Probably the best hotel I've stayed at in Reading - although only a little above average compared to others. The accommodation and facilities were very good and the location was very convenient. I can see that it would really appeal to the business traveller. Breakfast was stodgy and insipid and the staff didn't seem happy in their work. They weren't exactly rude, but didn't demonstrate good customer. social or front of house skills. This was puzzling and amusing at times, but something that the management needs to address if they want a reputation for good service as well. |

It was local to where I was working at the following day - business trip. The service in the restaurant area was quite good and the food was very good. The hotel was being renovated at the time in certain parts and this was a bit off putting. However, my room was located in a type of chalet hut situated away from the hotel. This caused problems as the free internet access was unavailable due to the distance of my location. I also found the room was very dated and the television was very basic. The shower was also very poor. |
