Pilgrim Hotel  

The hotel room we had was of a decent size and had a wonderful view over the Wye Vally/black Mountains. It was also nice and warm. Staff very friendly and competent The cooked.breakfast was well prepared and trasty; n aot huge breakfast selection but actually just what we wanted.

staff were very friendly and welcoming, they carried my bags to the room and made sure my dinning experience was enjoyable as I was dinning alone. very comfortable clean welcomimg room with wonderful views.food was superb excellent value for money all round. will definately stay again

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean hotel in a lovely location. The bar/restaurant area was especially cosy and inviting, and good to see a local real ale available.

The en-suite bathroom could do with updating - the decor is a bit old-fashioned and a modern shower would be a useful addition.

Very helpful and friendly staff, nice room (lovely view but unfortunately foggy when we were there in February), nice cosy bar area, reasonably good food.

No complaints at all about the hotel. Bookings.com gave me a 2 night rate for a 1 night stay which caused confusion at check-out but the hotel coped very well.

Everything about our stay from start to finish was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. We thought the hotel would be noisy, being on the main road, but with the rooms being at the back overlooking the valley this was eliminated. The food was superb-the chef even removed Mushrooms (my pet hate) from the Steak pie. Would recomend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel is situated in large grounds with superb views over the Black Mountains. With large car parking facilties the impressve building offers tranquility and a level of elegance. The bar facilities offered a wide range of drinks and the staff were happy to please with any request. We are unable to comment on the food but the dning facilities are attractively laid out and offered a level of privacy. The rooms are functional, comfortable and modern in decor. Our only complaint relates to breakfast (full English) which appeared sparse to my appetite!!!

Food was excellent. Staff cheerful and very helpful. Beds very comfortable. Fantastic views. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning within the next year.

Complete relaxation in a beautiful countryside location. Lovely staff and service. Nice clean, comfortable room.

It was impossible to adjust the radiator temperature in our room!

The friendliness of the staff, also they provided my husband and myself with some food on arrival although it was out of set kitchen hours.

Arrived after nine, No hot food, but was given a choice of sandwiches. Advertised wifi, but wifi not available in my room.

Stunning views, great bar and restaurant and excellent food.

Hotel room slightly damp/mouldy, with a large cobweb in room (11). Strong bleachy smell where cleaning had recently taken place in hotel. Think the whole corridor needed refreshing (decorating), slightly tired decor. Could potentially be a truly amazing place if updated.

Set in a peaceful location with a lovely garden. The staff were friendly and helpful. The one night package we booked was good value as it included two full English breakfasts. We did not have an evening meal but the menu looked interesting.

The bathroom radiator did not work properly. The member of staff we reoported the problem to tried to help and managed to get it working by twiddling with the thermostat but it still wasn't adjustable and needed fixing properly.
