Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to town, within walking distance. Accommodation warm, comfortable and all facilities one would expect. Food not exceptional but tasty and well cooked. All in all a pleasant stay and hope to return one day. The ensuite facilities, i.e. shower was not very good, the shower head was small and it might have been temporary, but the water was not very hot. The toilet needed to be flushed more than once.

The friendliness of staff, the hotel was clean, breakfast was hot and a good choice of food, enjoyed playing darts, comfy bed, hot shower, reasonable prices for alcohol at the bar. Noisy guests, only one hot chocolate sachet! Didn't mind having to pay for shower gel/shampoo, but felt it was a bit expensive for what I got for the money.

This hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of the town center, is easy to find from the motorway and has ample parking. The building is spacious with Victorian character. I needed 2 single rooms and not all B&B's or hotels can provide this. Pinewood has a good selection of different sized rooms to suit everyone.

The location. Near to a wedding reception venue we were attending. The room on arrival at 3pm was cold. The central heating radiator in the bedroom was cold. Heating was provided by a small oil filled electric heater that took ages to heat the room. Outsid temp. Was 6degrees C. Had the outside temp. Been below freezing, as it was the week before, this heater would not have been good enough. The decor was very tired and in need of attention. This hotel could do with a visit from the ' Hotel Inspector'. Breakfast was very good.

It's old but original, basic but clean. We liked the food and it was good value. The owner and the staff are down to earth and genuinely welcoming, of us and our two dogs, but that's what you get in the north!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and great value. It is refreshing to find a hotel that caters for smokers, though the room could have been warmer. We would definitely stay there again. Just that the upstairs room was a little cold.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked which is almost unheard of in a lot of hotels these days Our room was comfortable and clean and there was plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits on the tray in the room. We had dinner in the hotel on our second evening and again it was freshly cooked and excellent value. The sticky tables in the bar and dining area. The hotel looks tired and could do with a facelift to be totally honest. Even a lick of paint would make a difference in certain areas.

We stayed in a twin room at the end of the corridor which was lovely and quiet. It was warm and the beds were lovely and comfy and clean. The staff were really polite and helpful especially the girl who served us behind the bar and breakfast. As much as the hotel looked lovely from the outside it was very dated inside which made everything look dirty and tatty. The bar was more like a social club from the 80's. The bedroom carpet looked filthy and I shared my shower with someone elses elastoplasts!!!

It was close to our route north on the m6 & easy to locate on Google; it allowed dogs; it was basic but comfortable & the rooms were quiet. Also plenty of parking on site. The chinese takeaway next door was also very convenient as we arrived too late for the hotel dining room. Friendly, relaxed staff & a practical stop-over between London & the Hebrides if driving.

Excellent value for money. Spotless, spacious room. Friendly staff, great location for my needs. Will stay there again if I am ever in the area. Didn't find anything wrong with it during my brief stay. Didn't sample the food but the menu sounded ok.

Staff were welcoming. Excellent breakfast.Facilities in bedroom were good . The hotel was easily reached from the motorway Carlisle city centre was easily accessible from the hotel by own or public transport. A little dated in appearance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was hot and tasty. The condition of the hotel (decoration) was very poor, in need of complete refurbishment. Our room was lacking a hairdryer. Given the position of the hotel only so much could be spent on an upgrade as it is in the less desirable end of Carlisle.

Friendly people. Impressive hall and staircase with beautifull stained glass windows. Tea and coffee facilities in the hotel room. Good cooked breakfast. The Pinegrove Hotel was the starting point of a 4-days walk along Hadrian's Wall.During this time, we were allowed to leave our car in the private car park of the hotel, which was very kind ofcourse.
