tiles, shower hose leaked so much we had to use the bath, no fridge in room, makes on walls
We needed a peaceful place to relax after a long journey down from Yorkshire. Pub was a good addition before we retired for an excellent nights sleep before going the short distance to our cruise terminal. Staff we found to be friendly, helpful and mostly efficient!
Didn't think it deserved quite the star rating it has, but sufficient for what we required (a peaceful nights rest). Room a little basic in it's furnished content, but the bed was so comfortable, best nights sleep for ages but we had just had a long journey down?. Booked a table in restaurant but a mis-understanding meant we would have had to wait for one. Ate in the bar instead, no problem there, good!.
Friendly staff Great rooms, very comfortable Excellent food in the restaurant Good location
We had a good night sleep . It was clean the beds was lovely . Staff where very helpful. Would stay there again .
Friendly staff. Good food. Good beer. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.
The building , the staff , the rooms , the food , the bar , are all fantastic , you don't find places like this very often !!!
Nothing to dislike !!!
We had an evening meal the service and food was outstanding.
There was nothing that I didn't like.
On arrival we were informed that there was no room for us as Booking.com had told them that we were arriving on the previous day 23rd. Sept. I had the booking with me on my iPad but they still stated that it was Booking.coms mistake. They also stated that no money had been taken from my account but I was told the following day that it had and that they had refunded it. We were subsequently found a room in a nearby guest house ,by the manager, given a drink and a free meal and that if we liked to return the following night that would be complimentary too. We accepted this but we are still mystified as to how it arose in the first place. We have experienced this with Booking.com before!
